we were just talking about that last page. There are 4 YoRHa I know of in route C. The one by the oasis, the two junkies (read the last page for more info on them...), and 4S in the forest castle.
Someone mentioned the pods saying "No more black box signals detected", so they might have bit it during the tower incident.
But hey, you can have some hope the innocent YoRHa at the oasis is still chilling there.

It obviously comes from 2B perspective... but the weapon is black and named Cruel Oaths o it should be 9S who owned it(I think he even used it in novella considering where u find it in-game)?
I don't know if weapon stories are related to owners memory tho, probably not.

She secretly got uploaded on the Ark at the end that somehow travels to the Drakengard 1 world and is the real cause behind that one Magic Nuke
I remember that the bomb recipe you get from her in a sidequest had materials that you, the player, could find in the world.

I thought the same, but I doubt we have access to AIM-11s and imaging units, let alone android spines to strip. Jackass is wild.
And to that other question, the ending is the end of YoRHa the androids are still all over the world. It's the poor, throwaway saps that are done.
I like Jackass but this pissed me off. She's basically a heroin dealer. Eventually they lose their mind and go crazy probably killing someone.

so after digesting the cd version in youtube, this ost is ridiculous. totally as powerful as the first nier..... and thats not counting the 8 bit version
I've been listening to both for awhile and Automata has the better music imo.

Chose A2 because I felt she was more "in the right", but changed for 9S after.

Yep! Totally.
I was in the middle of Breath of the Wild when I started but I had to see this all the way through. I did 75% of the sidequests but completely missed the Emil stuff. I felt a twinge of regret after deleting but ultimately I'm glad I did. It was an emotional choice in that moment and I felt justified and proud to give it up to help someone else as others had helped me.
I thought I would go back to Zelda, but nope next day started Automata up again because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Now my plan is to 100% before I do Ending E again, if I ever do it again...

Yup. I'm on route B, but I'm wondering if I should go back and replay Nier first so I can get ALL the feels from Emil, and get a better perspective to compare the two games.

This was the first game in the series I actually played. Otherwise I've watched / read LPs of all the Drakengards and original Nier. I still feel like I have that intimacy with the series despite having not played them till now. Just recommending an alternative in case the gameplay of old is too much to bear through.

I actually read through The Dark Id's LP first, then completed the game, then 100% completed the game AGAIN on hard.
Unlike most, I quite enjoyed Nier's gameplay.

Ah, I missed the word "replay".
The Dark Id too was my gateway into this crazy world, seen all the LPs. I was following along with the D3 LP when "Nier 2" was announced and the thread was freaking out.
I should reach out to him to thank him for that. Wonder how many copies of the games and ultimately Automata he's partially responsible for?
The interesting aspect to endings C and D is that A2 is the second choice in the choice menu. The game basically teaches you often that the first choice is what you should pick (starts quests, usually the right option, etc) but the game also knows that you are far more likely to pick A2.
When I chose A2 first, i thought i was being set up for ending D, but no. Its ending C despite being the "second choice". There are so many times where I thought "THIS GAME FUCKING KNOWS!!!!" and that might have been the biggest one of them. Fuckin Taro knowing how to twist gamers in purposeful directions.

As I said in the other thread. I picked 9S just because I wanted to see his story through. A2 seemed more in the right since 9S had obviously got infected and was going a bit nutso. However I'd spent 30 odd hours following 9S, it'd feel wrong to be to just back down now. Especially when I felt A2 was actually kind of weakly done - I was expecting to play more as her, and see more of her story to be honest.

I wanted to go back and finish some side quests off. I don't really have time for more playthroughs thanks to my insane backlog.

I think I remember reading that Iron Pipe references papa Nier in English, but brother Nier in Japanese. To keep things consistent for both audiences, I suppose.

Taro wasn't really involved in the writing of D2 and only did some video editing late in the development (per Wikipedia) and I don't believe it ties into any of his other works so if that's the reason you are trying to get through it I think you're good to bail
If I recall from the LP I read of it there are a handful of neat things it does narratively but nothing close the others.
Picking 9S must be canon to set up Ending E because all of the YorHa units have to die to initiate data salvage.
(Warning: fan wank) The Ark also has to blast off into space so the machines can go on to become the Watchers and create the dragons and complete the Drakenverse time loop... or something. Parallel timelines means it's all canon though.

I think it's interesting how he talks about him wanting people to play through his games themselves and not watch on youtube(or twitch or w/e) and that's another reason he included the game save deletion. I can totally understand why he feels that way.
By the same token, up until Nier Automata, I can totally understand why people just watch it on youtube due to the game play.
I feel like Platinum and him are a match made in heaven because finally we have a great story which is backed up by really solid and enjoyable game play. I really hope they continue the partnership.
I'd normally agree with you if it weren't for Drakengard 3 and Accord being a thing
(To make it clearer: Drakengard 3 basically posits that all endings are canon in some way or another. Its very much an SMT kind of situation i guess.)
