Tonight's the night. Caps-Sabres. With so few games left, and Ottawa picking up their game again, this could be the deciding game for who gets the eighth spot. Fuck I haven't been this nervous.. this feels like a Game 7 to get the last seed.
I'm normally pretty pessimistic in times like these, but this team has played so solid for two months that I am cautiously optimistic. Someone's going to score a big goal. Miller is going to make the big save. I think we have a good chance tonight.

Normally I'm still salty with anything Avs. (Remember 96
). Today though I will accept this and passively cheer for the Avs for 5 mins of an Avs game.Still fuming over that Luongo glove save on a shot that would have tied the game.

Honestly I think I would have broken down by then if the Leafs had not won a single Cup. I'm a very patient man but not that patient.
Truthfully speaking though I personally expect the Leafs to be contending for a Cup realistically by around 2017. I'd love for it to be expediated but don't know how plausible that is.

Whoah, Ballard was in rough shape. Room for tons of jokes about comparing his game readiness to the Leafs but when you're sleeping that much a day, it's hardly living at all. Glad he's skating again but sounds like there is a long way to go.

Hall is out for the rest of the year which should help Edmonton's tank, but Randy said today they're going to use the remaining 6 games to "evaluate their young players", dunno how that changes how they've been playing but hopefully it means more losses.
Pretty sure Sylvester and Gare are done for this year.
There is a VERY vocal minority in Vancouver that jumps on him whenever he does something bad, regardless of how many good games he has. He was a Vezina nominee last season and played AWESOME throughout most of the playoffs, he was the only reason we even won 3 games against boston and didn't get blown out in 4, and still everything the loud critics talk about is the 4 losses in the SCF. He's generally vezina-good, with a few hickups from time to time. There's a reason we pay him this much... The vocal minority of critics is just REALLY vocal.
So don't feel too bad, he plays this well quite often, you just never hear about it :/
Ignoring his recent bad spell, he's had plenty of games this season where he's been that good.
