Also, a reminder on how gross men are

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
To be fair, a lot of men look better as they got older, whereas not a lot of women do. Evolutionary speaking it's not surprising a man would be attracted to a woman at her most fertile age as well, whereas a man's age is not a big factor there.

Rangers couldn't do to the Kings what they did to the Senators. How many Senators fans threw away cold hamburgers last night?

Ducks couldn't finish the Bruins in regulation.

Islanders couldn't beat the Kings on home ice.

Canucks should never wear those jerseys again. I wonder if not being used to playing in them affects their performance.

OH, EHM *is* made by Sports Interactive!

Here is the RPS write-up for those interested:

Game On! Eastside Hockey Manager Returns

By Alice O'Connor on March 26th, 2015 at 9:00 pm.Tweet this

STAT ME UP.

You know, if you’re longing for deeper, stat-heavy, party-managing RPGs, you might not go far wrong with a sports management sim. Beneath the sporting veneer lie all the tactics, behaviours, and numbers you could hope for. Sports games are other games in disguise. I was only taking the piss a little bit with that FIFA demo post calling it real-time tactical action, you know. Football Manager has a fair few fans here at RPS, and now its makers are getting back into ice hockey.

Developers Sports Interactive have revived the long-dormant Eastside Hockey Manager series [official site] with a surprise new game which launched onto Steam Early Access today.

Eastside Hockey Manager started as a freeware game before Sports Interactive picked it up and worked their Football Manager-style magic. However, they only released two games, in 2004 and 2006 for the 2005 and 2007 hockey seasons, before SI and publishers Sega iced the series. Now it’s back, they explain:

“At that time we were not only badly affected by piracy, we were also hit by the way retail used to work, particularly in the US. Boxed copies of the game would fly off the shelves in places where hockey was popular, but would languish in places where it wasn’t – and there was no system in place for those boxes to be shifted from one State to another. Steam wasn’t anywhere near as popular back then as it is now, so we didn’t have a digital solution to this problem like we do now.”

SI explain that they’ve been working on Eastside Hockey Manager in “what little spare time we have”, and are turning to Early Access to pay for hiring new folks to help out. They’re hoping that it’ll also prove the series is viable and let them land licenses for leagues and go ahead with annualised sequels.

They expect EHM to be in Early Access mode for “months, not years” while they polish it up and add a few features. This version’s using ‘fake’ data (because licenses), but it has support to import user-created databases even from older EHM games.

EHM will cost you £9.99 on Steam right now. That price will go up as development progresses.

Hmm just realized I might miss out on the Draft lottery. I'm heading down the states that weekend for a wedding and not back until the Monday night. My groom is stating the bride might impose a "no cell phones" rule while we're down there for the wedding. D:

Dan Myers
Flames coach Bob Hartley said he chatted with Avs coach Patrick Roy a couple days ago: Relayed that Roy is still pissed at @Russostrib.

:lol

Russo, for those that don't remember, is a Wild writer who wrote about the shitshow that happened at the end of one of the games between the Wild and Avs before the final game a few days later. Russo basically said that he wouldn't be surprised if there was more goonery in the following game.

Roy thought Russo was hoping for injury and was encouraging the Wild to attack Avs players and somehow insinuated that Russo is going to be sued or something.

Also just want to note that while Bailey didn't get an assist on that goal, he made a smart positional play at the blueline to obstruct a defender who was locked in on Rielly. Good sign.

So, other than Lawson Crouse who everybody here seems to hate, who else could your team feasibly take in the first round that you don't want them going anywhere near?

fwiw Crouse is definitely a first rounder. it's the top 10 projection which seems awfully dicey considering the talent available.

That's why I said "feasibly" It's mostly fans in that top 5/10 range who seem scared of drafting him for that reason.

The fuck?

The mechanics and actual gameplay are stellar. I'm just bored by the world and the framerate/loading times are startlingly bad compared to what I'm used to from playing the two Dark Souls games on PC. Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. I'll be finishing the game, and for all I know it will become a lot more interesting later on.

I've never been particularly sensitive to framerate so those complaints fly over my head, but being bored by the world? Man, I'm only 3 bosses in and the lore, npc sidestories, design, architecture, creature design are all more dense/intricate/interesting than the previous games. There's so much visually going on in that game, it's absurd. But hey, personal taste and all that...

I don't think Zacha should go top 10. I'd rather have Crouse than him at 8 or 9 where the Flyers will likely pick.

Like I said, it's losing me. I can totally see why someone would love the setting and all of that. But to me, the whole first few sections of the game feel like a retread, albeit an expanded retread, of Demon Souls level 1-3.

I'm borrowing a friend's ps4 to play this and having just played dark souls on PC I don't know if I can get through this whole thing.

As someone that grew up in that period, it really is a great 'slice of life' movie. And some great performances from relatively unknown actors of the time like Matthew McConaughey and Ben Affleck.

I've heard that a lot about Dazed and Confused and it makes me happy. Richard Linklater is great for portraying really natural environments in his movies, he's great

Would Edmonton take Hanifin over a forward? From the outside it seems like they need D more than anything.

Who knows, you would think with Draistl and RNH they'd be okay with what they have down the middle but a lot of people are speculating that they take Strome.

So, Las Vegas expects a formal announcement on expansion fairly soon.

Prospective NHL owner Bill Foley is confident in his plans to land an expansion franchise in Las Vegas.

“There will be a formal announcement soon,” Foley told TSN’s Darren Dreger.

Foley and his Hockey Vision Las Vegas group announced earlier this month that their drive to secure 10,000 season ticket deposits had exceeded the 8,000 mark since they began on Feb. 10.

“We’re really pleased with how it’s going,” Foley said. “Now we want to expand our base to ensure the support we have is as widespread as possible.”

According to TSN’s sources, the corporate sector, including Vegas casinos represent the next phase of the ticket drive and overall market study.
