Nintendo shifted Switch 2 production from China to Vietnam/Cambodia to avoid tariffs but The U.S. will tariff products from Vietnam at a 46% rate

If you are a Mario Kart fan i fail to see why that trailer wouldn't float your boat. It looked fantastic.

Each to their own I guess.
Lol! Guy says a modest uograde.
We've gone from tracks to a fully open world Mario Kart! It couldn't be a bigger upgrade if it tried.

Its essentially Mario Kart Burnout Paradise.

I'm curious to see prices worldwide, but i doubt U.S Tarifs will impact prices worldwide.

The strategy makes no sense. Tarifs only exist as a protective measure for national industries and history show they don't work at all (source: i live in country that taxes all imports).
For me, it's a calculated risk and a bit of a gamble but to bring back jobs and increase production in USA. Better than doing nothing or just staying with the status quo which did not help USA either, as we saw from previous administration. And its also away for USA to combat other countries tariffs given to USA products. It is just being fair with reciprocal tariffs. There is nothing to lose for USA since let us admit USA may not be perfect but still has the strongest and powerful economy in the world. USA can easily adjust. I'm confident it will bear fruit and other companies can adjust and they will know what to do.

This is a strategy by Pres Trump to bring back jobs to USA and stop rampant outsourcing especially to China which causes allot of jobs loses in USA. Companies just needs to build factories in USA to get exemptions and tax cuts and incentives, and can still continue to invest in other Asian countries except China which will continue to be bombarded with tariff for there suppressive communist regime and unfair labor and trade practices.

No worries for us gamers, since I think Sony and Nintendo knows what to do since there are other Japanese companies already building big factories in USA, like for example Honda and Toyota
The whole point of trade is to invest resources in products where you have a comparative advantage. If you're going to produce products that would cost less to be made elsewhere, because you tax away the other countries' advantage, then essentially the policy is one of making your country poorer. So the question is whether the Switch 2 can be made as cheaply in the US, as it can in say, Vietnam.

So you didn't praise it as "one of the strongest launch lineups ever?"

When exactly is Metroid Prime 4 releasing, then?
I did.Launch line up being games that launch within a window of the consoles launch usually 3-6 months. Hence why I said launch window.

Otherwise i would have said launch day. No company in there right mind releases everything they have one day one.

They specifically said "launch window", not launch day.
If we're talking about a game's launch lineup, we're talking about the games it has at launch.

"Launch window" means something different to everyone. What are we talking about here? First month? First three months? First six months? First year?

Metroid Prime 4 doesn't even have a release date yet, AFAIK. Has one been mentioned yet? If not, how do you know it's "launch window?"

That is a good question. This is now the challenge for Pres Trump and USA government too offer a good tax cuts and incentives from companies investments to keep prices stable while still providing jobs to many Americans.

I complete every mario kart to absolute completion. I love it.

Mario Kart World looks incredible. I don't understand how people aren't hyped for it. Its going to be crazy with tons of dlc. Probably for the entire life of the switch 2

No thats what you seem to be talking about, I wasn't.
Fact remains: of their own titles, they've only got Mario Kart World at launch.
DK Bananza is post-launch, as apparently is Metroid Prime 4, and we're unsure exactly how long after on the latter.

Far from "one of the strongest launch lineups ever."

Yes the switch 2 price was announced earlier today, but these tariffs were announced less than 2 hours ago lol.
It's more the general trade war climate right now than the specific tariffs. I'm sure they knew it was a possibility whatever manufacturer they used would be affected by tariffs and built that into their pricing.

Yep, Nintendo are gonna build factories to manufacture Switches in the US. Definitely.

"Only Mario Kart World at launch"

"Only the successor to a game that sold 80 million copies and is universally recognized and beloved"

Think about what you're saying.

Yep, a trade war where the US and everyone else just keep out-tariffing each other (or themselves, rather) into another great recession is gonna be great!
