Nintendo Downloads - April 2015

It's been out for over a week in Europe and JP. Someone must've gotten far enough already to know if they're still there.

Yeah, word has trickled back that apparently this and Jetpack are still in.

Edit: Beaten and misspelt 'Jetpac'. What do you want, I'm North American :p

Is there a significant difference in that and the NES VC version of "Dokey Kong Original Edition"?

Not 'significant', no. There's some differences in sound, graphics, resolution, etc, as well as some extra screens ('How high can you get?' screen). Not a big deal for some, a nice historical artifact for others (even if it is a port). This video seems to do a good job showcasing the two versions:

Really hope NWF comes too. I'd so LOVE to get a New 3DS game out there. ZaciSa would work so much better as a handheld game. Heck, this new game I'm making would transition well too.

You could even add an shocking new control scheme for ZaciSa multiplayer. Have one player use the touchscreen normally, and have the other player hold the system upside down and use the buttons/top screen to play as a drone! Truly innovative!

Given we know Pandora's Tower is in the downloads, I don't really expect anything else of note.

Maybe a sale from a game that you are in doubt about purchasing... (just like SMT IV).

Optimism people!!! (Terranigma for E3 bwahahaha)

Select your fishing spot, cast your line and pull when you get a bite, but be careful not to break the line or you'll lose both fish and bait! Each catch will earn you money and increase your rank, enabling you to purchase new rods and aquariums, and access new locations.

StreetPass Mii Plaza - StreetPass Zombies (Nintendo, Add-on) - €4.99/£4.49

Good week, all told!

Discounted Pandora's Tower, Elliot Quest, A-Train, StreetPass games and plaza update, Smash Bros. DLC, 3D Fantasy Zone II and a P&D demo. Wow!

Still a bit sour that the Plaza update isn't either free or free with both games.

A demo, Mewtwo and some costume packs for me then. Good week! :)

Oh yeah, maybe that Mii plaza vip thing as well. Not yet convinced by it. :/

I think he means with buttons, not just on the GamePad.

Since it's a game using the pointer, I don't think it's possible (can you even use buttons for Wii games?). What, I played the original and didn't even know Pro Controller was supported... I shudder at the idea of playing it without the pointer, though.

That or misunderstanding my part.

JoeM86 is probably too busy with Pokémon Shuffle, so here goes:

Oh ye of little faith. I was done with that almost 2 hours ago. Master of puzzle games, me.

Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Edition will be mine! Well the demo at least, until the game comes.

I don't think Pandora's Tower is a really big game, it doesn't have that many cutscenes... if only I could find that list with the size of various Wii games : /

Well if someone was to download an ISO of it, somehow, they'd have to download 3.1GB of data.

Yep! Only need to know the file size...

The Japanese version is 2709mb. Probably be the same here in the west.

Pandora will be mine! I need to scratch my Catlevania itch, since people have been making those comparisons.
Mario & Dragons demo will be mine too.

KingSnake

The Birthday Skeleton
If the Gamepad implementation is specific for this game and not generic for all the Wii games compatible with Classic controller, I wonder if it's optimised in any way.

When is the Smash tournament update coming?

Also... whats the date on MK8 dlc2 again?

Pandora´s Tower this week

We complain a lot about the WiiU release schedule but to be fair... there´s a lot of game on the eshop already.
I just wish nintendo took these months without retail releases and said "You know what? Its VC month! Every Nes/SNES/GBA/N64/DS/Wii game is 75% off! Including new releases!"

We should start getting footage of the new tracks in the MK8 Dlc soon surely if only 10 days left. Wanna see Waluigi Pinball in HD!

Two of the tracks will maybe be
Neo Bowser City
and
Baby Park
.

Level text for them was added with the last DLC, but they obviously don't appear.

Pandora's Tower is playable with Gamepad, isn't?

First wii game I'll purchase if true.

This is so sad because it's worse that way. This is a game that is undoubtedly better with a Wiimote+Nunchuk combo. Just like S&P 2.

Pandora will be mine! I need to scratch my Catlevania itch, since people have been making those comparisons.
Mario & Dragons demo will be mine too.

Just make sure to know it's not SotN-Castlevania. It's not Metroidvania-Castlevania. It's a Castlevania-Castlevania. Meaning you're a guy with a whip bashing monsters. That's it. Don't want anyone coming back here complaining this isn't SotN.^^

NOE site confirms it too.

It can see a Gamepad icon on the Controller frame.

Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies will be playable with Gamepad too.

Off-TV time!

We've known this since January. And both games are better with a Wiimote so I don't get why anyone is excited about this.

We should start getting footage of the new tracks in the MK8 Dlc soon surely if only 10 days left. Wanna see Waluigi Pinball in HD!

They posted updates on Wednesdays, I believe, during the lead-up to the first pack.

Because I can replay it while I am watching football matchs.

And Sin & Punishment is perfect to play (30-40 mins) lying down before to sleep. No turn on tv, take the controllers and aim.

Not 'significant', no. There's some differences in sound, graphics, resolution, etc, as well as some extra screens ('How high can you get?' screen). Not a big deal for some, a nice historical artifact for others (even if it is a port). This video seems to do a good job showcasing the two versions:

I never played DK 64, but looking at some videos, it seems you only have 1 life when playing the DK arcade game during the game. When you eventually unlock the game and can play it from the gallery, does it give you more than 1 life? In other words, is it more like the arcade game at that point?

This is so sad because it's worse that way. This is a game that is undoubtedly better with a Wiimote+Nunchuk combo. Just like S&P 2.
Yeah, absolutely, both games are so much better with Wiimote+Nunchuk that I was surprised they added the classic controller option in the first place. Trying to play S&P2 decently on any difficulty other than easy with stick controls is pretty much impossible. I love Off-TV play but these two games were obviously designed to be played with pointer controls.

Just make sure to know it's not SotN-Castlevania. It's not Metroidvania-Castlevania. It's a Castlevania-Castlevania. Meaning you're a guy with a whip bashing monsters. That's it. Don't want anyone coming back here complaining this isn't SotN.^^
Well, I get what you're saying, but the game has fairly complex maps that get progressively more twisted, with locked doors and matching keys, puzzles, shortcuts, etc, so it is kind of Metroid-like in some parts. But yeah, I know what you mean.

Noooooooooooooooo PazuDora demo....8 PLAYS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR ME NINTY!
Aw, man, you're killing me here. I've been really looking forward to this demo since it's the only chance I'll get to check the game out. Time to not play anything else on the 3DS for a long time, I guess, but that's gonna be hard to manage with Pokemon Shuffle -__- *sigh of the ages*

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
I don't know about Pandora's Tower, but I can vouch for S&P2 that having the Wiimote is much better because your arm movement is much faster than the analog stick controlling the cursor, which is vital for that type of game when enemies are coming at you from all sides.
