Hmm, 8-4Play start talking about the friends list, but then don't mention the things everyone was asking about i.e. can you message people etc. !

Never expect much from Nintendo in online and then you can't really be disappointed. At least I try to tell myself that, but it still pisses me off.

The impressions on comfort with the 3D don't sound good.

So shocking! /sarcasm. I'm so glad we got the slider.

Does Street Fighter support voice chat?

Ridge Racer sounds a lot better than I was expecting. It would be a definite purchase if Namco actually bothered to add online multiplayer.

I'm a bit late for this, but everyone up until now believed that the 3DS stretches DS games with no option to view it in the original aspect ratio, but that 1UP video of SMB64 proves otherwise!

Was this ever explained?

Unfortunately, we didn't get to do too much with online.

From what I can tell though, there isn't any sort of messaging service, which is a big fail. You however can see if your friends are online and you can see what game they are playing. Which is a definite step up from....absolutely nothing.
That's... disappointing.

Does the 3DS do videos too or only photos?

Also, does someone have a splicing app that works on Windows? I want to see these images in cross-eyed format.
I ran across this set of tools to convert from MPO to a few JPEG formats, but the first test image I tried (from the previously-linked-to page of MPO images) didn't seem to work with it. Don't know what was at fault.

AWESOME
Thank you so much. If you could do the same for a few more it would be greatly appreciated for those of us without Macs.

The cat one and the last one outside are particularly impressive.

Nintendo agreeing once again that Wind Waker link is the greatest link. :salute:[/QUOTE]
Or just because it's their standard design for their Zelda handheld titles ;).

I used this program which opens up an MPO into its 2 separate images. Then I printscreen it and flip the images in photoshop.

MPO isn't a Mac file. If you've got the right program you can open it up and see two pictures (left/right). This is also the same for JPS files as well.

Works fine for me. Kind of a pain in the ass because you have to manually stitch the output together but it's not a huge deal.

Thanks for the link.

Nope, because Wind Waker link is the greatest Link. Deal with it.
You're awesome.

Well this is even better, no manual stitching required.

Thanks.

Edit: Are you sure you have to flip them in photoshop? It seems to work fine for me with no flip...

By default I get the inverse 3D effect, a cutout of everything. Flipping them makes stuff pop out the way it should.

EDIT: Guess I shouldn't say flip, I just drag the left image over to the right side.

And even i am moderately surprised
B/C looks a bit -meh- between DSL and 3DS - seems slightly scaled , washed out and has strange artifacts. Not a deal breaker, but hey :

I prefer the colours on the 3DS shot - the DSL looks a little 'blue'? Or is that just the photo? Does look a bit sharper on the DSL though.

Thanks !

The depth effect seem to be more "efficient" than in 3D movies. As in, in the outdoor pic, you can still tell apart elements in the far background, whereas in 3D movies I found that most of the time only objects in the foreground seem to have depth between them. Might be just me though.

it seems in line with something like RR7 or RR2 PSP, in that the actual content is somewhat indeterminable from the start due to the huge number of events. i can't imagine there not being enough, anyway.

okay and i can confirm that winning eleven has pretty reasonable-sounding commentary with player names etc, in japanese at least! if you've ever watched a football match in japanese you'll know that realistic commentary in that language is probably a whole lot easier to recreate, though.

How's the framerate in Ridge Racer?

So, taking into account pics can be exported and converted to cross-eye, how much time until we have 3D penis pictures floating around?

You didn't have power save mode on, right? I hear that the power save mode washes out the image a little.

It's definitely not just you.

3D movies are wholly unimpressive to me.

This stuff is fantastic, though.

Here's a slideshow of Gundam models in Youtube 3D format, supposedly taken with a 3DS.

Thanks, not surprised. Do you know what holding down Start and the different D-pad directions does for DS games? There was something about it in the manual.

Agreed- if anything, the DS Lite colors look washed out there (character skin tone, text bar with yellow background).

I think it was answered previously in this thread: Up and down change the brightness and left and right change the power saving mode on and off I believe?

Ah that makes sense thanks, it did look power related.

Did anyone say what nintendo zone is?
As far as I know - it's the same (or similar) DS download station software as with the DSi. I think you can play demo's and watch games trailers and such (as long as you are in range of the download station)

eh? I think I also prefer the 3DS shot, but I think its because of the power save option, but to tbh, its only a small difference, so I dont think its a big deal...

Looking at the AR Card Wind Waker link makes me reaaally hope for Wind Waker Remake with those added dungeons. I don't normally hope for remakes but boy that'd be so awesome. So awesome. Why Ocarina of Time always gotta get the re-releases! Try Majora's Mask or Wind Waker, Nintendo!

I was going to post a reply about how I wished Nintendo latched on to MM or WW as much as they did with OoT, but by the time I hit quote you already edited that stuff in. Good show.

But yeah seriously, I'd be all over a Majora's Mask or Windwaker 3D edition. Could you imagine the Molgera battle from WW with the 3D effects? God. Damn.

On all these cross-eye pictures I see the 3D "backwards" (The foreground objects have more depth than the background stuff). I hope once I get my hands on a 3DS I can see everything properly. :/

Is youtube 3D buggy for anyone else today ? Nothing happens when I click on the 3D menu and the screen is black...

It has always been working, and was still working a few days ago >_<

You have to click it a few times I've noticed. If that doesn't work, close your browser and retry.

eeek, well each to their own - it's night and day for me - the DSL is way ahead, though it's not a surprise and neither is it a deal breaker in any way.

but I think its because of the power save option

it's not - Power save is off and i've dropped the screen brightness down - it's just washed out. :/

Also - to note - the shot is taken with the game running (well, not on the DSL, i pulled the cart out) from the -same- photo. The weird looking text on the 3DS? that's how it looks , it's not a function of the photograph.

There's a reason for that.

The person creating the image or video or whatever didn't swap the two images.

If you're viewing through a program you will also need to swap the images in order to get the right effect.

He's specifically referring to the color tone of each shot. The 3DS shot is more faithful to the way the game looks on my DS too (artifacts aside, where clearly the DS has the advantage). Seems your pictures you took just came out weird.
