wtf? did the giants get another bye?
guess they need all the help they can get. rofl. anyway, redskins brought out their C game and still held the chicago offense to 160 yards of total offense.
two straight weeks defense hasn't allowed a TD... however, special teams and offense sure likes to give them away.
if the redskins ever get the offense clicking, the NFC east race is over.
C game? That was their best material this year. Clinton Portis looked like the hoss he is with 36 carries for 171 yards. It was wise of Gibbs to ride him like that going into the bye week, but I don't expect Portis to get near as many touches for the rest of the season, so their goes two-thirds of your offense. Brunell throwing for 95 yards and completing 8 of 22 is about par for the course.
Luckily, the skins played yet ANOTHER terrible offense to make their D look that much better. If you had seen the game you would have seen an empty husk of a passing game for the Bears. The "second-best run defense in the league" gave up 97 yards on 24 carries, an average of 4.1 yards per carry. Considering you only had to play against the run, what does that have to say about you?
At 2-4 for the 'Skins, and 4-1 for the Giants, you are right, the Giants are the ones that need all the help they can get. Thank God that this bye week will slow down the building momentum that they had after demolishing Dallas, a team that the 'Skins really didn't do much against.
Barely squeaking by a team as bad as the Bears are at this point, congrats! Putting together another 10 consecutive wins isn't out of the question!
But yeah you're right this is our second bye week. The first was when playing the Redskins, didn't even need to show up.
