I can't help but imagine a console Golden Sun with graphics similar to X's, keeping the turned-based style intact.

That's just fantasies though. :(
I wouldn't be able to handle it... oh man just thinking about it gives me the feels

I guess I'll throw my guess in.

-Trailer for X, release date of December or January.
-Dragon Quest localizations (both X and VII) DQX available after show, eShop only.
-Bayonetta 2 trailer and release date. (July--September)
-Hyrule Warriors (fall release)
-Yarn Yoshi (fall)
-Sonic Boom trailer (fall)
-Lite 3rd party sizzle reel (Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed PS3/360 port, whatever Straight Right is working on, Skylanders, etc)
-Indie sizzle reel
-Collaborative software (Fatal Frame, SMT, maybe a couple new things from Monster Games and Next Level)
-NFC game by Miyamoto
-Zelda tease with a roundtable later

Show over.

True, but PM's style really minimizes the important of the hardware in order to look good.

I wonder if they're locked into the Sprite/3D combo for both of their Mario RPG's now (Sticker Star and Dream Team were like this, although differently). A fully 3D game seems like it'd be too expensive without enough sales potential.

Yes, but a higher resolution with higher resolution textures and effects would make the game look, gorgeous.

They could make a 3D Mario RPG with the engine and most of the assets reused from another Mario game easily.

I think we'll see a full blown trailer for the next Zelda. It's been 2.5 years. Other than that, this is the first time I think I'm not that excited for Nintendo's presser. Smash is cool, but it's something that needs to be much closer to release. Retro won't have anything or EAD Tokyo. Of course, I'm still more excited for theirs than I am for the predictable showings we'll get from the other two.

Yeah I forgot about Sonic Boom. But I don't remember Nintendo showing indie titles on E3. It's all about AAA games.

Hey, both of them are pretty much expected games. The GAF I know would call this a disappointment if there are no megatons shown.

They did during the E3 Direct last year.

All I need... ALL I NEED....

Zelda U reveal - decently long trailer, looks mindblowing.

"X" Story trailer - final name revealed with release date late this year or early next.

Those are the only two things I require of this E3 to make me extremely happy. The rest is just extra.

I just want to see the games plain and simple. Also, if they can make their digital event as fun as their Mario Kart 8 Direct then I'm all up for it.

My most anticipated game is definitely Zelda U. I'm also interested in seeing if Majora's Mask 3DS will happen. If not at this E3 then I don't see it happening any other time. I'm close to completing Xenoblade so X is also on my radar. I'm hoping we get a more well cut trailer with gives a bit more of the story away.

Does Nintendo have so many studios to make all these games at once without any outsourcing?

Of course not, but they could outsource some(!) franchises they have to well thought that. Example Metroid by another studio than Retro will be most likely shit again. But a FZero to SEGA and a Starfox by Platinum would be amazing.

I no longer trust Sega to handle F Zero, unless it's done by Sumo. NdCube or Monster would get my vote. I really wish Nintendo would commit studios to one franchise that they could excel at. (As well as letting them make new, original stuff.)

Monster - 1080°, Waverace, Excite!!
Next Level - Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion, Strikers
Retro - Donkey Kong, Metroid, and a new IP...I want to see a sprawling, WRPG akin to Fallout or Skyrim without the jank.
NST - Pilotwings, anything else they want to make...weird B-Tier stuff like Project Hammer
Platinum - Starfox and whatever other weird shit they want to work on

These would be some of my ideas, for what I feel would be good fits.

Edit: I've said it before, but Nintendo should send Konami a gift basket and a Taco Bell gift card and buy Hudson's old IPs. They could do well with a stable of small IPs for their download service. Bomberman, Star Soldier, Alien Crush, Bonk, etc would be a good fit for the platform.

I'm going in with practically zero expectations. I expect to see Zelda U, and MAYBE see games like Yoshi Yarn and FE x SMT more in depth than previously. I'm not saying there's not gonna be any new games, but I just am not going to anticipate it so I'm not disappointed if there really are none.

I really do wanna see more of Yoshi Yarn though. I loved Kirby's Epic Yarn and I really want to play another game like it.

There are great Zelda fan arts from a user, please take a look:

I would love to see that art style in Zelda U, it resembles Zelda perfectly! Oh... of course in 3D!

This would look incredible, but you know they never would do it. The next Zelda is absolutely going to have an adult Link in it, probably with an art style very similar to TP to bank on that side of the fanbase which craves a more "mature" Zelda world.

Actually, that art style is a "mature" Zelda with more colors than TP :) It looks like OoT 3D, but much more details and its darker.

I'd love to play X this holiday season, but the poor thing don't even have an official name. :(

Watch it clash with Monster Hunter 4 in early 2015.

OK - here's my nut-ball predictions of the Digital Event video because why not:

ReggieMech with Itawa intro
Zelda U reveal (Coming Soon)
Yarn Yoshi (2015)
Strange New Nintendo game in Development (Coming Soon)

Third party stuff
Skylanders (2014)
COD Advanced Warfare (Nov 2014)
Project Cars showcased on the system with unique gamepad controls, etc
2 surprise third party exclusives:
Final Fantasy CC from Square Enix (2015)
Resident Evil 2 HD Remake from Capcom (Oct 2014)
Short reel 3rd party including games from Ubisoft... still supporting the system with a couple of ports (2014)

X name reveal (2015)
Bayonetta 2 gameplay (July 2014)
Starfox Adventures HD reveal and trailer (Sept 2014)
Smash Bros. new character and release date (Dec 2014)
Lego Mario reveal and demo - *uses NFC (Nov 2014)

I'm expecting a fairly long Zelda U segment starting with a trailer and then a demo similar to the Twilight Princess Wii walkthrough. It will look incredible, the nicest looking Nintendo game ever but within mins people will be posting Witcher 3 gifs and saying it doesn't look as good as $80 million PS3 exclusives lol.

On top of that a few more Smash character reveals, some more Bayonetta 2 footage and a full re reveal of X with release dates for all three. Throw in some Sonic Boom, Hyrule Warriors, Yoshi Yarn footage and the new NFC game reveal with a November release date and for people with realistic expectations it will be a very good show.

I do think people expecting a new 3D Mario, a new 3D Metroid from Retro and a new exciting Miyamoto franchise will be left disappointed though.

Why would X be in a third party reel?

You can have a franchise and do wildly different things with it.

What drivel. SM64, Galaxy, and 3D World are very much the same games. That's what Ben Kuchera would have me believe, anyway.

I'd love to play X this holiday season, but the poor thing don't even have an official name. :(

Three years+ of development time, and the game has no name. Sounds plausible.

Has Nintendo gone third party while I wasn't looking?

I don't expect much new for the WiiU.

I think we will see one oo two new announcements but mostly closer looks at stuff we already know about like Zelda U, Yarn Yoshi, Bayonetta 2, X, SMT X Fire Emblem, Hyrule Warriors, etc...

Nintendo is going to start winding down WiiU software and I doubt they have much in the pipeline that is only for WiiU.

I think we see new hardware by the end of 2015 from Nintendo and it will share big 1st party games with the WiiU for a year before Nintendo ends the WiiU support.

I hope they can get the new Zelda to look as good as the tech demo from 2011.

I hope they follow some of the design decisions from ALBW and don't continue the Skyward Sword route. No bullshit please.

Lots of people confuse dark and gritty with "mature." I'm personally open to virtually any direction Nintendo takes with ZeldaU. (So long as they don't pull something like 1st person.)

Anyway aside from that (and all the announced stuff) , I hope we'll see:

DQVII, new single player 3D Mario, revival of some older IPs, new IPs.

I ll be more than happy with this!!!

Also, why is everyone forgetting Devil's Third? :P

I hope. But I guess Metroid doesn't really sell systems? I mean its almost been 4 years since Other M.

If retro studios is working on metroid, they wouldnt have started until maybe a month before tropical freeze released when it went gold so at most, we would get a teaser trailer if nintendo is feeling generous at most.

Besides Zelda, I think Nintendo will focus on already shown and announced games. Don't think they've solved the lack of software problem just yet.

DKC would have been done in about October and they would have started on a second game a few months before (planning usually starts months before actual development). It of course wouldn't be ready to play but a trailer could be possible.
That said I wouldn't expext one yet.

My guess:

X name and release date
Zelda (if that qualifies as a guess since its pretty much confirmed)
Yarn Yoshi
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem
Bayonetta 2
Either Star fox or Metroid
One out of nowhere surprise.

And of course no new hardware whatsoever.

Or they had a second smaller team already working on it and after DK ended the rest of the team went onto it.

They should just show a Zelda trailer during the Direct, and later showcase the development process with a Zelda U Developer Direct, as well as have Nintendo Treehouse walk us through the demo. Top it off with interviews from Miyamoto, Aonuma and the game's director. That would be fully satisfying.
