NHL November 2015 |OT| Dan Cleary demands your respect, not your love

Damn. Oh well, a comeback point on the road is better than nothing. And Chris Neil got hit in the face with a stick, so that's always a positive.

On another note, I just got back from Spectre. It was alright.
I didn't even know it was out already, I'll have to check it out. I really enjoyed Skyfall, but Gaf keeps telling me it's garbage and I'm an idiot for liking it.

I like how the Yotes aren't tanking when by all accounts they ought to. It's nice to see.

In unrelated news, Matthews will look real good in blue and white.

It's not as good as Skyfall (very much enjoyed it), but it was still a very entertaining two hours. I also enjoyed the callbacks to previous Craig Bond movies.

I actually spend every waking moment stopping myself from beating up women. It's the curse of being connected by username to the Kings.

And Bless the Sens.

The first part is kind of a bummer. I think Casino Royale is the best Daniel Craig Bond movie so I was hoping Spectre would be close...

I'm an Avs fan so... the second part hits kind of close to home. At least you restrain yourself. Good on you.

Do you Prefer Skyfall or Spectre?

Skyfall still, but Spectre ain't bad at all.

The negative reviews for it may be warranted, but it isn't a disaster like some are making it to be.

GAF's opinions are so fickle, it's not worth dissecting.

Like I said, not as good as Skyfall, but not bad either.

Skyfall wasn't a bad movie, it was just a bad bond movie. It felt like a generic action movie that Matt Damon could have starred in.
QoS was a shitty movie but it felt more of a bond movie than Skyfall.
Casino Royale is still the goat though. top 5 movie of all time for me.

Shootouts are dumb.

Kinda hard to complain about getting a point on the second night of a back-to-back, but I really felt like the Jets could have pulled one out, there.

Hutch stole a point with those late saves, but Little missed like 5 goals so I'm not even sure if we were unlucky to lose or lucky to get to OT. Still, a great road trip to finish 2-1-1.

Best game from Buff this year for sure.

I thought Skyfall was solid especially compared to Quantum of Solace.. which was terrible.

I liked Skyfall a lot. I think Quantum of Solace is a bad Bond film. Casino Royale is still the strongest Craig Bond film

I don't ever rank movies, because my opinions can change, but I can easily rank Craig's Bond movies, because the highs are so high, while the lows aren't too bad.

Casino Royale > Skyfall > Spectre > Quantum of Solace.

Is the movie good to look at like Skyfall was? I'll probably see Spectre but if it's a really good looking film I might splurge for "IMAX" since I won't be seeing Star Wars in "IMAX" because fuck 3d.

I think you're insane. Daniel Craig is by far my favorite Bond... but I'm not a fan of the campy Bond movies.

He is a lot of people's favorite Bond. He is just sterile and generic for me.

I guess it has more to do with the Bourne connection.

Casino Royale > Skyfall > Spectre > Quantum of Solace.

Dang I was hoping the movie to be closer to Casino Royale in terms of quality. I am still waiting for the proper predecessor to CR. :(

It looks good, but doesn't take advantage of really giving a nice view of locations. They're your generic shots of locations, which looks nice, but it can be better. Framing of shots could be better too. Doesn't beat the Scottish highlands shot in Skyfall.

I don't think Star Wars is in 3D is it?

Yep.

The trailer was in my IMAX screening, and it probably wasn't optimized for it, but it looks amazing on the IMAX screen anyway.

Millennium Falcon getting chased by TIE fighters with Leia's theme playing still gives me feels.

Well I'll grab an early bird showing on Sunday or something, no IMAX needed. I bet Star Wars looked great on the bigger screen, I just can't deal with 3d's bullshit. I'd be lining up early for a 2d IMAX showing though.

lol Avs falling apart

I still maintain that the Avs are better than this garbage. It is so frustrating to watch.

Normally I'd agree but.. I saw the 300 sequel on IMAX 3D... Worth. Every. Penny.

You're never going to get that. CR can never be the standard for the franchise. To many people are expecting different things. It's like trying to convince Cherry about NHL practices made popular past the 60s.

If I had the chance, I'd do 2D IMAX for Star Wars. But it probably won't be at ideal times for me.

Man Casino Royale was so good. I find it hard to believe any Bond movie can measure up to it. I might be biased because I have the biggest crush on Eva Green... but... CR is so fucking good.

Last 3d movie I saw was the first Hobbit, and that was only because it was required for the high frame rate. Before that was Avatar. I just can't do it with my glasses and with how much darker the film is because of the glasses. Love the huge screen, hate the forced post converts for every single movie.

But it's ok, I saw the Martian on the 2nd biggest screen the theater had because it was 2d. They had reserved seating so I don't have to line up and rush for a seat, and the seats were actually comfortable.

My eyes blow so I need glasses to see anything a foot in front of my face... Eva Green in 3D made up for everything...

Seriously... 300 in 3D might be the greatest thing my eyeballs have seen.

2 goals for Grossman tonight, first multi goal game of his career. What a time to be alive.

I still maintain that the Avs are better than this garbage. It is so frustrating to watch.

It's not really their fault tonight. I mean, look who they're up against.

Well nobody is beating Roger Deakins in beautiful shots.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
To the surprise of no one, yoda also happens to be obnoxious and insufferable politically as well!

This sequence was particularly amazing:

Accuses people of lapping up PR machine, proceeds to lap up Fox News Canada bullshit about +3 female ministers (in reality, +20% when you look at the proportion).

Sorry for the completely off-topic post. Just had to share. I'd expect yoda to come in here and continue the distortion, but he hasn't shown his face lately for some reason...

Oh man, I got the perfect response to this:

50% female cabinet appointments lead to 5000% increase in guys who suddenly care about merit in cabinet
