I think my quest might have glitched? Doing a sidequest in path C
Doing that Sorting Trouble 3 quest and I moved all the boxes out of the way and defeated all of the enemies but I still can't talk to the NPC for some reason. I even went and defeated all of the enemies around the building on the ground and even then I still couldn't talk to him.
I remember running into this glitch and went as far as killing the two enemies from like 2 blocks away or whatever in order to finally talk to the guy.
B and C will each take as long to beat as A. D and E can be done in minutes with Chapter select. The other 21 endings are joke endings. C is all new content. It all depends on how many side quests you do, as well
I started doing some chapter select to finish off quests and upgrade my weapons. But at the Resistance Camp the person lets you just buy the trophies? That's amazing haha. This game..

B can be done much much quicker than A if you mainline it. I'm pretty sure you can do it in like 5 hours if you skip side stuff. I'd recommend doing side quests obviously, but skipping them is much preferable to quitting. Definitely don't step into the spoiler thread til you finish route C.
Hella people do that with every game. At least I have met many many that do. Honestly it often seems to me like people who do this are really into the game and want to get on with it. The story in a videogame is primarily there to motivate the player and if these people don't seem to need any more motivation to get on with it so... O>O>O>O>O>O>
edit: speaking of smash that o button bro, I had to move my dash to circle because my index finger/wrist could not handle this game anymore.

I encountered this myself on second playthrough, while having no issue on the first. Nothing I did would let me speak to him to initialize the quest, unfortunately, even coming back various times, clearing the area, etc. Might be best to just >gameplay spoiler<
Immasamurai is streaming route C and she's super into the story . It's great watching people's reactions to route C. Spoilers Obviously , if you check her out

let the infection timer run out instead of going to the marker just to see what would happen?
Halfway through I started regretting ruining the moment for the sake of science, so I tried to make it, but I ended up getting knocked into a corner and stunlocked by this one jackass biped until the timer ran out. I couldn't stop laughing.
Ending E was something special, with the online integration and all (sorry for deleting your save game all of you that helped me!!), but I feel a bit dissapointed that ending E is not another route that explains all the loose ends or dosn't end on a open ending. I still loved the game to bits, but I guess I had the wrong expectations for ending E.
Just completed route B. LOTS to digest. Route A was nothing to write home about. B fleshes out EVERYTHING, adds huge story plot points, and now I am excited to play route C to learn more.
I can tell this game is building itself up to be something REALLY special. I definitely have gripes with it...the combat is incredible and the enemies are super underwhelming, unchallenging, cannon fodder to the max. This includes the bosses.

Its been a while since a game's music wormed its way into my dreams. Nier (the first) was the last actually (the overworld music, specifically). Automata's following suit.
Any idea when the OST is being released? I desperately need it.

Though I'll have to keep from listening to it all (when I get it) until I beat the game in full. And speaking of, really need to beat this before P5. Hoo boy.
It's not so bad? I did it on hard on my fifth or so attempt with 2B at level 30. Just be super-aggressive and spam enhancement items to increase damage output. Charge up the mirage pod program to do massive damage at the start of the final waves. Maybe I was overleveled
Are sidequests actually going to provide any worthwhile reward in the long run?
I don't mind people using spoilers to provide a better argument for their answer, just be sure to mark/tag them since this is the OT and not the spoiler thread.
I'm in a position where I'm trying pretty hard to get as much narrative enjoyment out of Automata before Persona 5 comes along, because once that game releases, I am dropping all else like I dropped everything to play Zelda -- both of those games are my favorite of all time. I'm trying to avoid an Undertale situation where all of the great story, subversive/unexpected elements, and contextual information about Automata is openly discussed -- it was a big reason I was never really able to get on board with Undertale. I don't want to miss that with Automata, because I love the core thematic pursuits its going for, and I actually do love the combat (despite being easier than other Platinum titles). I find that the sidequests are burning me out on running around and engaging low-level enemies all the time, though, where the main quests actually have the more thoughtful boss encounters, the more wide thematic brushstrokes, etc...
To put it simply, I'm having a hard time enjoying sidequests -- I don't personally feel like I get enough experience point reward to feed back into my character, I feel like the themes are noticeably less poignant, and I'm wondering if any of the sidequests have any bearing on achieving Ending A, B, C, D, or E? If not, I may try to just hit the storyline, and if the ultimate payoff to the main story is big enough, I may go back and do sidequests to maybe polish off a Platinum trophy or something later on when I have more time. The context of that greater narrative might make me see how these sidequests play off of the themes or something that makes them more appreciable.
I did just unlock fast travel which could alleviate the strain significantly -- was literally the last thing I did when I played.
I'd say yes, don't skip side quests, some of the most emotional moments comes from these quests. They're not hot trash like the ones in FFXV, they are well written, onteresting and complements the themes the game explore. I mean, not all of them are that good, but the ones that are good are really fucking good.

You get significantly more experience benefit per play hour doing sidequests than grinding. I never grinded once, did all the sidequests and leveled my weapons, and was like 5 levels above the end boss.
