Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
So many gifs from tonight.

First, after Kesler vs Brown, we have part 2 of Team USA chemistry:

Howard's comment was hilarious though:

"I asked him who he was bringing to Sochi," Howard said. "I told him I was bringing my parents and my sister. It was a good discussion in that aspect."

Then a gif of Benn's elbow on Cooke, which should hopefully result in a nice suspension:

Hartley is a horse's ass. He knew exactly what he was doing. Torts' attempt to storm the ramparts was amusing, but also a stupid maneuver. Still, we collected the usual 2 points from the Flames, there will be fines aplenty, and all is well in God's earth. Moving on.

Yea Torts was for sure right to start the 4th line. No point in risking your best players against a bunch of goons right at the start of the game. Attacking the Calgary locker room was stupid but hilarious.

And lol at that dive.

Usual 2 points? Was a bit iffy there in the shootout. Your crew here seemed a bit skiddish. :p

When in Rome.. ;)

I think you guys are confusing disbelief for benefit of the doubt, theres no way to know, but if it were your team youd probably play the same damn card. Thats all im saying, disparaging comments like "youve never watched a game of hockey" are fucking absurd and uneccessary.

Gio taking 3 that period was surprising, both teams displayed 100 percent despite roadbloacks and it was an entertaining game of hockey, I dont understand why the fans are being held accountable for the actions of the club, other than some one must answer for these atrocities, thats for the league to decide, im just a fucking spectator, ive wasted enough brain power on this subject.

I expect crap like that in the gaming section or off topic, not here. Kinda lame.

Indeed. And yea, was surprised to see Gio in the penalty box that much. Weight of the team on his shoulders. Probably why he went down so easy... ;)

It was obviously an act of frustration, its just weird seeing it come from him, because even before he was captain he was always a pretty stand up dependable guy, you could obviously sense the desperation from him, which wasnt entirely necessary.

Oh I love that we are shit on daily but a "legit team" like the canucks let 9 go and theyre fine, come on guys.

Missed a ton of schenigans from the other day, wow. The timing is also rather convenient with the NFL Championship games today.

I just want to inform everyone that Dan Cleary came to the rescue on that play and prevented any violence from escalating with his smooth talking and amazing people skills.

Leafs are comfortably back into a playoff spot. But I haven't really watched any games in the past month other than the Winter Classic. With work so busy I've been focusing exclusively on gaming as a hobby... =/ I'm really discouraged at how little I seem to care about the Leafs / NHL these days when I come home from work. I just get home tired and unwind on XB1 or 360.

Didn't Hartley pull something similar when he was coaching Atlanta?

edit: Not really, but there was a line brawl when the Leafs where beating Atlanta 6-1 back in '05.

Crosby = Team Captain. Toews and Weber alternate captains.

Sidney Crosby has been named Canada's captain for next month's Sochi Olympics.

Crosby, who scored the gold-medal-winning overtime goal against the United States in Vancouver four years ago, was the natural choice this time around. In addition to leading the NHL in scoring, he's the face of the league and hockey in Canada.

Jonathan Toews and Shea Weber were named alternate captains, Hockey Canada announced Sunday morning.

There will be no shortage of leadership in Sochi, but it starts with Crosby, who in August called this possibility "an honour."

"We all want to be on this team and lead by example when we need to, but it's an honour to be a captain on any team," he said at Olympic orientation camp in Calgary.

Crosby was made the youngest captain in NHL history when he got the "C" for the Pittsburgh Penguins six and a half years ago. In 2009 he raised the Stanley Cup as captain.

At the 2010 Olympics, Crosby was an alternate along with defenceman Chris Pronger and winger Jarome Iginla. Veteran defenceman Scott Niedermayer captained that team and said before his Hockey Hall of Fame induction in November that he had no doubt Crosby is ready to assume that role.

"He's very mature," Niedermayer said. "He was probably ready when he was 16. He was probably ready in 2010, and the thinking was he's going to have enough pressure on him just from who he is and things like that that he doesn't need one more thing to worry about, give it to some old guy that's just trying to figure things out out there. I'm sure he would do very well."

Toews seemed like the only other logical option, based on performing in 2010 and leading the Chicago Blackhawks to two Stanley Cups. Last week he acknowledged the possibility of being named captain.

"I'm ready for any role," Toews said in Montreal. "Last time, I played five, six, maybe seven minutes at the start of the tournament in Vancouver. By the end of it, the coaches had more confidence in me. They put me in more defensive situations. This time around won't be different. Whether I'm captain — or not — whatever. I'm going to Russia to win a gold medal like everyone else."

This will be the second Olympics for most of the core, including the leadership group.

"Honestly, it doesn't get old," Crosby said in Vancouver of just making the team. "That feeling doesn't get old. The appreciation and being proud to represent your country, it's the same for everybody."

Russia already named Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings as captain. It's Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins for Slovakia and Tomas Plekanec of the Montreal Canadiens for the Czech Republic.

The United States has yet to name its captain, though general manager David Poile singled out Ryan Suter, Zach Parise, Dustin Brown, Ryan Callahan and David Backes as the U.S. leadership group.

That doesn't even BEGIN to ask the question of why Hartley put those guys (again, Westgarth took 3 faceoffs ALL SEASON) to begin with if not to start shit. This is on Hartley, not Torts.
I'd agree with you entirely if Tortorella hadn't tried to take on the entire Flames team in the hallway. Still, at least he's accepting responsibility for that.

In any case, a big thanks to the Flames and Canucks for getting hockey some exposure in the USA!

NHL is a joke. If that hit had happen with two more high profile teams there would be a suspension. Not even close to being called defensive contact to the head. Cooke wasnt going for a hit.

Feel like Toews should be captain over Crosby but it hardly matters I guess.
Ugh I hate that Crosby is the "best player in the world" he's such a fucking crybaby.
