Just downloaded Miitomo app on my Android phone.

I´m here in Germany. App is already in german language and well translated.

Now gonna check some of the ingame stuff

Without friends the app isn't very good at all. Barely anything you can do. You can answer questions (which nobody will see) and slowly save up coins for outfits (which nobody will see unless you post to Twitter)

Tomo actually means friend, so I reckon yes it's very dry without friends.

I have a windows phone, so unfortunately won't get to experience this at least once.

Still makes sense to ramp it up in the way they're doing it with My Nintendo, Nintendo Account, etc all being tied in.

Their next app should launch globally though.

It does, but it's not optimized for iPad. The screen is stretched as it runs on the iPhone resolution. I tested it on iPad Mini and it's not that bad, might be a clunky on the normal iPad though.

You know how people are paranoid MS will take the open platform that is Windows and lock it down to only apps that get their blessing in the Windows App Store? That's pretty much what Google did to Android. Especially in countries where phones/tablets are sold without the Google Play Store, it's the only way to get apps.

The game is very polish. My 7 years old daughter is already in love with the app. BTW still amazes me how good the mii creator is... is better than the 90% of more modern character creators.

Nintendo sent a notice to explain that it might crash if you have too many follows/followers, or a GIF as avatar.

There's Amazon and that's about it if you want something safe. Note that it's not like the alternate stores get most apps submitted anyway due to the monopoly Google has on Android phones, it's seen as unnecessary unless you're targeting China or something. I certainly don't expect something like Miitomo to appear outside it so those people will be downloading, unsafe as it may be.
