Don't forget Gardiner suffered a concussion so that played a factor with the whole situation last year.

I just don't think Carlyle would play a guy pretty heavily if he didn't think highly of him. As opposed to a guy like J-M Liles.
This is really late, but I just wanted to reply and say that I totally agree. It never made sense to me that these rules would be put in place to protect a minority of shitheads that shouldn't even be in the NHL.
