I'm not sure I'd trade for Iginla, depending on what goes away. I'm afraid it might be Eller and/or Pacioretty, and they're both not guys I'd give away for two years of Iginla.. Especially not Patches.
 
Newest rumour is PG's plan B is Vermette and Derrick Brassard. I don't know what those dudes would bring to the CH apart from French.

There's also a new rumor story about Markov being addicted to painkillers, and not wanting to play in Montreal anymore. I love this rumour, since it basically explains itself. Maybe Markov doesn't want to play in Montreal because... dumbasses start rumors like that?

Latest rumour, and to be honest, I won't be following those for a long while, but tonight was just fun :

Iginla just turned down the Habs.
Martin is here to stay till the end of the season.

Those two sentences make me LOL. Especially when Habs games on TV are down 14% from last year. This ownership currently has no idea what the fans want. Gillett was better at understanding how to make cash than Molson is.

Almost any team that trades for him will have to give up young players. If Iginla is dealt, then Calgary is in rebuild mode and they aren't going to want a bunch of older players in return.

Then again....it is Calgary....so maybe they do.....
 
With the way the Bruins are playing, why would they risk messing something up by obtaining an aging vet? Makes no sense to me.
 
not impressed with the way the Sharks played tonight. Playoff atmosphere at the tank and was fun. Holy shit at Niemi. I still don't believe in him.
 
So I just got back from the game and it was such a great time. The atmosphere was really nice, we had some Habs cardboard stuff(my friends are canadiens) so we got to take alot of shit but it was all in good fun.

Eller actually showed some glimpses of brilliance. Oh man att Emelins open ice. Price looked shaky as hell, but most of the time when he looked shaky he had a bit of luck so it sorted itself out. He really has to get a better sense of the game, every time he went out to play the puck it was just as if he had no idea of where the other players(both sharks and habs) were.

Man Havlat can still fly out there.

Iginla to Habs makes 0 sense. Iginla at 34 goes to a team with Cup aspirations like Pens, Bruins, Hawks not a team in disarray like the Habs. If the rumors were true it's a play to sell more jerseys. I already saw a tweet by a Habs fan that said "Iginla is the key to #25!!". LOL ok

I don't see either of those guys getting moved any time soon. The rumors had been Krejci, I'm not sure if his new contract means anything, but unless they start tanking hard like in October I don't see them moving anyone until the trade deadline. Even though he's played better lately, I would expect Boychuk to be moved if anyone goes.
 
Maybe Boston moves Marchand, but they will never ever move Lucic. He's someone you simply cannot replace. Ditto with Chara. You can find skill and grit and speed and toughness everywhere in the NHL, but there aren't any players like Lucic out there.

Christ, just look at the bell curve of human size. There aren't many people like Lucic and Chara out there.

I think there's no way they move Marchand either. Why are people expecting Boston to get rid of all their best young cheap players for no reason again?
 
Apparently Burke and Lowe almost rented out a barn in Lake Placid to have a fist-fight until Bettman found out and intervened.

I really hope the 4 division plan goes through. I would love for the NHL to shake things up.
 
Helm and Connor will be on the same line tonight for Detroit, man if Eaves and Mursak weren't injured and put on that line as well, dat speed!!
