neo is one of the best posters on GAF, hands down. Thanks for those!

I'm just wondering where you get these. Any particular 2ch thread? I kind of don't come accross any hmm...

So is this the official 3DS thread for now? I think I've seen a couple of others recently, but this one seems to be the most active.

Also first Steel Diver and Splinter Cell scores. Not the best, but not terrible at all.
Word that there aren't a lot of missions in Steel Diver has me worried about the game. Score wise I figure it might not be for everyone considering the type of game it is. The game still looks interesting but whether or not it's worth the full price is a factor now. I've been waiting for reviews that cover the content (how much of it there is) and this the first look at the game that addresses it to any degree. If this keeps up it might just be removed from the list.

Are the 3d pictures comparable to the cross-eyed/parallel viewings you can find online? Yeah, it's a novelty. However, I managed to continually return to the DSi camera and have bundles of fun with the cheap gimmicks available.

Can I expect similar from the 3DS in relation to 3D pictures?
The 3D pictures on the 3DS use the 3D screen like everything else, no cross-eye or parallel. The cameras are exactly the same as on the DSi, and I think it still has all the cheap gimmicks and stuff you can use to play around with the pictures.

Thank you for the reply, but I may have phrased what I was asking badly!

I understand the screens and method of viewing is the same throughout the 3DS, what I was wondering was how comparable 3DS pictures captured by the in built camera are to the numerous cross-eyed pictures you can find online.

Are they of a similar quality? Or does the mileage vary from how well produced a cross-eyed picture is?

Silly questions about the 3DS:

1) How do DS games look like on it? Can you play them in 3D or 2D only?

2) How much better is the new screen when compared to the previous DSes? (Note: I am coming from an original DS)

I'm really interested in picking one up at launch even if there aren't any games at launch for me (I can just play my DS games, I've toughed it out with my OG DS but the OG stylus and the shell really isn't comfortable/ergonomic for my hands, just like my own problems with the PSP1000). I want RER/M but I don't know when those come out though.

Have there be any additional reviews or extensive previews of Pilotwings, aside from Eurogamer. I must know if it's worth preordering.

Also, any new high res pics of the black 3ds?

I can open them and even put them in a 3D photo frame, but I was wondering what they were - what was their source, were they just BS pictures someone made, or what?

Hold your horses now I figured it out, my old standby Irfanview opened it. I only see what looks like one widescreen image though, the first one is from SMB.

I guess these are supposed to be leaked screenshots from 3D Classics maybe?

yes, i believe in you again!

A bit of a tangent. I mentioned previously I was thinking about taking black and blue 3DSes and switching their buttons. I got the necessary screwdriver sizes and all, but figured it would be a Good Idea to get some practice in on something a step above wiimote. So I switched buttons on blue and silver GBASPs. Face buttons not a big deal. Shoulder buttons more of a hassle, figuring out how to properly reinsert the spring mechanism. The worst was when I got them back together and one would run, but not display anything. As it turns out I pulled the ribbon connecting to the top screen a bit too much. With some hassle I figured out how to get the flimsy thing back in place, and now things are good. I suppose any sort of DS is still yet another step up in trouble, since there's actually an exposed screen in the midst of everything.

If you have the NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit, you just open these in the viewer or double click on them like a normal file and they show up as 3D.

You can get the software free, but it does you no good really without the kit.

The mpo files worked fine on the 3DS. Just copied them to the images folder. The Pokemon one looks awesome. Not sure what the VB looking game is but it looks awesome as well.

So are they actually in 3D? Do you think they're leaked 3D Classic screenshots? Or just Virtual Console?

Half of those are in the wrong resolution and aspect ratio. They've got to be mockups (though if someone can make them cross-eyed or whatever I'd appreciate it. It'd be neat to see how Sonic and Mario look).

Yeah, I'm pretty interested in the Pokemon one.

It's a really fake mockup of the VB game "Red Alarm", showing 7 copies of the player's ship for some reason (something that never happens during the game).

I love it, best 3D effect I have seen so far.
I love doing stop motion with the iPhone, and I want a 3DS now even more than this morning.

Wonder if there would be a way to see such stop motion animations on 3DS though.

Maybe some kind of 3D Flipnote with photo support will come at some point...
