So it's a dead end. Couldn't we at least knoe the amount of RAM ?
There are three big chips on the PCB. One is manufactured by Toshiba - most likely flash, and probably the only chip that can be easily identified. Then there's the main SoC, "CTR-CPU", with Nintendo and ARM markings, but there's no manufacturer logo (Renesas would be my guess). That thing is as custom as it gets. The third chip, most likely the RAM, is manufactured by Fujitsu. The only type of RAM Fujitsu manufactures is FCRAM, and the DS and DSi also use Fujitsu FCRAM, so that makes sense. The thing is that we know the system has more than 16MB RAM, and that's the biggest FCRAM chips on Fujitsu's website. They're also typically rectangular, while the chip inside the 3DS is square. Custom as well.

May the divine force hear you. I am no NGP hater at all but I am more enclined to spend money on only one system. And I guess the 3DS has the upper hand right now.

Nothing will hurt as much as buying an NGP solely for the Persona series. :(

Persona games are 3DS-bound as was confirmed in the 3DS game list at E3.

I can finally make Mario run in perfect circles in Super Mario 64 DS. Good job, Nintendo!
True reason for the addition of the circle pad finally revealed!

I guess we're left with charcoal in the jaws. Fucking Nintendo. But why not after all. There will simply not be any expectations, and we'll never know the graphics cap for sure.

Deep within me though, I am disappointed with the 133 ppi screen. I wish we had like, well just 50 ppi more. Would have been enough to draw distant objects that wouldn't look like shit :(

Budget release, over a 100 levels, multiple characteres, level editor, only tilt controls and no 3d.

More screenshots in the website

Personally, I'm so happy they dropped 3d because they decided to focus on tilt. Hopefully we get more of this and touchscreen games.
No 3D is great news.
I'm glad they don't feel forced to use it.

I like 3D but I don't it forced on devs.

Uhh woops, I got carried away with the festivities and ended up buying 3, when I only have need for one: Any tips on getting rid of the others ones in a way that I won't lose money?

Wait, what is this about the slide pad?

Is it actually enabling 360° control, i.e. by patching the game? Or does it just kind of feel like it, just acting as an 8-way input?

i'm sure it isn't but you could hack in interpolation. so like, if you're at 11 o clock, it does diagonal for a fraction of a second and then forwards for two fractions of a second.

i'm sure it's just more natural to use in a platformer even if it's still digital movement. i've always felt shmups with eightway direction were more playable on a stick than a d-pad for example.

come on guys with Ridge Racer and Super Monkey Ball i need IMPRESSIONS.

Charging my 3DS right now. There was a pretty big line at the Toys R Us, but I made my reservation back in October at the WonderGoo next door so no wait for me. : )

It was kinda sad to see some kids arriving late for the Toys R Us line and freaking out. One kid was nearly in tears, asking his dad over and over: Dou sunno? Dou sunno?

Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait! So is the system sexy now, or is it still ugly? Cause a few days ago, I still remember the general consensus saying the 3DS is an ugly piece of hardware, but now people are saying it's sexy. Which is it?

Okay, the world makes sense again.

Still, even that would be a nice improvement over the d-pad.

Yeah I found Mario 64 DS unplayable with the D-pad. It's a shame too since I really wanted to play through it again. Hopefully the slide pad really does make it better.
