NFL Week 13 |OT| My Favorite Things

I think the ideal spot for Alex is a team that is decent in most places except for QB. Put Alex in and develop another Kap to eventually replace him. That can become Alex's new thing. Year to year and team to team, hold the fort until the younger, better player is ready to replace him

So MIN, JAX, KC. Assuming those teams are ready to move on from their current QBs

Just reading that makes it sounds like a horribly depressing football existence. :jnc

Jags have a ton of salary cap room.

Now they just need Tebow!

But wait... Chad Henne might start a winning streak! The controversy!

LOL at Min being ready to move on from Ponder already.

Apprently Brandon Marshall knows something we don't.

In all fairness, Viagra is a performance-enhancing drug.

But will it help players gain an edge on the football field?

Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall seems to think so.

When asked about Adderall, which is being blamed for a rising number of PED suspensions in the NFL, Marshall had an interesting response.

“I don’t know too much about Adderall,” Marshall said during his weekly press conference. “I know guys, it is such a competitive league, guys try anything just to get that edge. I’m fortunate enough to be blessed with size and some smarts to give me my edge. But some guys, they’ll do whatever they can to get an edge. I’ve heard of some crazy stories. I’ve heard (of) guys using like Viagra, seriously. Because the blood is supposedly thin, some crazy stuff. So, you know, it’s kind of scary with some of these chemicals that are in some of these things so you have to be careful.”

I've seen bad QBs behind bad lines throwing to bad WRs, but I've never seen a YPA like Ponder. Especially with Peterson. There should be lots of opportunities for some easy throws off PA. Either the OC is the dumbest coach in the league or Ponder just isn't the guy

NSFW!!https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A8vER4ICIAAjomG.png:large Seriously NSFW!

Why so he and gronk can see who is the bigger douchebag?

Wait right there buddy! You might be the most reasonable Texans fan left, but let's not go and call Gronk a douchebag. Gronk is an upstanding citizen, a fun guy, who just likes to party, catch TDs and bang college girls. If that means you're a douche then by God I want to be the biggest douchebag ever.

2) Gabbert - 5.98
3) Ponder - 6.09

Top 3 in YPA:

1) Cam - 8.24
2) RGIII - 8.21

Should have been clear about Air Yards

http://wp.advancednflstats.com/airYardsStats.php

Can be sorted by AYPA

37 R.Fitzy BUF 2.7
38 B.Leftwich PIT 2.7
39 C.Ponder MIN 2.4
40 B.Quinn KC 2.3

And if I'm wrong about it that's cool. I don't watch much of your team, it sure seems like the fans don't have a lot of faith, and his numbers in that area are dreadful

A whopping eight teams put in waiver claims for former Eagles DE Jason Babin who was awarded to the Jaguars, per league source.

We know the Jags and Browns put in bids. Any idea of the other 6?

I am not saying the model is the true measure of a team and therefore any significant deviations are statistical flukes. I'm suggesting the opposite. There are significant factors not captured by the model, and one of those factors is Panthers head coach and former Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera.

btw I absolutely would never say football stats are any way gospel. But I do think that the strange outlier type numbers do have some value. BAL's absurd STs and record in close games probably makes them easy pickings in the playoffs, for instance. And I've seen enough of Peyton to know that he generally obliterates bad teams, the KC game excepted. So I'm so sure they are as great as all the metrics make them look.

Contrary to reports, league source says # Browns did not put in waiver claim for former # Eagles DE Jason Babin. # NFL

More bad injury news for a busted up and broken down defense in Dallas:

Orlando Scandrick likely out the rest of the season:

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/46259/scandrick-injury-another-blow-to-dallas-d

Scandrick says he'll miss 6-to-8 weeks after having surgery to repair his broken left hand. Per Calvin Watkins:
Scandrick also said he's got a bone bruise and sprained ligaments in his wrist. With five weeks remaining in the regular season, the Cowboys elected not to place Scandrick on injured reserve in the hope he could return for any potential postseason games.

"I just want to come back and help my team anyway that I can," Scandrick said Wednesday.

I refuse to believe that Matt Ryan's passes travel further in the air on average than AGod.

I'm sure those 2 bombs against Carolina and Tampa that went 65 or so yards in the air probably skew his results.

Rodgers has been sacked like 100 times. He has no time to let plays develop down the field like that this season.
Plus, different offensive styles as well

fwiw PFF's average depth of target are different than Brian Burke's. Can't link to it b/c it's pay-walled, but Rodgers is still behind Ryan. 8.5 to 8.0

The bottom 3 in their stat is Alex, Fitz, Ponder. 7.5 7.2 6.3

Oakland release Rolando McClain.

The year he came out in the draft I wanted the Pats to take him. Now the Pats have a good stable of LB maybe there is room for him.

Schefty says Bills and Skins also put in waiver claims for Babin. I'm sure Babin is pissed he doesn't get to be on the Skins. Although with no state income tax in FL, at least he's making a good chunk more than he was in Philly

Source? I've not seen anything come through from the usual suspects. The only thing I've seen is that he was held out of practice due to "team issues" whatever that means.

Rapoport RT this from a reporter from Alabama
Former Bama LB Rolando McClain no longer with OAK. He writes: I'm gonna weigh my options. Looking forward to playing for an actual 'team'.

edit: Rapoport is saying Rolando is talking on Facebook and basically saying he is waiting for his release because he is done with the Raiders. So technically he still part of the team.

Ah, thanks guys. I remember being high on him and his being on the list of possible draft choices for the Giants.

Reports of his being absent from practice noted that Allen said he didn't know whether he'd be back Thursday for practice. Seems like he is all but done.

If he's not I am. Redskins could have used some defensive help, but as usual, The Jacksonville Jaguars screws everything up. I'm starting to dislike this team solely because of how inept they are.
