I just realized that today's event is a stream of the Japanese event with english live voice overs. This means that we aren't going to get US price, US specific announcements (Mother 3), etc unless they take time in the Japanese only event to mention it. Meaning the real press event is the Friday deal

Here's the thing, there's a major gaming event, people want to know things, fake leaks are there to try and satiate that. Don't believe anything that doesn't come from a legitimate journalist.

And? Of course there will always be fake leaks especially on an huge open anonymous forum like 4chan but that's also the reason why so many real leaks pop up there as well. It's a double-edged sword.
That's true for any forum no matter how "strict" the moderation tries to be about verifying people and that includes GAF as well. And we talk about these leaks all the time no matter if we know they are real or not so I don't really see it being "no point".
It does make sense in its own way.
- Capcom wants to release a Street Fighter on this thing, it makes a lot of sense since two controllers are included
- They can't release SF5, that's Sony exclusive on consoles
- They can't release SF4, they want you to forget that game and focus on 5
- SF2 is the next best thing and also embodies this retro renaissance we're seeing right now and especially after the NES mini
It's so out there I want it to be real. But playing SF2 with an analog stick. 😷

There's a scale for how trustworthy "leaks" can be. GAF is certainly not 100% dead-on, but to say GAF's curated leaking is in the same universe of reliability as 4chan's completely free for all shitposting is insane.

I wonder if the rumored switch port of xenoblade X gets rid of the pop in enemies. my biggest problem with the game.

If Mario Kart has 16 new tracks, new characters & a proper battle mode, I think it would be quite harsh for people to call it a 'port'.
The Hori arcade Switch is for Tekken 7, it's way way more likely than the obviously fake SF2 thing.

Tekken 7 seems more likely at launch.
I mean the Sony exclusivity could be for one full year but I don't see it. I don't mind being wrong though.

Nintendo isn't daft enough to officially unveil details only regarding Japan with their market being far larger in the West.
I don't think SFV will be on any other console, ever.

Pretty much every game from Mario Kart DS onwards has been "fundamentally the same game". Bringing back two item slots and adding new tracks is about the same kind of changes you'd expect from a full on sequel at this point.

Yeah, but it looks like including the playable sessions the event is pretty lengthy if the Switch presentation is said to be just an hour long. Maybe there's some extensive game coverage right after?
