Apparently the new Pro Controller does NOT feature analoge triggers. Official page doesn't mention it.

Fuck Nintendo. I'm done. Excluding racing games from your system is too retarded for me.

What's the difference between switch 1 pro controller and switch 2 pro controller?

Did they upgrade the haptics like dual sense?

Nintendo won't be meeting demand this year. No way this is getting a price decrease by October or November.

This is the successor of one of the biggest consoles ever. Even if it doesn't do Switch 1 numbers overall this first year will be crazy.

Well, after my wife heard about the price I can tell you that the demand just got a little bit less. This was a long planned present for our son, but 500 Euro tech for a 7 year old isnt gonna happen.

time to go on GBAtemp to see if there is any word on team x-ecuter getting the band back together for this. Probably the only reason I pick one up on day one.

£395.99 / £429.99 in the UK. Nice that they didn't just pull a £ = $ move.

Probably not getting one at launch though...
That's 557.72 dollars, they basically did do that.
It should of been £379 for the bundle and even that's more then the US price with tax

PS5 costs 100 more than a PS4 and it's doing 7% better than the PS4 in the same timeframe in the USA.

Switch 2 will do just fine.

Don't kid yourselves, everyone here will buy the fucking thing lol.
First 40m units sold, so till 2027 switch2 will be selling gangbusters, after that once all nintendo diehards/zealots will already haveit- who knows how well it goes?
Im not saying it will flop, it likely will be very succesfull but so far it doesnt look too appealing for normal non hc nintendo gamer.

Nintendo was selling the Wii U at a loss, so they can always reduce the price if they get desperate.

PS5 was $499.99/£479.99
Xbox Series X was $499.99/£449.99

So the Switch 2 being $499.99/£429.99 for the Mario Kart Bundle is a better currency conversion than I was expecting. Better than the PS/XB price conversion.

I got around to watching the Direct, and the new system looks very good. The new "gimmick" actually looks useful and good compared to the Wii sequel. These prices are fucked, but Nintendo has "earned" it in a sense by outputting quality products and dominating the competition. Let's see how the market reacts.

$450 ain't that expensive gang…. I'm not sure why there are so many "no's" here.

"expensive" is a relative term. I'm personally not going to buy it because while I can afford it, I don't think it's a good value. If multiple friends purchase a S2 and want me to play with them, I might reconsider, but for now I don't need one. The price of admission is also going to be higher than that, unless you're only going to play your backwards compatible catalog.

I am such a big fanboy but this Direct was bad with a capital B.

- inflated prices. People's salaries haven't inflated. Wake up Nintendo.
- no analogue triggers so no serious racing games. Are they retarded?
- no option to remove borders on the side of NSO games. Who makes these decisions?
- A chat functionality that takes away almost 50% of your screen? Who makes these decisions?
- where are the damn first party games? Like WTF.
- this thing will be out of date much quicker than S1. 3rd party games are already struggling. This will be dead within 6 years.
- a fucking camera? What is this? 2003?
- No themes?
- 10fps chat functionality that looks horrible
- The new Zelda audio snippets should be ingame instead of on your damn phone.
- That interactive Switch 2 Tutorial app should be free like Wii Sports. WTF are they thinking.

It's like they don't have a clue why S1 was successful.

Was all dlss talk false? Any news on dlss support when docked?
It will support dlss3 for sure, just dont expect magic, it has tiny gpu, so tiny ai capabilities, tldr, it will be there but think of dlss feature upscaling from 540p to 1080p to keep stable 30fps, not from 1080p to 4k 60, unless game is old/not demanding( like for example switch1 games, those likely gonna run in 4k60 or close to that, since they are not demanding at all, from 2025 perspective).

This is getting off topic, but in my sons class nobody has a Playstation. A lot of them do own a Switch. The Switch is a classic "first" console, and I dont think Nintendo is doing themself any favors for this specific market space.

Value + context

It's what you are getting for $450 vs what tech inside plus what competition offers.
Are you suggesting that Nintendo, which has long delivered value in most cases on par and sometimes greater than their competitors will not be delivering value? Because that's absurd.

Yes, Nintendo is cheap as shit. Switch 2 shouldn't be a dime above $250

The camera part got me lol like a PS2 Eye Toy FFS

Every phone on the market has 3-4 damn cameras Nintendo. We good.

Nintendo really is the worst

The Japanese yen is getting slaughtered at the moment. I had a Japanese friend visit the UK recently and everything was expensive for them.

So Nintendo will want to keep the Switch 2 affordable and available for Japanese customers, and not have a load of us dirty foreigners with our strong currencies buying them all up.

It sucks for us, but that's globalism for you.

Erm the main system don't support it, so it would not make much sense.

price would have been perfect if it was oled, so a bit overpriced.

They can EASILY make it compatible. How STUPID is Nintendo to exclude ALL semi serious racing games besides Mario Kart?

That's stupid as fuck mate.

I mean honestly, that fits Nintendo, it's largely why they've struggled to follow a success with a success

Looks like it still has the same shitty dpad too. I could barely tell the difference with the current one.
