Yep. Remember starting up napster or kazaa, laboriously finding a couple of 96kps MP3s and queuing them up overnight and crossing your fingers at least one song would download.

Heh I just remembered when I got a 56k modem and was so excited, hoping that it would work so much better than the old 33.6k it was replacing. You'd think the recent memory of the unimpressive 'leap' from 28.8k to 33.6 would have kept my expectations in check, but no.

But then the day I got a cable modem, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit that was fucking awesome.

The days of napster/kazaa where "naked hot blonde" (+about 30 other random words) could mean anything between clown porn, child porn and hentai but NEVER "naked hot blonde" are definitely not lost from my memory.

always seemed there was at least a 25% chance what you were downloading actually wasn't what the file name said.

Lawd There was a small window for me to connect on my janky as dial up modem in the afternoons after school and you can bet every day I was connecting to Battle.net to play Starcraft.

Kazaa was like a really solid ARG mystery, you had to develop a keen eye to detect filename oddness, or recognize that a too-good-to-be-true 20 meg episode of Tenchi was probably 90% viruses.

roommate, so no posting!

Shitting all over the Flyers never gets old. I was super surprised how passive they seemed for most of the game, though. I expected a LOT more physicality and aggression from them, and it just wasn't there. They were playing Rangers hockey, haha.

Seemed like kind of a bullshit penalty towards the end there, and you had to know the Flyers would score on it right away. That's just how that always works. Another deserved shutout squandered at the last moment (Talbot had one of those like a month or so ago too).

Another good night for future captain Ryan McDonagh.

And for the second game in a row the 4th line was clearly the best.

Most importantly, that's 5 in a row! Now to squander our lead over the Flyers during our 4 game Western Conference scrubs roadtrip!


Also, are we sure Tampa Bay actually sent Martin St. Louis to us? Are we sure he's not hiding in some basement or something?

I still have shit on my external harddrive from my Limewire / Kazaa days. Pretty sure I posted this story in NHL-Gaf before, but I tried to download a bootleg copy of The Phantom Menace off of Limewire when it was first released and I the file ended up being Paris Hilton's sex tape.
