What I expect to definitely be there:
  • Smash Bros., new trailer
  • New characters revealed for Smash Bros.
  • Release date for Smash Bros for 3DS
  • Bayonetta 2, new trailer + Release date
  • Hyrule Warriors, new info, new trailer + Release date
  • Monolithsoft's X, new details, story trailer, release window
  • Yarn Yoshi, new info, trailer + release period
  • SMT x FE re-reveal w/ real trailer + info
  • Sonic Boom new info, new trailer
  • Miyamoto's new IP revealed
  • Another 3rd party collaboration that was previously unannounced ala SMT x FE and Hyrule Warriors
  • Zelda Wii U
  • Localization announcements for 3DS games
  • NFC project

What I hope for that is reasonable:

  • Pokken Fighters
  • New Metroid
  • Majora's Mask 3D
  • More remakes/HD or enhanced ports of Gamecube or 3DS games such as Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Galaxy, etc.
  • New Fatal Frame details and trailer
  • A Mario Sports game for console (Strikers, Tennis, Golf, etc.)
  • Further expansion of Virtual Console and NNID
  • Next Level Games' new title (which may be something else mentioned here)

What would be pleasantly surprising:
  • New Metroid Prime
  • New F-Zero
  • New Star Fox
  • New Advance Wars
  • New Kid Icarus
  • New Punch-Out
  • Another New IP apart from Miyamoto's
  • eShop accessible with NNID via the Internet on your computer
  • Retro's new title (which may be something mentioned here)
  • Platinum games collaborating on another title after Bayonetta 2

Honestly, it is going to be a pretty good E3 for them just with the expected list...these games mostly look amazing as far as we can tell thus far. We all hope for more of course, myself included

An entire hour dedicated to Project X.
It's revealed to be the first part in the Xenogears Saga.
Mechs are customizable and can be used almost anywhere in the world. They are also destructible.
There are loose ties to all the other Xeno games, including a KOS-MOS type character.

With stuff like this coming out of Nintendo as of late, I can only imagine the Digital Event being pretty damn fun to watch.

That's what I'm banking on myself.

I do believe however that there will be a small emphasis on Eshop exclusive titles, DLC content for MK8 and F2P games as well.

That's a fantastic list, dude. But you forgot Paper Mario ;)

Yeah I forgot about Sonic Boom. But I don't remember Nintendo showing indie titles on E3. It's all about AAA games.

Hey, both of them are pretty much expected games. The GAF I know would call this a disappointment if there are no megatons shown.

Golden Sun 4 is expected now? Especially after Dark Dawn?

They had a small Indie reel last year.

An HD Paper Mario that is like Thousand Year Door would be orgasmic. If they do do that I would like them to bring Luigi and Peach on as party members like Super Paper Mario though. Bowser doesn't matter because he'll be great as a party member or villain... unless they use him like Sticker Star...

I think a year has been "some time" since Iwata said the rest of Art Academy Sketchpad would come out, heck, they've even got that Pokemon Art Academy game for the 3DS so surely they've finished with the WiiU stuff.

Man, the humor, creativity, and fun in The Thousand-Year Door is still unmatched. I saw a bit of the creativity in Super Paper Mario more so than Sticker Star (I loved the rubies part), though. The Thousand-Door is one of those games I wish I could experience for the first time again.

You know, watching the Fills-a-mech video makes this gif more awesome;

Regarding 3DS, I'm really curious what they have in store for the system. 2013 was a fantastic year in terms of games, but they slowed down this year. The best game out seems to be Mario Golf WT, followed by Kirby and uh, Yoshi's New Island. On the third party side, it's a lot of smaller games. Well Europe got Layton vs. Ace Attorney, but that's about it I guess. As for localizations, what can we realisticly expect from Nintendo and maybe third parties? Except for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in early 2015, nothing has been announced for after Smash Bros. 3DS, which has a "summer" release.

Nintendo still has Fossil Fighters Infinite Gear and I guess (but won't happen) Daigasso! Band Brothers. P.

On the third party side... I guess there's Dragon Quest VII? (Ah who am I kidding) You North America folk will finally get a date for Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call has been confirmed for release... but that's about it.

The big holiday 3DS title(s) reveal will be interesting.

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story come really damn close for me though

Although yes, PM:TTYD is amazing

Yes it would be fantastic. I would love to see a HD PM with the gameplay of TTYD and the story of SPM

And music on par with Sticker Star.
Say what you will about that game, but the music was godly.

Well not much in my opinion. SPM's music was way better, way more catchy, more epic and emotional.

These songs are better than everything SS has in store imo!

SS was too jazzy and umemoryable.

The only thing that I ask is to keep Miyamoto away from the project, especially with regards to keeping the game's narrative intact. Super Paper Mario had it's own share of faults, but the story wasn't one of them, as I was busting a gut through a lot of the games weird (but hilarious) scenarios, such as Francis being socially awkward & he couldn't properly communicate to others face-to-face.

No way do we see a big Wii U Metroid game this year. Maybe next year, but I think console Metroid will be dead for a while longer. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 3DS Metroid, though.

It'd be great if we go an hour long X blowout Direct presented by Takahashi. Of course, he'd also need to do the trademark "Directly to You" pose.

Its funny as hell seeing all of these people knowing exactly what they're doing and havig fun making fun of Iwata.

Can't wait for Reggie to do it next

I will just be happy to see a new Zelda, some more Smash info (confirm Ness already!), and a price drop. I am excited for Zelda. Skyward left me very disappointed, and I've liked what I heard from Nintendo since on the direction they were supposedly going towards with the next iteration.

Don't think a new metroid game will be shown. It's sad, but yeah.
Retro already confirmed that they working on new title which isn't metroid.

It doesn't have to be Retro the ones who are making a new Metroid. Another Western studio could develop it. Like Nine Realms (Human Head).

I don't really know what to expect from Nintendo this year.

I think the unveiling of the 3DS successor would be the smartest move. But I doubt thats going to happen. Probably less games overall, because teams have to start making games for this if its going to come out sometime in 2015.

Pretty ignore the WiiU - zelda/smash/indie. I'd like a price drop/tablet drop of some kind.

3DS has had pretty more support so far this year. I'm expecting probably 2 - 3 Nintendo games announced for Aug - Feb. Hopefully I want one or two.

All I hope to see is:

X (and a more official name for it)
Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (especially this! I need more on this!)
Advance Wars 5 3DS
Zelda Wii U

It's time for a new Star Fox
I wonder if the whole anthropomorphic animals thing would be better received nowadays thanks to the popularity of Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. Of course, they would probably need to redesign Fox to make him look a bit more realistic like in the original Star Fox art.

Also, I think it's time to mix it up with some Rogue Squadron-style missions since that series isn't coming back.

Either show people that the gamepad has uses, or do a complete OS overhaul and release a gamepad-less SKU. I have yet to see one use for the gamepad outside of off tv play. Hoping they finally decide what direction they're trying to go in with the gamepad this E3.

To be honest, HD-ness doesn't do much for Paper Mario because it doesn't' rely on high-polycounts or stuff like that to look good. That's why I think it really might be a handheld-only franchise now.

Zelda U announced with a badass trailer and ready gameplay demo = wholly satisfied. Everything else is extra.

Pretty much the same thing for me as well.

Though I expect more, because it'll probably be a while before we see Zelda U on shelves.

Ever hear of NintendoLand???

I'm expecting something along the lines of Nintendoland 2. Nintendo do need a game that takes advantage of the gamepad and a second iteration gives them a chance to implement online play.

There's a big difference between SD textures blown up to HD and HD textures rendered in HD.

Golden Sun 4 is expected now? Especially after Dark Dawn?

I remember Camelot said that they are interested to continue the series after Dark Dawn. They're in a pretty good reltionship with Nintendo nowadays, and after Tennis and Golf, I won't be surprised if Golden Sun 4 is in E3. It doesn't have to be a direct sequel you know.

Does Nintendo have so many studios to make all these games at once without any outsourcing?

I can't help but imagine a console Golden Sun with graphics similar to X's, keeping the turned-based style intact.

That's just fantasies though. :(

Are we likely to get more than a Zelda U teaser? I know Nintendo probably wants it out as soon as they can but what about that Hyrule Warriors game? Or is that not being handled by the same people.

I just desperately want them to showcase new IPs and gameplay ideas. I'm so dreadfully tired of yet another genre with Mario in it or Samus in it or Donkey Kong in it or Link in it. I just want them to shoot for the stars, brand new bold IPs with big budgets and big marketing pushes. They've got nothing really to lose.

I will hold onto X and Bayonetta 2 like a mantra, but I am really looking to see if Nintendo has any intention of stopping their flush toward irrelevancy. They need to stop pandering to people who think five million games with Mario in it constitutes an acceptable lineup, because it's stifling their growth now.

While I agree with wanting new IP's, Nintendo will shy away from them as sales are usually not great for them, regardless of quality. "Wii" line of games excluded.

There's a big difference between SD textures rendered in HD and HD textures rendered in HD.

True, but PM's style really minimizes the important of the hardware in order to look good.

I wonder if they're locked into the Sprite/3D combo for both of their Mario RPG's now (Sticker Star and Dream Team were like this, although differently). A fully 3D game seems like it'd be too expensive without enough sales potential.
