http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...tine-takes-on-bigger-role-with-browns-offense

Cleveland's offense went off the rails late last season, a swoon that only looked worse after play-caller Kyle Shanahan resigned in January with two years left on his contract.

This time around, Browns coach Mike Pettine is taking a different approach, attending meetings with new coordinator John DeFilippo and learning the playbook "just like a first-year player would learn it."

"I have flash cards to help me learn a lot of the formations," Pettine said Friday, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. "It was like being a rookie."

Said Pettine: "I'm with (DeFilippo) every step of the way as far as, 'Here's what we're implementing today. Here's what's going in.' It's been great. I feel very rejuvenated as a coach."

Pettine, of course, spent years with the Jets under Rex Ryan, the defensive mastermind with a blind spot on offense that ultimately cost New York wins -- and helped usher Ryan out of town.

Pettine won't be mistaken for a quarterback whisperer, but he's finished bathing exclusively in defensive tape, saying: "Flip and I are very much on the same page with where this offense is headed."

Still, Pettine's new assignment has generated a few awkward moments.

"I was not thrilled with (offensive line) coach (Andy) Moeller the other day," Pettine said. "He was showing cut-ups and showed a film from when I was in Buffalo as the defensive coordinator, and we gave up a 30-yard touchdown run. The players were all getting after me. More so because I was wearing white pants on the sideline. I wear what they put in my locker."

Belichick is probably the only defensive coach to meddle with his offense successively. Most are far closer to Buddy Ryan and Jeff Fisher

Internet hype around Mad Max is too high. I'll wait for it to die down, be replaced with the backlash, then the reverse backlash, by which time it should be on Bluray and I can watch it with no expectations

This is how I am with pretty much every movie and game. With The Witcher 3 I know it'll get tha initial "Greatest game ever etc." Then the backlash and rinse and repeat. It's hilariously cyclical at this point.

Mario Kart 8 is great though.

I'm not sure if I want to see Mad Max so I'll just wait until everyone hates it so I can validate my feelings.

I'm sure people would hate on the Godfather if given the platform.

ever since the Steelers/Packers played in the SB, a friend who I rarely talk to who is a Steelers fan always jokes with me at the beginning of each NFL season "see you in _________" wherever the Super Bowl is being held

the other day I reach in my sink for my favorite coffee mug (one of my Packers ones)... the bottom just straight falls out, and I post a picture on Facebook about it

today I get a suspicious package in the mail - open it up to find a note "see you in California" and a brand fuckin' new Packers coffee mug wrapped up inside

:')

MS got the sponsorship rights for some thing called Eurovision which I've heard is a big deal (I'm sure our more communist friends can enlighten us).

First it's the April NPD, now it's this.

Go home and tell your PS4s you love them. The Age of Sony is...over.

Mad Max was superb. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed myself with a balls to the wall action movie in the theater since Dredd.

....and Max was far more insane.

Eurovision basically boils down to:

  • Crappy songs
  • Ridiculous costumes
  • Hilariously awkward hosts
  • Geopolitical voting blocs i.e. Scandinavians and the Balkans all vote for each other, Mother Russia is guaranteed to get a shit load of points and Britain always needs a sympathy vote from the Oirish to avoid ending up on nil points.
  • An Irish commentator making increasingly snarky comments about how shit the whole thing is as he slowly gets more and more drunk throughout the evening
  • 100% guarantee of incredible gif material

Ndamukong Suh showed up for the start of the Dolphins’ offseason program, but that was just a gesture to say hello to his new teammates in Miami. Since then Suh has done what he did in Detroit: Stayed away from voluntary workouts.

But while some might say the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history ought to be willing to show up to the team facility in the offseason, those in Miami say they’re fine with Suh staying home. Suh’s fellow defensive tackle A.J. Francis says that no one begrudges Suh following his own workout routine, on his own schedule and at his own gym.

“He came the first couple of days, we ran and he did his thing,” Francis told the Palm Beach Post. “He went back to where he trains at. But that’s what he does. He’s the best d-lineman in the league so if he wants to train somewhere else that’s his prerogative. And nobody can tell him otherwise.”

lololllllllllll

money well spent dolphins. guarantee this dude is going to bust out in miami
