Said earlier how boring it was to actually watch the combine footage, but it sure is fun to watch the NFLN panel break down the corners and safeties. New respect for Mayock as well, hate him on the TNF cast, but he's a great listen in a situation where he belongs.

Heh, I'm more of an analysis guy I guess. It's not the live Combine footage I care about I suppose, I just love to watch the panel break it all down, or listen to the ATL podcasts about it, etc etc.

Plus it's different when you have the perspective on the draft/combine from a team like the Browns looking to build with major pieces. Whereas I'm keeping my eye more on free agency and releases and all that stuff moreso at the moment.

Besides trying to eventually get my nursing degree I'm an exercise science major so it's kinda fun for me to break Down guys form and actions. So that's part of my reason, and I'm a browns fan hahah.

Yep. Draft is a much bigger deal for fans of shitty teams

Falcons are releasing safety Thomas DeCoud. I think this was pretty much expected, but I'm still a little surprised. Per Brian McIntyre, Falcons will save $3 million in cap space.

Some NFL players are not on the Johnny Manziel bandwagon, but the former Texas A&M QB can count on one of the league's top cornerbacks welcoming him with open arms if he's drafted by the Cleveland Browns. Browns CB Joe Haden said Tuesday that he's a Manziel fan.

"I would have no problem with it," Haden said of Manziel potentially landing with the Browns. "... I love the way he plays, his passion. You need that, especially with the young team we have with the Browns. He would bring that fire to us, just the excitement. With Johnny Football, you never know what he's going to do on any play. I like that about him."

Just that the draft and combine are what some teams futures could be, and there's a lot of hope in that, so a lot more attention will get put on that time frame. It's all good in either case.

Does make me want to read a book or two on draft day process/prospects/gm and coach perspective, etc etc etc.

The draft is always important. If you're doing poorly, it's where you acquire talent. If you're doing well, it's how you acquire value.
