Nintendo Switch 2 Units Are Reportedly Being Sold on the Black Market for $40,000

As reported on the Nintendo Switch 2 subreddit, the Xiahongshu forums user who obtained last year a CAD model of the new Nintendo system and provided the first accurate look at its design before the official reveal last month shared a screenshot featuring a conversation with a black market seller saying that the system, complete with dock and Joy-Con controllers, costs 290,000 RMB, around $39,780. While no regular user would spend so much money to get the console, the Xiahongshu forums user is selling the opportunity to manufacturers to test accessories on a real unit, so they have something going on to earn back the money spent.

Sure... and no photo published whatsoever

This happens for basically every high profile electronic device. There are absolutely Switch 2's on the black market.

There's already been accessory companies saying they've bought a Switch 2 off the black market.

I don't follow. If there are really Switch's on the black market what's the issue posting some photo? No ninja/lawyers/killers/samurai/pirates will be after who does, unless is stupid enough to give away details on his/her persona with those images. I find it hard to believe that people wouldn't boast a little after spending an unknown amount of cash on something months away from commercial availability.

Regarding these accessory companies... it's too hard ask nintendo direclty for length, measurements, etc? it's their job and it's a legit request if they are going to manufacture something. Sure, they would have to sign a NDA or promise their firstborn to Miyamoto, but it's always better than to pay absurd amounts of money.

There are defintely electornic devices on black market before the intended launch, sure, but for this kind of objects no-one post anything? In this day and age? Months in advance? C'mon.

BC and start of reverse engineering for the emulator(s).
Maybe this time they won't paywall their early builds and won't allow the discussion and the sharing of game ROMs on their Discord. Sometimes even ROMs of games that hadn't been even released.

Just bought one. Unfortunately I ended up on the streets due to spending my entire savings nest. But at least I can play Breath of the Wild in 60 fps while I'm begging people for change...

If that’s true I guess leaks of the OS/system features etc. will be ramping up in the next few weeks.
