Didn't expect him to play this season after he had his last setback. Really no point for him to try and push anything, I'd rather see him get 100% ready for next season. Miss him like hell though, we're a different team with him in the lineup.

Bueno. I think he deserves it, of all the potential nominees he's the only one to come in fresh this year, had a 1 week training camp and took the team from 28th to a top 5 team.

It's good that he might be back playing soon. Luke Schenn also got hit with a puck on Saturday, but he was wearing a visor so he only missed 10 minutes while he got stitched up.
Its crazy how much the game has changed even post lock out. Shot blocking along with collapsing in front of the net it is pretty different now.

If Higgins is really out, that's gonna sting. His chemistry with Roy has been pretty amazing, they fit perfectly on the 3rd line. Raymond-Kesler-Kassian was alright, although Kassian and Raymond are clearly not on his level.

If Higgins is out for the start of playoffs I'd seriously consider playing Kesler on wing to start the playoffs. Playing Weise with Roy and Hansen will kill Roy's effectiveness.

Raymond - Roy - Kesler (Kesler takes most draws, then plays wing after the draw)
Weise - Lapierre - Hansen
Sestito - Ebbett - Kassian
Play the shit out of the top two lines, use the third line as a "shutdown line" and play the 4th line 5 minutes a game.
Either that or call Schroeder back up.

Lapierre is not a third-line centre. I would sooner call up Schroeder than use Lapierre there.
Simmons is a retard. Weren't the Jets leading the division when Ovechkin destroyed them with a bunch of goals? How about looking at the games relative to the time and position of standings when they were played? It could be argued that his goals knocked them out of a playoff position.
A guy like Simmons is probably upset that a Russian is doing well.
I was gonna say....don't think he's really up to snuff on a third line.

Hansen-Schroeder-Kassian has SOME offensive potency. Let Pinno and Weise wing Lapierre for a decent fourth line. Keep Ebbett the fuck out of the top nine.
I remember him late night on the FAN590 and then 102.1 the Edge. He also used to buy lots of weed from my buddy.
