HEERRRRREEEETTRIIIIICCCAndersen is absolutely a #1. Great pick up for the Leafs. We got FLEEEEECED.
PTSDYou dumb nerds! Stop worrying now and worry when he lets in the first shot on goal next season.
Andersen's AAV is actually $5 million, not $5.5 million.
HEERRRRREEEETTIIIIICCC
He likely doesn't have the crazy signing bonus clause.Andersen's deal isn't that terribly far off from the David Clarkson special actually
Bobby Mack > Mirtle
Heck, Capfriendly > Mirtle
He likely doesn't have the crazy signing bonus clause.
Can't see any team taking on Bernier for a year without the leafs taking back an equivalent cap dumpTo be fair Lou might have given Mirtle some misinformation so people freak out over $5.5M and then see $5 and say "oh that's way better!!!!"
Edit: they're gonna have to dump Bernier now no? No way Leafs can go with $9M tied up in goalies.
Nah I'm getting excited.
Anderson is a #1 goalie. And come July 1st there is a solid chance Leafs will get Stamkos.

WTF just happened to r/hockey. Stay away from it people

Yikes, 5 years seems a bit much for Freddie. Better get cracking on developing and drafting some goalies.

For just one year I dunno if it's that big of a deal. On Overdrive Lou made it sound like they will be a tandem this year.
That is a lot of money. And we just had a Stanley Cup playoffs where the final four goalies were Matt Murray, Martin Jones, Brian Elliott, and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
For a young team with a rising cap that $5M won't seem as significant a few years from now, but it handcuffs them a bit if they want to sign any big FA skaters.
I would've done a bridge deal myself. See how he does without Anaheim's defence.
Craig Button of all people just said that he likes this Andersen trade and deal on TH2N so now I'm even more scared.

Heretic has said Andersen is a #1 goalie. I'm here to confirm that he is unquestionably a #1 goalie. Don't worry about that. Only thing I'd worry is defense. He can only do so much by himself for stretches of time. Also allows a soft goal or two at times.

Yes please. Id love to have Campbell back now that his cap hit isnt 7+. Itd let Keith/Seabrook pair up again which would help both and Hjalmarsson would have a guy back that he was extremely effective with. Plus if we sign Campbell we might not have the cap space for Shaw.Heard a month ago he waiting to see what Chi was doing before deciding. Expect him there.
doubt
doubt is flooding my heart
If he doesn't work out immediately, we can offer Clayton Stoner to help with the defense.
You'll get another year of Roszival and like it.Yes please. Id love to have Campbell back now that his cap hit isnt 7+. ET Canada is actually covering the Ron Maclean HNIC/Rogers Sportsnet NHL news.
Yes, Entertainment Tonight Canada.
!!!!!!!!I just got home!!!!
This could work out pretty...
...hey wait a minute, I play NHL 16 and Clayton Stoner is a shitty player!
Don't believe EA. It's not always in the game. Stoner has size, physicality and intangibles through the roof.
there is no bridge in this circumstance
1 year would take him to ufa

Carlyle is going to love StonerNice try man Burke ain't our GM no more
Regardless, sounds like a guy Carlyle will play entirely too much!
1 year is still a bridge. Confused why they wouldn't do this. One year, $3M, if he proves himself, give him 4 years $20M. Are they afraid of him pulling a Bobrovsky?
