Saints schedule looks really easy.

As for who is this years Texans, I am going with the Chiefs.

Sep. 7 at Atlanta Falcons, 1
Sep. 14 at Cleveland Browns, 1
Sep. 21 Minnesota Vikings, 1
Sep. 28 at Dallas Cowboys, 8:30
Oct. 5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1
Oct. 12 BYE
Oct. 19 at Detroit Lions, 1
Oct. 26 Green Bay Packers, 8:30*
Oct. 30 at Carolina Panthers (Thu), 8:25
Nov. 9 San Francisco 49ers, 1
Nov. 16 Cincinnati Bengals, 1
Nov. 24 Baltimore Ravens (Mon), 8:30
Nov. 30 at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1
Dec. 7 Carolina Panthers, 1
Dec. 15 at Chicago Bears (Mon), 8:30
Dec. 21 Atlanta Falcons, 1
Dec. 28 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1

Week 1 = SEP 7 1:00ET CBS vs Jacksonville W (but the Jags will be much improved)
Week 2 = SEP 15 8:30ET ESPN at Indianapolis L (Luck is going to destroy things next year)
Week 3 = SEP 21 1:00ET FOX vs Washington W (Skins played them tough last year and if they are improved at all this will be a loss)
Week 4 = SEP 28 4:25ET FOX at San Francisco L (9ers are a much better team)
Week 5 = OCT 5 1:00ET FOX vs St. Louis W (that Rams D is fucking scary though)
Week 6 = OCT 12 8:30ET NBC vs N.Y. Giants W (Eli wont be playing for the other teams next year though so this could easily be a loss)
Week 7 = BYE
Week 8 = OCT 26 4:05ET FOX at Arizona L (Cards D is amazing)
Week 9 = NOV 2 1:00ET FOX at Houston W (could be a trap game between the Cards and Panthers)
Week 10 = NOV 10 8:30ET ESPN vs Carolina L (way to good D for the Eagles finesse offense)
Week 11 = NOV 16 1:00ET FOX at Green Bay L (No Seneca coming in to save the Eagles)
Week 12 = NOV 23 1:00ET CBS vs Tennessee L (the most trappiest trap game ever)
Week 13 = NOV 27 4:30ET FOX at Dallas (Thanksgiving!) L (Its not December yet)
Week 14 = DEC 7 4:25ET FOX vs Seattle L (This one will be like 43-3 ugly)
Week 15 = DEC 14 8:30ET NBC vs Dallas W (Its December)
Week 16 = DEC 20 4:30/8:00ET NFLN/CBS TBD at Washington L (This stretch of the season is impossible)
Week 17 = DEC 28 1:00ET FOX at N.Y. Giants (FLEX) L (Tough way to end the season)

6-10 and I felt like I went really optimistic. If they dont pull a Vikings against the Titans they could go 7-9.

People bitch about schedules too much.

The only time a schedule fucks over a good team is regarding playoff seeding. Sometimes a shit team gets better seeding because of a weak ass schedule, but those teams almost always get embarrassed in the playoffs.

It is really fucking rare that a good or great team misses out on the playoffs entirely because of their schedule.

If your team plays a lot better at home like the Seahawks or Saints it is a big advantage to have those high seedings.

But those are two good teams. My point is that this is a problem for the good teams in the NFL and that most fans bitch needlessly about it.

Whether the Steelers get an easy schedule or hard they are still going to suck. So the Niners last year can complain about their punk ass qb or how they got screwed out of a higher seed, but fans or shitty teams need to find something else to complain about. Like the players/coaches on their team or the stupidity of ownership.

Joe Six-Pack: posting for the common man
awesome, I might have to throw a party for the Raiders game and we can all watch Schaub shred the Texans D... look deep you know its going to happen.

I am cautiously optimistic about the Vikings schedule. We have a few tough games, and a few hard ones. So its a nice mix for a team with a new coaching setup.

The plus side is Zimmer being a defensive minded coach, as despite our QB situation last year the Vikings put up a lot of points against good teams. Our D just shit the bed repeatedly so if he can get that worked out it should be a good year. Gotta wait for the draft however.

I pity RaidersGaf though. 6 playoff teams in seven weeks? Holy ouch.

You're right. People don't realize that they would have been a 10-6 team if it weren't for complete defensive collapses in the Chicago/Cleveland/Dallas/Greenbay/Baltimore games. In each of those games the Vikings had the lead going into the final minutes.

Your offense looked amazing against the Eagles, good thing we made so many mofve to improve our defense. Oh wait

I change my mind on who the new Texans are going to be. Instead of the Chiefs, the Texans are going to be the new Texans because the fanbase (like Mech) still think they are a playoff team that had a fluke year and an epic QB collapse but are still a fundamentally 11-5 team.

All I've heard from that fanbase this year is they're a shit team with two good players and ready for BOB to fix what Kubiak wrought.

You go from good to shit. The Texans are already shit. So with that your logic is well...shit.

This team is not as bad as last years record. Coaching and QB were the two biggest issues. They have been replaced and we will see if it bears fruit

Wussle divorcing his wife! What a thug!
“I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,’’ said Wilson in a statement released to media outlets through the Seahawks. “Clearly, decisions like these don’t come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this personal matter.’’

There was quite a bit of denial going on even on Houston talk radio late in the season. Owner was also talking about how it would be a quick turnaround cause of the talent on the roster. What I never saw was where all this talent on the roster was. 1 superstar, an overpaid CB struggling to be above average, a declining RB whose contract is becoming a burden, a backup RB on the rise but who we wouldn't be able to pay to keep, a good LB who can't stay healthy for more than a quarter of the season, an overpaid ninja in decline, a criminally underused (in the redzone) superstar receiver, etc.

The offense got a lot of focus and somehow the defense got praise. But the defense was one of the worst redzone defenses as I recall. Having low total yards allowed but high points scored against just means you let the other team be efficient.

The Texans have a good roster requires too much optimism to be believable: our declining vets like Joseph return to form, Brian Cushing remaining healthy, and our average young guys like Swearinger becoming good to great to name a few. Some of them might happen, but not all of them.

It is hard to be truly a 2-14 team, of course there was some bad luck involved in that kind of record. But I also think they were nowhere near a 500 team even with the best of luck. As I said above, I have a pretty pessimistic view of their roster. It seems to me that the optimists only see the best years of the vets, instead of their current talent level, and are looking for great growth from the young guys, which is just as likely to not happen.

Don't let them get to you brother. Shoobs stink infested the entire team and now he is gone!

Ps

Please draft clowney so the rams take another LT who will fail

dionysus is right. Texans roster is shit. The core of the two good seasons got old/injured and there was no good young talent to replace them. Schoob was the biggest problem, but not the only one

WHO SAYS MONEY can't buy happiness? According to the ESPN The Magazine/Sportingintelligence Global Salary Survey, the 2013 Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks spent an average of $2.3 million per player last season, the second-highest total in the NFL. Though the franchise spent more per player than 30 other NFL teams, it ranked No. 116 overall, behind all 30 NBA teams, all but two major league baseball clubs and 13 of 20 English Premier League squads.

"A lot of people think because the NFL has great ratings, the players must be the wealthiest," says Sportingintelligence editor Nick Harris. "A list like this over time shows the disconnect."

The NBA is the highest-paying league in the world, as roughly $2 billion was paid to 441 players, for an average salary of $4,522,283 per player. The 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets, thanks largely to Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov's desire to build a contending team immediately, have the highest average payoll at $6.8 million per player, up from $5.5 million last season. The offseason acquisitions of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce increased the overall team payroll from $82,726,245 to $102,211,009, a jump from No. 16 to No. 6 on the overall list. The larger payroll is costing Prokhorov more than $80 million in luxury taxes alone.

It is crazy to me that the Vikings spend the most on players of any NFL team. I would have guessed Cowboys for sure.

This type of article is really dumb and disingenuous when it doesn't acknowledge the basic fact that you're only paying for ~12 players in the NBA as opposed to 53 in the NFL. Of course the average salary is going to be higher, the author is not making some intelligent discovery.

It's also kind of fruitless to compare NFL rosters to each other given that the NFL:

A) has a salary cap
2) has a salary floor
D) has a mandatory roster size of 53

All the teams are bound to clump together in basically the same area for pay per player.

I just thought it was interesting to see the spread in the different NFL teams. I doubt anyone would have guessed that the Vikings were #1, or that the Redskins were near the bottom. Eagles were the highest of the NFC East teams, which really seemed surprising to me.

Divorcing his HS sweetheart, who by all accounts is a lovely person, and has been by his side through multiple colleges and a failed baseball career? Just so he can go full Kaepernick and double team skanks with backup WRs?

Yeah we all wish him the best

Two more weeks, fellas. Two more weeks.

Does our mock draft start tonight in honor of the real draft not being on its usual night? If not, it should.

Week 12 = NOV 23 1:00ET CBS vs Tennessee W
Week 13 = NOV 27 4:30ET FOX at Dallas (Thanksgiving!) W
Week 14 = DEC 7 4:25ET FOX vs Seattle L
Week 15 = DEC 14 8:30ET NBC vs Dallas W
Week 16 = DEC 20 4:30/8:00ET NFLN/CBS TBD at Washington W
Week 17 = DEC 28 1:00ET FOX at N.Y. Giants (FLEX) W

Projected Record: 12-4

If the division is good I could see the Eagles at 10-6 or 11-5. If they suck as much as last year, I think 12-4 is a reasonable projection.

I could see the Eagles losing to either the Cards or Panthers, but not both. I'm pretty confident. Let's see how the draft goes though.

Kap is pure of heart. Lots of people want to marry him but he knows it's not the time so no need to break someone's heart. Wussle is a deceiver who leaves his high school sweet heart before he gets his big payday. Doesn't the bible forbid divorce?! Or is that another of the many "follow only when convenient" rules that churchies follow? For shame wussle

Jabee you have the Eagles going 6-0 in the division. Last year the division was a total dumpster fire and they only went 4-2. The Skins will be improved and Eli wont be a double agent next year. 6-0 seems crazy to me.
