I think he said that they would not let go of Schoob because he was the best quarterback on the market. Then two days later Fitzpatrick became available, giving them the ability to upgrade Schoob. So technically The General was correct

On a different note, I met Scott Hanson today. Great guy. Always a surreal moment to talk and listen to a guy you listen to for 7 hours every Sunday during football season.

Well even if they don't like him putting all this nonsense about lifestyle is only hurting his market.

Seems like he is gone for sure. Going to miss him. Provided some of the best moments I've ever seen and he is only 27. No trouble off the field and relatively liked in the locker room besides asking for more money which is very common across the NFL.

Hope they trade him to an AFC team. Reid should get on the phone right now and give up a 2nd for him.

And I hate that instead of focusing on improving the 31st ranked D we seem to be hell bent on getting rid of Desean and creating a need where there wasn't one. Now instead of maybe going D in the first 3 rounds we will have to use one of those picks on a WR.

Losing Vick makes it even worse. Foles stinks it up or gets hurt and we have no one to step in and win.

Well I have to imagine Chip will be looking for another competent QB. Barkley won't cut it.

Yeah that's why resigning Vick to similar money the Jets gave him made all the sense in the world. IMO best FA veteran QB available, knew and excelled in the system, and from all accounts since he has been in Philadelphia he has been a great leader and figure in the locker room whether he started or was the backup. Chip loved him and credited him with getting everyone to buy into the system.

Have to say so far not really liking the off season at all. I definitely wanted Maclin back so that's great but he is coming off of a 2nd acl tear in his short career. Cooper I was indifferent about. Picking up Sproles now looks good cause Desean is gone but all the other moves haven't filled any needs.

Picked up special teams specialists but did nothing to improve the terrible secondary or average LBs. Still need another pass rusher. And now with Desean gone huge question marks for the offense. If Maclin gets hurt again we will finish 3rd or 4rth in the division easily.

I assumed they would really go for it this year. There is only so much you can do with the draft. And that's if you hit right with multiple picks.

I don't think he will have my issues beating out Geno for the starting spot while starting is not a possibility at all in Philly save for a season ending Foles injury.

He did?

Jackson put up career #s. Vick was doing great statistically and the offense was ranked #2. Then right on cue he got hurt.

Foles was the real revelation. And if he keeps it up and improves more then the loss of Desean can be minimized.

Yeah but I imagine the Jets want Geno to be the starter more than anything else. Vick is the insurance policy.

I'm sure Vick thinks he will outplay him and win the job but if the Jets are to become good they will be all behind Geno to be the franchise QB.

Wouldn't mind Desean going to the Jets. I'll get to see every game and they were two of my favorite Eagles recentely.

No, go look at his timeline. He flipped to not soon this past Monday. he has no clue just uses his best guess and acts like he has inside contacts yet he doesn't know shit. Texans FO use him to leak misinformation when needed.

National media laps up his puke as fact and reliable because of his long tenure in Houston but he is an insufferable wind bag.

Mark Berman from Fox 26 is better at breaking stories

Vick was on a 1 year contract. If Foles didn't develop Vick would be back as a starter and they would be looking to draft Manziel. Can't go with Vick now when Foles is more than 10 years younger and looks like the real deal.

Deseans's case is weird because they worked together so well and the only issue seems to be money.

I'm reading where Chronicle reporting Schaub returns "next season." Not accurate. In saying he remains on team for now!

I wrote Schaub could be cut later, including before season. They won't carry his $10 mil salary next season. No reason 2 cut him now.

He wrote that before Fitz got cut. It's not like I care one way or the other. I just need a draft source to BELIEVE, and for now, it's the General!

If the Eagles release Jackson, they will take a huge step back. They will get worse for no reason other than arrogance. For some reason the Eagles decided to add absolutely nothing on defense. There is no one left to use Desean's cap hit on. They are getting rid of him for reasons that have nothing to do with improving the football team.
