Is it possible to use WiiU Pro controller on Wii?

A friend of mine asked me this, and I didn't know what to answer.

If you wanna play games from the card, I'd say at least a 32GB card. 64 should be good for a whole lot of GC games. GC games tend to be around 1.2GB a piece only.

128 or an external HDD would be more suitable if you wanna do both GC and Wii games.

Awesome, thanks for the responses guys. What's usually a good memory size to go with? In terms of gamecube games?

And has anyone figured out to use the adapter on brawl or project m?

well, you technically only need a <2gb SD card for the initial hack, but I fully recommend using a larger SD card purely for gamecube games rather than USB

I would say 32gb gives you enough room for most collections, 64gb is an option too if you format it to FAT32. If you are going all out with uncompressed games (1.4gb each), get a 64gb. they're cheap now - £19.99 on amazon here in the UK! - - - And only £3 more for the faster version.

and nope, no Wii titles work with the gamecube controller yet, support only exists as an api for homebrew apps.

64GB SD card is plenty for GC games. i ripped my entire collection of 28+ games (even games i probably won't play this decade) and still had quite a bit of extra space to spare.

also, it doesn't interfere with SSB4 snapshots. i have a couple and my homebrew stuff is intact. i even have some 3DS games in there since i used this card to get more OoT 3D saves by downloading it again on a different card than my regular one.

Anyone else getting hard locks using nintendont with a USB hdd? I'm using a y-cable so don't imagine that's my issue here.. Very odd. I'm just getting random freezes here and there, once after 10 mins or so of rogue leader, once when going into skies of arcadia, etc. It's not like at a set point where this happens. I'm just a little concerned I'm doing something wrong, I'm not using any compression, I try to keep the settings as close to default as I can. Does forcing widescreen or progressive scan cause issues? To say I'm alarmed by having to keep unplugging the power cord of my Wii U to reset after a hard lock is an understatement.

Just one other thing I've thought of, I actually tried putting my data on an sd card rather than USB and it STILL did a hard lock, so I do wonder if it's my settings rather than a USB issue..

Everytime I see this thread I can't wait to buy my Wii U. Random question though, a micro SD card will work for installing the homebrew channel and what not right. Of course I mean one with a SD card adapter. Its the only card I got lying around less than 2gb so wanted to ask if it does or not. Making a quick list of all the startup things I want to get with the new console purchase.

Can't wait though, the prospect of being able to replay Baiten Kaitos off the actual gamecube is great. For w/e reason I could never get it to display in a satisfactory way on my tv, for reference my dreamcast looks better/clearer than my gamecube. Been wanting to replace it for years.

So I'm trying to use gcit to trim my rips.

Eternal Darkness and Crystal Chronicle both don't get any smaller. Is this because they fill the disc totally, or I just did something wrong?

I tried both Extract -> DiscEX and also Save ISO -> Trimmed.

Edit: Okay, seems to be the case. Animal Crossing came out at 26mb.

So I've only ripped 8 of my games so far, but I'm already at 10gb. Definitely going to need to pick up a 64gb card, then.

Edit2: Phantasy Star Online resets the Wii U whenever it loads. Can create a character, get the starfield loading screen, then boom, reset. Back to the Wii U menu. :(

You know what, I just booted it up, and I misremembered. There's black bars on all sides, thinner ones on top and bottom. So it's probably actual 16:9, just not filling the image output. Similar to most Wii-mode software.

64gb card and a GameCube Controller adapter on the way. Oh yeah!

Given my collection has only ripped to about 12gb so far and I only have one or two games left, this should be more than enough to nab a few gems I missed from eBay and put them on there too.

Currently thinking Odama, Cubivore, and Baiten Kaitos, then who knows what else.

So this note about cheats is on the GBA Temp page for Nintendont.

Note: Nintendont is working in Wii mode, with shifted and custom memory addresses.
Most (if not all?) existing cheat codes you will find online have been created for GameCube mode (gamecube console, Dolphin emulator, Wii in gamecube mode using MIOS/DM/DML).
Therefore the addresses are not the same anymore and a lot of cheatcodes will NOT work.

Is there a repository of cheats that are confirmed working on Wii U?

Is your TV's aspect ratio set to "Screenfit" or something like that? On mine, I usually have it set to that but in Wii mode on Wii U I set it to 16:9 and it gets rid of the black bars, it needs some overscan.

Man, I swear using gcit makes like half my rips not work on Nintendont.

Both Phantasy Star Online I&II and III, Wave Race, Mega Man Anniversary, Mario Kart..

But the weird thing is, these are green in the trimmed box on the compat list, so other people got them working.

Try GCMUtility 0.5. After you've shrunk a game, just rename it from .gcm to .iso.

Am I missing something really obvious? I don't want games to use global settings, I want a per-game setting. Eternal Darkness needsWii U Widescreen On, for example, where many others don't.

So can this play nes and snes emulators? I remember reading the wii one had that

you can play nes and snes emulators but that has nothing to do with nintendont

On that note, is there NES/SNES/Genesis/GB/etc emulators that can take advantage of the Wii U Pro controller?
