NFL Preseason/Training Camp 2014 |OT| - This is our year!

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=123895121&postcount=548

It's actually $130, sorry about that. But supposedly if you use promo code REP15 when signing up you get 15% off, which would bring it down to $110.

Good luck!

I'll hold out and see if the VPN stuff works this season. It was active all season and playoffs for me thanks to someone on The Coli having a cookie for posters each week.

I'm definitely getting cable this season though, and my first flat screen TV. Chromecast too.

...and deal with a ridiculous amount of dead money.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/joe-flacco/

You would have to be a moron to cut Flacco with that amount of dead money hitting your cap. He isn't cuttable until 2018. They'd still eat 15 million in 2017. That's a /horrible/ contract for the Ravens. Flacco is no doubt happier than a pig in shit.

I'm happy because the alternatives were 1) cut another guy who got us a ring and 2) Start Tyrod Taylor

The next really interesting one is going to be Scam. Wilson and Luck are still two years away probably, unless the team instigates.

Everyone knows all of Blizzards assets were stolen from GW bro.

I thought Wilson being a 3rd round pick is eligible after this season? Luck is basically protected for 5 years being a first rounder like Watt. That 5th year option and all.

Christ, good point. I was thinking they were on the same schedule. I forgot the NFL is racist against midgets.

Click every year and look at Flaccos money

June 1st cut next season would limit what they have to pay him. They won't cut him barring an injury, and even then I'm sure they insured the contract. There's a reason the NFL makes billions of dollars and teams don't go under/are handcuffed to a contract like the NBA was pre-last lockout, when a stupid contract is signed.

e: fuck grammar. I don't care lol

I advocated for the Ravens to sign him when it was being hashed out. You don't not sign a guy that just won you a ring but Newsome is generally a better GM than that contract. I'm all for committing if you think he's your guy but good lord.

Ben will get extended this time, next year. I'm scared.
At least he is good.

Bungles are paying for a shitty qb on a good team.

Ravens overpaid for a goober who got hot for a month against retarded coaches who never took away the deep ball.

Paying good players a lot of money is not going to kill us. Our problem is we overpay some shitty players and have a lack of overall talent at too many positions. That all changes this year of course. With sharknado and Jones on defense, with Brown leading the charge on offense with a revamped line and a stable of good rbs I see great things in our near and immediate future!

If Tomlin learns how to coach properly and we can get one more year about of Lebeau then we will be truly unstoppable.

How much longer do people think he has in the league? Serious question. With how often he's hit, his injury history, and his age (33 in March), his next contract should/will probably be his last, regardless of how long it is.

Wilson is under contract for 2015 as well at $953k (lol). He is eligible to sign a new deal though after 3 years.

I agree with CDY that is would benefit the Seahawks to get him signed after this season.

There's really no reason not to, unless his play just falls off a cliff this season. If he plays well this year and you don't give him a new deal, he'll be more likely to try and sign somewhere else, and even if he doesn't end up signing elsewhere he'll be able to ask for more money.

So I am halfway through book 8(?) path of daggers, and I get why bionic kept calling Perrin a bitch. Perrin is basically bionic. Living in constant fear of his overbearing and manipulative wife. Mirrors can be hurtful.

Also, I mean to ask this earlier but what the fuck. The Domani are the whore's arom arad doman, but the domani are also the leashed witches? Why call them the same thing?!

I've been reading this Harry Potter book for a solid month. Granted I haven't had much time to devote to it but there is way too much goddamn filler in here.

He played every snap last year, so that probably helped him . I expect the deal to take him to 37 though.

Or, we could have been smart and recognized that Joe Flacco is not a top QB, and that it was Ray Lewis' retirement magic that infused Joe Flacco with next-level competence. That contract will continue to cripple our ability to do much, and if Flacco can't turn it around from last year, well, we're fucked for years.

This is more a result of audiobooks. Damane = leashed witches. Arad Doman is the country. As a reader I have no idea the appropriate pronunciation.

Speaking of Books, I think I might read this next.

Leashed witches is a phrase that only a Children of the Light would utter! Leashed witches refer to the Damane (the Seanchan leash women channelers as part of their military force, along with having them scout for minerals, etc, like Egwene in Book 2) as someone else already said. The Domani are the group of people where Jordan paints their women as using seduction to get what they want. The whole Arad Doman area is a complete clusterfuck at this point.

And yes Perrin is a bitch until a certain event many books from now!

I actually don't think he is that big a bitch.

Also I had a sort of revelation today. These books would probably suck if you were waiting a year for them, and then had a year to wait til the next one. For me though since I am plowing through them all it generally just feels like one long book. I'm enjoying Path of Daggers and I think Crown of Swords was one of the better books so far.

I figured but Jordan has input on pronunciation (you can tell because he was interviewed at the end of the first few, and some words changed throughout) and they are spoken exactly the same. Dumb.

This is 870 pages.
870 pages of words with maximum 5 letters.

I gave up on that series halfway through book 1. Epic fantasy is so awful.

Loved that book! Read it in one go during a flight. Really insightful stuff, especially for people who aren't too familiar with the nuances of the game.

WTF why isn't Brent at his jersey retirement announcement. Dude is phoning it in.

I swear the Packers and Brett are like a Married couple who refuse to get divorced but are considered separate....and every time they have to do things together, it gets awkward.

Yeah, that's exactly why I think I'll like it. I've known the basics of football for years, but figure it's finally time to get a better grasp on everything that happens away from the ball.

Eh, this is significantly better than Martin's writing. It doesn't constantly devolve into torture and food porn and the characters have somewhat realistic motivations. There is also just enough tongue-in-cheek and knowing winks to make it entertaining even during relatively boring diplomacy stuff.

There's nothing awful about the series, book 1 especially has a clear beginning and ending. It gets bloated with characters and perspectives later on but I can't imagine what you'd think of the series later on.

Jordan is over-descriptive, but his villains are so incredibly incompetent, with the exception of a couple, that it really never gets into total torture porn. He does have an entire character, Semirhage, dedicated to it essentially.

3 things:

1. Doctors apparently straight-up told Wilson to retire, so his career's probably done. Sucks, but it sounds like he's happy to at least be able to walk away and still be able to walk.

2.

Harry Potter is the best, and the one thing in media where I won't complain about filler. I'm glad the series in spinoffs will continue.

3. Deadspin's Why Your Team Sucks is back for 2014, starting today with the Titans

This is like when video game companies announce the trailer will come out a month later.

Except the retirement is next year when the new wing is finished.

Whatever. Good job getting it done lets move on.
