There are three big chips on the PCB. One is manufactured by Toshiba - most likely flash, and probably the only chip that can be easily identified. Then there's the main SoC, "CTR-CPU", with Nintendo and ARM markings, but there's no manufacturer logo (Renesas would be my guess). That thing is as custom as it gets. The third chip, most likely the RAM, is manufactured by Fujitsu. The only type of RAM Fujitsu manufactures is FCRAM, and the DS and DSi also use Fujitsu FCRAM, so that makes sense. The thing is that we know the system has more than 16MB RAM, and that's the biggest FCRAM chips on Fujitsu's website. They're also typically rectangular, while the chip inside the 3DS is square. Custom as well.Kenka said:So it's a dead end. Couldn't we at least knoe the amount of RAM ?

Nothing will hurt as much as buying an NGP solely for the Persona series.

I can finally make Mario run in perfect circles in Super Mario 64 DS. Good job, Nintendo!

I guess we're left with charcoal in the jaws. Fucking Nintendo. But why not after all. There will simply not be any expectations, and we'll never know the graphics cap for sure.wsippel said:There are three big chips on the PCB. Personally, I'm so happy they dropped 3d because they decided to focus on tilt. Hopefully we get more of this and touchscreen games.

The latter.zigg said:Wait, what is this about the slide pad?
Is it actually enabling 360° control, i.e. by patching the game? Or does it just kind of feel like it, just acting as an 8-way input?

Yay!Cheesemeister said:3DS GET!
i'm sure it isn't but you could hack in interpolation. so like, if you're at 11 o clock, it does diagonal for a fraction of a second and then forwards for two fractions of a second.zigg said:Wait, what is this about the slide pad?

Still, even that would be a nice improvement over the d-pad.
