So what are everyone's thoughts on DS games on the Wii U? My big concern is how will these work on the next system....or hopefully it'll be emulated on the next handheld. I'm just concerned that I'll purchase them and it'll be locked to Wii U forever. I really want to buy a few of them but his lingers in the back of my mind.

i'd say hold off until the NX is fully revealed. DS games haven't gone on sale yet. i'd definitely wait for that. the emulation isn't as good as GBA atm.

Minor nitpick, but that is the title of a Fire Emblem game different from the one that just released in Japan. The one in question is actually called Shin Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken. :)

You are right. I read upcoming releases on a web and I didn't check the titles with the kanjis.

Eh, if there's anything you should be worried about carrying forward, it's the Digital Wii releases. The way those work is very specific to the Wii U's hardware.

I'm not too worried about the DS games. With everything we know about Nintendo's next hardware, I find it difficult to believe that they won't be compatible with any of it.

Just had a SpotPass delivery of the Bravely Second demo. Presumably I can just repeat this demo 10 or so times to get the correct experience. ;)

My only quibble with Teslagrad is that the dash move has this lightning move that is brutally sensitive for me with chronic migraines. So I couldn't play the game. But for most people that won't be an issue.

I grabbed The Legend of the Dark Witch 2 and it's great! All around improvement over the first game, and at least on the default difficulty, the bosses no longer feel like brick walls to progress (without grinding). I had to play the first game on easy and I'm still struggling in my PC replay on normal.

Highly recommend Dark Witch 2 to any Mega Man fans. The first game is good too, but the second game really nails it. Amazing options menu too, lets you change how the 2D platformer camera moves! I prefer the character dead center at all times, but you can change it to give you more of a peek toward the direction you're moving or other stuff.

Is there a Dark Witch 2 OT, and if not would anyone else actually post in it?

The Wii U port of The Deer God is done and has been submitted to Nintendo for lotcheck. Mobot Studios handled the port - a good sign, since their ports on the Wii U have been pretty good.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.
The Popolocrois / Harvest Moon game is out next week in Europe???
It has a game page in the eShop, which games only tend to get a week before release...

Yeah, I agree! It seems like an improvement over the first game. I had a lot of fun with it. There is an OT: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1159082

Ok, I'm hoping this is a good place to ask.

I haven't purchased anything digitally on my old original 3DS, which I also haven't touched since Animal Crossing came out.

My question is.. I recently got a couple of Nintendo cards, and was thinking of picking up Bravely Default, but I might want to get an XL in a couple of months (or just wait for the NX if there is backward compatibility...), but I don't know how game transfers work with Nintendo.

I heard something about a Nintendo account coming (maybe only a rumor), but I'm guessing it isn't ready yet. Do they let you migrate games from one system to another? I don't want to buy a game for a system that I probably won't have in a year.

Part 3 of our Let's Play of Wind Waker HD: https://youtu.be/J7eFlZegLY8

The whole 'talking while playing' gig is actually a lot harder than I thought it'd be, I keep mistaking the Bokoblins for Moblins, but we manage to head off from Outset Island in this video.

I hope people are still interested in watching these, I think we're having interesting conversations as we play, and we're really enjoying making these videos.

You've always been able to do wholesome wholly system transfers (needs internet connection on both devices). Only thing that doesn't get transferred are wi-fi settings, afaik.

Replay: VHS is not dead is coming to Wii U eShop in EU on 2/25. Hopefully comes to NA also. It's from Neko Entertainment and I adore their game Kung Fu Rabbit.

Looks really clever and fun.

there's no way an indie game is coming out in EU and not in NA so it's just a formality because the EU eShop updates with upcoming games sometimes :)

Glad to hear it. Thanks! I hope the game is fun, it looks great. Maybe I'll see if I can put together a giveaway for NE.

Yeah, it was a joke about "wholesomeness." No harm intended!

Okay. I thought there was some problem with the characters in Bravely Default. While I don't have Bravely Default, I figure Fire Emblem is probably more questionable in that manner, anyways. (Senran Kagura is a whole 'nother beast.) I love Fire Emblem, though, so I didn't want to accidentally get in a 'pot calling the kettle black' situation. :lol

Thanks. I thought there was something like that, I just never messed with it since I usually get games physically.

He owns Bravely Default and probably Senran Kagura. I don't know if wholesome is the right word.

Is there something weird with BD? I'm only interested because I heard it was a worthy follow up for fans of old-school Final Fantasy.

BD has some somewhat perverted dialog here and there, mostly as comic relief. Nothing really worse than Don Corneo's place in FF7, but if you consider some characters were underage in the Japanese release then it can be a bit creepy.

As for the game itself, it's pretty fantastic IMO, but just know that the final stretch of the game is really daunting and for some people it seems downright insulting. It would be impossible to explain without spoiling things.

I personally felt like FF 4HoL was an overall better game but most would probably like BD more.

Played the Stella Glow demo. Seemed pretty solid mechanically, sadly it stopped right when it gets interesting
and Lisette turns into a witch.

Character designs are alright, aside from Hilda

what's the deal with that. Music is cool.

Will most likely buy it as I'm in the mood for a smaller scale SRPG like FFT.

I keep looking over the 3DS Virtual Console offerings...I can't decide if there's any "must plays" on the list. Anyone have any favorites that are worth checking out?

I like platformers, such as the classic Mega Man series (there are 5 Game Boy games and 6 NES games). The Kirby series is good too (Kirby's Adventure and Dream land 1 and 2). Sonic the Hedgehog 3D classic is nice; it has a stage select. I've also played a lot of the original Super Mario Bros.
