One thing I think will be really telling is what the 3rd party sizzle reel will look like, if they even have one.

If this thing can't get ports of Fifa and Madden, for example, that would bode very poorly. And if it is getting such ports you imagine they'd get a minor mention tonight.

I actually suspect that there will be almost no western 3rd party support, not at launch anyway. I think Nintendo's plan has been to try and leave such games for PS4/XB1 and use japanese games and indies as the bulk of their 3rd party games. It might not be such a bad idea, but not getting Fifa would hurt the Switch in a major way in Europe. A full fat console Fifa you can take on the go would be very appealing.

Now imagine what he can do with two joy-cons

I'm actually most curious right now to see a decent look at the system's OS and internal features. I don't expect a detailed walk-through, but I'm really curious to see how they lay it all out and what kind of extra features along the likes of streetpass and miiverse make it in.

I'm trying to do something else than refresh every 3 sec the thread, like finish ReCore or play a bit of Pokémon Moon, but hype is too much, I can only refresh like crazy.

Nintendo has two months to hype this thing and they are not going to hold back. No third party announcements? No Smash footage? That feels so tame considering the timeline we're talking about here. Nintendo is going all out tonight. BELIEVE.

Just be careful to not set yourself up for dissapointment.

I'm most interested in the handheld component of this console. I'm not very interested in what they announce in terms of their usual IPs.

Didn't IGN say they were going to have a show one hour before the Switch presentation? That will at least make the wait feel shorter.

I hope the OS and UI are streamlined, easy to use, has a unified aesthetic, is fast and snappy, have sensible shortcuts and have a wide range of options.

I'm also curious to see if there will be games that specifically require more than two joy-cons. My question is, assuming that the system comes bundled with the two joy-cons and a joy-con grip, if I buy a pro controller is that all I'll need to be able to do two-player in every game? Or will I also need a second set of joy-cons and a second grip in addition to that pro controller?

No smash footage today??

I'm in the same boat! I know my dedicated time for gaming won't change dramatically once the Switch comes out, but I can still play around with the OS. I currently find a strange sense of joy in powering up my Xbox One just to browse through the store and such.

What if there is no smash reveal?

Yeah I'm starting to think we're not going to have gigaton after gigaton at tonight's event since they have to save stuff for this years E3 so maybe tonight Nintendo will just focus on stuff releasing from march till probably, september, with a few teases for what they will release on the holidays, but only that, a tease.

Nintendo's whole strategy with Switch so far has been a drip feed. I'm expecting precisely one gigaton.

Also, do you remember those stories about Nintendo having a new ip that's completely bonkers.

I know a lot of people are assuming it's the Rabbids crossover, but it could be the Snipperclips or Arms game.

I should probably stop assuming this leaked list is true.

Any worthwhile leaks going around?

The 4chan leak looks like it has a list of playable games for Europe, which are possibly the launch games. A few lines of evidence seem to suggest it's real.

Edit: not necessarily ALL playable games, correction.

I totally agree. If people think they can get a full fat Fifa, albeit with paired back graphics (and Frostbite is pretty flexible in this way) with Ultimate Team etc, which can be played on the go and at home? That would be absolutely HUGE. Especially in the UK where Fifa is extremely heavily played.

For many people, the thought of being able to play Fifa at home in the evening then just stick it in your bag and carry on playing on the way to work would be a system seller.
