Nintendo Comments On 3DS Error Screen

The only game I ever had an issue with freezing/BSOD was Shadow Wars. First freeze was both screens went black, second freeze was the error message.

After having errors on Grecon with wifi on, reporting back after a few long sessions that wifi off sees me have zero crashes so far.

Happy to assume wifi is to blame. Hopefully it never impacts upon wifi enabled multiplayer games.

The funniest part is that Ghost Recon doesn't have a single wifi option of any kid at all. Not even local multiplayer.

Looks like Ghost Recon is one of the most common reasons. I'll play it with Wifi off, thanks.

I played Pilotwings, Steel Diver, Ridge Racer, SSFIV, Nintendogs (only 90 minutes) and no black screen.

I played Super Monkey Ball 3D and I had 5 black screens..

Got the error yesterday while playing Ghost Recon with wifi on. I hadn't heard about the error until it happened. I turned off the wifi then played for another hour without any problems.

Put me down for getting one in Ghost Recon with wifi on. First one in about 5 hours of play, happened coming out of a skirmish map when it was supposed to be loading back to the main menu.

Pretty funny story. I had my 3DS for four days and only played Pilotwings and regular DS games. ALWAYS with WiFi on...

...Then I decided to play Ubisoft's Rayman 3DS...And I opened the Rayman case, took out the card, and BEFORE I even put the game in, and with the card 3 inches away from the 3DS, the error screen pops up.

I just thought it was funny that it just pops up for the first time when an Ubisoft game comes within 3 inches of it.

It definitely seems to be the wi-fi at this point, so I'd like to know which kind of routers you guys are using. I know that there has been speculations about some western routers being the cause since no one in Japan seems to have encountered this specific problem. Would be very interesting to see if that's the case.

This is obviously no proof, but until I see someone saying that they got the error when the wi-fi was turned off, I'm going to consider it very likely that the wi-fi is somehow part of the problem.

I've gotten the error over 5 times now with rayman, star wars, street fighter, and using the OS, all with wi-fi on. I am THIS close to sending it into Nintendo for repairs. I'm going to take wifi off and see if it still happens.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G 2.4 G. No errors yet. Go go Cisco!

I'm using a 2wire 2800 home portal router. I dont think it's the router at fault in my case, it's just that the signal is weak in my room. I should just get a switch and plug those Access Points to improve my signal for myself.

Try without the Wifi first. Then if there's no issue try to be as close as possible to the router and manually configure a ip and dns address and take it from there.

I figured that it is a problem with Wifi as well. It seems to have problems with low or spotty signals.
