why do you keep saying that? those aren't launch titles.

The first-party offerings for the system's launch will include Super Mario 64 DS, a translation of the Nintendo 64 classic; a playable demo of the upcoming Metroid game, Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt; and PictoChat, which will be built into the DS and will let users exchange text messages or hand-drawn pictures and send them wirelessly to up to 15 other nearby Nintendo DS users. Looking further ahead, there will be a number of first-party DS-exclusive games hitting the system, including a multiplayer-enabled Mario Kart game, the full version of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, WarioWare Inc. DS, Animal Crossing DS, Yoshi's Touch & Go, Advance Wars DS, and a what is listed as a new Super Mario Bros. game. Nintendo-published games can be expected to retail for as low as $29.99.

um, not all of them are launch titles, only those specifically mentioned to be in that article are. titles like Ridge Racer and Viewtiful Joe are coming further down the track, from my interpretation of that article.

I won't be buying one until after animal crossing, advance wars, wario ware are all released here in the US. Idealy I would like to wait for a price drop. but that probably won't happen until PSP launch or later :(

hmm, boxes look alright.

Pokemon Dash? will that be a puzzle game, or a hit-the-buttons-as-fast-as-you-can style athletics game with Pokemon?

i expected a new Pokemon RPG :(

Nintendogs looks better than i thought it would. virtual pet eh. they don't last long though, do they?

So the Gamestop boxart was real. Those cases are mighty slick too, and Pokemon Dash looks nice (by the box). I'm curious though, is Nintendo actually going to be showing off these games this week?

Also, the news about Advance Wars DS is awesome. By the title, I wonder how it'll be though.

First Hunt implies that its the demo...

the Japanese DS unit box looks neat :p. and smaller than the US box, as usual. i like the miniature DVD-style software boxes, that's a great idea, those cards look like they can be lost easily if not stored somewhere safe.

What on earth is Nintendogs?

Pictochat being in that list isn't some sort of cue that it's an actual disk/cart/whatever and not integrated into system is it?

Boo to FF3j and not FF3 or 6 if you must. That would have sold the system in a second for me.

I actually hope Nintendogs is a sort of Tamagotchi pet with some animal crossing sensibilities built in (don't play for a few days and your dog is sad).

Nintendogs looks like a virtual pet game. like Tamagotchi or that Catz game that was on PC a long time ago. (don't quote me on that though, i don't think they've really said anything about it yet).

Pictochat is integrated into the DS unit.

FFIIIj would probably mean FFVI later down the road :)

Pictochat is going to be integrated into the system, yeah. That's why nobody's talking about it right now, it was revealed a little while ago.
