France is Nintendo country. Even during Wii U it was fascinating to see how the French market outperformed the rest of Europe.

As a point of interest, I'd be fascinated to know the individual sales of Mario Kart 8, not included with the Switch every holiday in the year-end bundle at no extra cost. How many people bought MK8 on Switch for $50-$60? Millions, for sure, including me. But it would be interesting to know the real number, and not the super-inflated holiday bundle number.

Nintendo has revealed how much software they have bundled since FY 2019/20.

FY 2019/20: 8.08 million MK8D, 3.4million bundled software
FY 2020/21: 10.62 million MK8D, 3.8 million bundled software
FY 2021/22: 9.94 million MK8D, 1.5 million bundled software
FY 2022/23: 8.46 million MK8D, 1.25 million bundled software
FY 2023/24 Q1+Q2: 3.22 million MK8D, 0.21 million bundled software

The bundled software figure includes all bundled software combined and not just MK8 Deluxe. Nintendo has reduced the number of bundled software in the last 2 years yet MK8 Deluxe sales haven't taken much of a hit which suggest the bundles don't contribute that much to the total sales, my guess would be 1 million per year. Last FY even if every bundle was MK8D then it would only make up 1.25 million which is just a fraction of it's sales Last FY.

Yeah, so they've bundled MK8D like every single holiday season for 6 years, so it is definitely a signifcant number. Not to mention it's never increased the MSRP of the bundle over the base price of the Switch consoles without a pack-in. And since holiday year-end sales account for such a large portion of Nintendo's annual sales, MK8D-specific sales not including any hardware bundles would surely be quite significant.
