Ok. I overstated that. I went and took a quick look to refresh my memory. Basically the rule is players "assume the risk" of injury when they play the sport and things that occur that are basically "reasonably predictable" within the context of the sport aren't claims. The issue is more that courts are VERY deferential to what can be said to be "reasonably predictable." Even things like the Bertuzzi hit aren't that unlikely when you consider the million different scenarios that can occur in a game. Basically what the rule is allowing for is things like players pulling a Happy Gilmore and trying to stab someone during a game.
