I'm becoming endlessly paranoid about my Pro Controller preorder right now.
Preordered online at GameStop's website for in-store pickup but I'm worried they're not gonna honor it or run out because the GameStop is in a mall right next to a college campus (They're really small but it's super convenient because it's down the street from me. They do get an insane amount of foot traffic during releases because it's near a college) and they've had some issues with me not getting things right away before, such as with the FFX HD Limited Edition for PS3 and the GameCube Adapter for Wii U.
I also ordered it in a rush with a guest account, and it shows up still on the website but I'm still worried because the last time I preordered an accessory (GameCube adapter) there was a problem and it took some time to be able to pick it up because they're idiots and undershipped. I should be okay to pick it up on Friday morning despite that, right? The GC adapter debacle was a common thing I remember, so I'm in the clear?

I have mine preordered at amazon, but I traded my wii u and new 3ds xl plus the 2 games I owned for both and ended up with like 350 bucks in trade ins at gamestop, so now I have a dilemma of deciding to camp out and get one for 0 dollars at midnight instead and sending the one back to the zon

Looks like you are right. When you get charged probably varies by store and when they get your specific products sorted.
GameStop.com has charged my card for Switch + Zelda

Question to those who are familiar with Amazon. If you change your address they wont cancel the order right? Only if you change the billing information?

I call to change shipping, if need be. I think if you're a day or two prior to shipping, they'll let you change it. Seriously, give them a call. Most other places won't change, from what I've found....
I changed the shipping address on my to my office and it's all good.
I'd also love to know this and also when we can expect Amazon to have them after launch.

Must be a West Coast SoCal thing..I didnt think our orders would prepare for shipping til at least Tuesday at the earliest but when I started seeing posts from people who said their orders are preparing for shipping(And some already shipped) thats when I started checking

For the people in this situation, did you order online but then select in store pickup?
Thought i was safe but now im on the phone with amazon after applying credit to zelda. It changed my order status from arriving friday to they need time to estimate it.
Warning to anyone applying amazon credit, you may get your release day order fucked. Hopefully they can fix it via phone.

I don't think it gets charged until the store picks it in their inventory system and it gets flagged as ready for pickup. Typically this doesn't happen for preorders until the day before release. At least that's how it was when I worked there.

I think this is true. I just checked an old statement and I was charged for my PS4 Pro on 11/9 (it released 11/10).
So yeah, in-store pick-up folks, no need to panic yet. It's too soon to panic in general, I mean yeesh, we're still five days out.

Yeah my Best Buy instore pickup has failed authorization, really hope everything works out with it.
Same exact thing happened to me just now, changed my credit card to a different one and now it says the same need time to estimate BS.
It should be available any time but with Nintendo you never know anymore.

If you update your payment info within 24 hours, I suspect it should be fine in the end.
How is anyone in here going to know that?

For the record, I payed for my BB in-store pickup with PayPal and it was an instant charge. Seemed like less hassle at the time.

EDIT: Ha. As soon as I posted and checked my CC statement again, it looks like they HAVE charged it. It's still under pending charges for me, which I why I missed it.

From Googling online (since I've seen something similar), in kind of sounds like that happens when the initial hold they put on the funds expires but it's too early for them to have already fully charged you for the order. If true (this is based on random forums, so I have no idea how legit this info is), it's a pretty major design flaw in their system, but probably nothing to worry about.
Now if your bank actually declines the charge, that's another story. I suspect they'd probably tell you if that happened, though.
I'm really sorry and I hope my advice doesn't fuck your pre-order over.

I'd checked here on your item is currently not yet available on our Amazon inventory in our website. Hence I'd checked further that the initial release date of the item will be on March 3, 2017.

Too bad Zelda won't get here til the 3rd, still says to expect Switch on the 2nd.
My stuff says preparing and March 3rd(Best Buy shipping). Not worried and considering the nightmare Amazon people are going through, I'll just be happy to get it.
I ran into the same issue with Zelda (paid it off in full with credit and screwed up the pre-order), ended up just canceling my Amazon order and went with Best Buy in-store pickup.
My credit was only $47, so when I applied it to my Switch pre-order, it didn't change the primary payment (my card).
