For some reason I read a Damien Cox blog post today, and in it he was repeating the now-oft-heard that 'based on the Leafs this year', Burke was a successful GM. Oh, and that George Cope and George Cope alone was the reason Burke was fired.

Can someone explain to me how a team that's 3 games above .500, and that has 1 blue-chip prospect in the system (Rielly) after 4 years, is proof that Burke was successful?
