Report: Seahawks cut Braylon Edwards

Braylon Edwards is a Seahawk no more.

Seattle has waived Edwards, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Edwards will be given the waived/injured designation, although it was not immediately clear what the nature of his injury is.

Edwards, who signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks in July, has mostly been a non-factor for the Seahawks this season, with eight catches in 10 games. Edwards was also a non-factor in San Francisco last season, and at age 29 he may not have much left.

We’ve already mentioned Edwards a couple times today, first because he said the people who run his old team, the Jets, are idiots, and then because he apologized for saying that. And now we know why Edwards suddenly realized that it’s not wise to burn bridges.

Crazy that Gruden would rather go to the Raiders than U of Tennessee or somewhere. College coaching is far, far cushier. He'll get paid twice as much in Oakland but have a third of the job security.

Not Gonna Happen unless Disney and Hearst spin off ESPN - which will never happen. Gruden to go back to coaching is a BLOW to ESPN though because he was going to be their version of "Madden".

As a Wolverine alum I've been so disappointed with the arc that Braylon's career has taken over the years. Dude was the toast of the town during his final few years at Michigan and ever since then it's been to and fro to various struggling situations, effort issues at times, and just never really lived up to his potential. Such a shame.

He was great with the Jets. Made huge plays in the playoffs and the regular season. Jets shouldn't have signed Plax.
