Not sure about Japan, but black will definitely sell better in North America. You can use the bestseller rank on Amazon for each color as a barometer. Plus, lots of people just don't like colorful things.

I did this as well, but plan on keeping one, haters gonna hate but if i can get about $400-$500 for the second unit, then it would make the one i keep about even

I have always thought it looked fantastic. My only complaint is the nub being a different colour.
