Quoting myself since returning to borderless window has greatly improved the transitions between different areas. I don't know, maybe the fix does not work properly for me.
How's the game on a 970 GTX? Or should I stick with PS4?

Yes sorry, I said 'Afterburner' when I meant RTSS. (since AB uses RTSS)Okay, so Kaldaien's fullscreen fix actually works fine with Afterburner, but hates RTSS even running.
That's true of any framerate limiter.I've found that Kaldaien's framerate limiter can end up inducing further stutter when you're just barely managing to hit 60fps.
Couldn't maintain 60 fps on anything higher than 1080p. I settled on:
16x Texture Filtering
4x AA
AO on
Shadows Medium
Effects High
There were still some drops in certain areas and situations, but they were small enough that I didn't really notice them with my GSYNC monitor.

And since you can reduce the number of frames buffered from 4 to 1, that also has the potential for less consistent performance if your system is struggling to hit 60 FPS.
Turn off AA entirely. It's MSAA and expensive. You still get postprocessing AA from having AO on.
Really a bummer that this game locks at 60 FPS. Also the lack of a borderless option makes Alt-tabbing a nightmare.
Borderless Gaming works great with it though.
Plus it's essentially a requirement anyways.

The new drivers still don't have a profile for Nier Automata, so expect no change there.Anyone try the new Nvidia drivers on this?
Given the AA/AO thing getting figured out, I'd be ready to take the plunge on this if the full screen bug were fixed. I know I can use borderless gaming, but that's not an acceptable fix to me for many reasons.
So any word on a official patch from Platinum?
I want to get the game but I don't want to jump through hoops, or play the lottery with possible issues.
Is there an ETA or any chatter on official Nier forums?
There is an (unofficial) fix for this. It works great, and is incredibly easy to install. Just plop the files into the N:A directory and you're good to go. You can get it right here.Given the AA/AO thing getting figured out, I'd be ready to take the plunge on this if the full screen bug were fixed. Can I ask what reasons?
Also, Kaldaien's mod does fix the full screen issue, at the cost of performance for some people. If you have a good PC that could be the way to go about it.
Can I do 1080p 60 FPS with this?
GTX 1080 Strix
5820k 4 GHz OC'd
32 GB RAM
It's probably a weird/dumb question, but Im hearing so many different reports I just have to ask.
21:9 support?
21:9 support?
21:9 support?
Weird thing for me is that it drops when I'm just strolling around exploring. Whenever I'm actually in combat it somehow manages to stay at 60.Disabled all AA (not AO) and still getting drops from 60 at 1600p with a GTX1080. It does tend to stay at 60 most of the time but yea in certain sections it just drops.
Has anyone tried the Pre-rendered video fix?

Has anyone had good results with this? From here and the Steam page comments it doesn't seem like this fixes the cutscene stuttering issue.
Borderless Gaming works great with it though.
Anyone know how to disable the yellow PC stats from the patch though?
ctrl + alt + o for OSD
Crtl + alt+ Backspace to confirm if fullscreen is working and a lot of other shit.

Huh, is a 1070 not powerful enough to handle 16x Texture Filtering, Motion Blur, and High shadows at 1440p?6600k/1070/16 GB here
Rolling with:
No AA
AO on
8x Texture Filtering
Motion Blur off
Shadows on Medium
Effects High
This seems to be alright for the most part. There are some dips here and there, but nothing too distracting.
I also have the Fullscreen fix installed, which allows me to run it at 1440.

You can extremely easily do that.
The confusing reports are from people reporting framerates with 8x MSAA enabled.
Resolution?
The DualShock 4 button mod was updated and it has fixed the issue with the prompt above NPCs.
Am I reading that right, the pre-rendered video is god damn mpeg 1 ?
