So, this was one of the holy shits? I'm in, I love the Blasphemous team. Looks awesome! Pretty sure that was a first time for me. First game shown is a reveal and something I'm into, lol.

Can't believe I'm saying this, the violence feels a little bit over the top. But it's a mashup between the NES games and newer games.

I think there’s a reason why they teased Ryu in the trailer, other than for pure recognition for those who know the series. Knowing Team Ninja, this will definitely be the start of a new age for Ninja Gaiden, with a new and proper 3D entry likely in the works with Hayabusa at the forefront. Call it wishful thinking, but as a fan of the series for over a decade, TN’s decision-making and tactics are something I’ve studied painstakingly lol.

The game itself looks absolutely SLICK as hell, and literally looks like the old NES games modernized. But, let’s all not make any mistakes here… This isn’t the only thing NG-related that we’ll be seeing from TN. This shit is just the start, I can feel it.

The main character in blue clearly isn't Ryu though. Reverse grip sword. More acrobatic.

But yeah I expect Ryu is lead on any main games still.

Man, it has been my dream for all my life to get "Ninja Gaiden 4"...

The Xbox games are cool and all, but that whole Itagaki series missed me somehow; I just love jump- and- slash.

This formula is pretty different in the combat system (you'd have to be insane to make a game today with the respawning enemies and invisible jumps like the OG NGs,) but I really like the mix of play techniques on display so far. And i enjoy this developer, even if they aren't Japanese. They have old school flair

So radical!

Ryu was in the trailer, along with the new guy. The ninja in the black suit (Legendary Black Falcon), and with the green eyes was Ryu. That’s what I was getting at when I said they teased his presence in the game.

I am VERY INTERESTED in Kenj Mozu, btw.
He’s a brand new character for the series with an entirely unknown background, but is a Hayabusa villager. It also looks like Ryu will be or has been training him directly, perhaps getting him ready to protect the village during his absence? Kenji also seems like he’s fiery, but still mild-mannered and focused enough to do what he was called to.

He also looks to have a very similar looking katana to the Dragon Sword? Perhaps it’s simply for recognition purposes, or maybe there’s a story element attached. In any case, we know very little about Kenji Mozu, but color me extremely interested to learn more about him!

2D = lame

The franchise deserves Ninja Gaiden 4 (3D)
The franchise started its life with 3 of the most iconic and beloved 2D side scrollers in gaming, of which are still looked at by many fondly. There’s nothing “lame” about this new game being 2D.

Will there hopefully be a new 3D entry with Ryu front and center down the road? I think so. However, to call what is essentially a return to form for the franchise, “lame”, is having a total misunderstanding of what Ninja Gaiden is.

Even though I wasn't particular fan of playing Blasphemous, this looks interesting. Somehow it has some ressemblance to Shinobi 3.
