NHL Lockout With Your Cock Out |OT|

Wouldn't it be funny if the NHL said ok, we will honour existing contracts but the cap still goes down.....and then all the players not under contract only get offers to play for less than the league average, would that 40% go and kill the players that do have long term deals? :p

Wow, Shannon is pretty adamant that Luongo will be a Leaf, he is usually a pretty good source
Doesn't make any sense. How can either GM be so confident that they'll agree on the other players involved when the time comes?

I hope it's true. Because that would mean Gillis could make unreasonable demands and Burke would accept them because Shannon said so.

This shit sucks.

I haven't had time to follow the offseason very closely, but I was really looking forward to getting hockey back and watching the Kings defend their title. I really hope this gets resolved soon.

I think there was something in the water for that era. Growing up seeing Gretzky, Lemieux, Hasek, Bure. There was so much talent out there. Even other sports with Jordan and guys like Marino or Elway.

Gretzky was ahead of his time though, noone was on the same planet as him.

2857 career points would be waaaay harder to break than 50 goals in 39 games or a 51 game point streak.

We're never going to have another Wayne Gretzky until we have another Walter Gretzky. A dedicated father like him is half the reason Wayne is so good. The other half was Waynes head, his foresight and fascination with puck territory.

I got the joke!

We should be getting ready to boo Justin Schultz out of the building today :-(

*sigh*.. I was so looking forward to this game in particular.

If you were really good and were fortunate enough to play enough years, chances are that you'd break it eventually.

I'm in no way saying it would be easy, but compared to 50 in 39...

Not that I think anyone can really beat the bolded but I think those are the only ones there that anyone can come close to getting.

Not even close. Take the highest point total since Gretzky retired: Joe Thornton, 125 points (2005-06)

You'd have to have 23 seasons like that to pass Gretzky.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
Didn't Dupuis end last season with like a 25game point-streak? I feel like that'll be easiest/most likely to be broken, it requires the least amound of skill/someone might just get that lucky. Not that it requires no skill at all, but definitely less than some of the others.
