The Nintendo new product exhibition briefing for circulation is held and January seems to be held by the various place district in the Mainland in Fukuoka on the 18th on the 13th and the 14th. It is expected that it will explain the title put on the market in February and March. The sales battle what game appears, and is the enjoyment in spring.

Anyone know what this is about?

Seems to be an exhibition of nintendo's new products to me... but I'm no expert ;)

Just sounds like showing off games for the year to me. I wouldn't take "new product" to mean anything more than games, it's just the translation.

Nintendo always shows off its wares in January. And they will likely announce some new titles as well.

I'd like to see some new DS software announcements.

Also maybe we'll see more of Kirby DS, Animal Crossing DS, Mario Kart DS, and Square-Enix's DS stuff.

Here are some Pikmin 2 Pens(?) from Mitsubishi's pencil company, UNI.

Right, new games. Sometimes a lot is lost in these quick translations. There's no time spent on correcting for english grammar.
What is there to lose? 2005 games, some maybe new, to be announced on the 18th. Something to keep an eye out for. :)

Well i think you're going to have to look to third parties, Nintendo already have an unbielable amount of DS software announced from themselves, i wouldn't expect anything new until E3. And maybe not even then.

Actually I suppose Zelda hasn't officially been announced, though we all know about it anyway. Maybe not just third parties now I think about it, second parites like Brownie Brown might have something to show. I don't expect anything we don't know about first party though (on the DS front).

If only my dad still worked for Mitsubishi. Damn, I would have him get me as many sets as possible. Damn you Mitsubishi and your total disregard for your engineers.

maybe an add-on for the Ds

Somehow I keep on thinking that something can be attached to the top screen.

The top two are convex, and I believe they are just to raise the top half of the system up a tiny bit more when it is closed, so as not to disturb the buttons. I think it would be pretty tough to secure anything to the top screen.

They are also on the back of the system. However, if you look at the one to the right of the GBA port it actually goes into the system. My friend believes this may be an antenna for wireless features.

so much pie

do you or your friend have a DS and know what a headset icon is supposed to represent?

Yeah, it's most likely the slightly secret mic/headset for the NDS that Nintendo mentioned months ago. What's more likely the more interesting matter is what software Nintendo has planned to support said headset.

I understand the purpose of the two top ones. But what about the two bottom ones that goes inward in the system? I can't think of any reason why they would be on there. It does seem like they can pop out and be replaced by something else.

seriously, what are you going on about? youre not really making any sense. what can be popped out? just because theres an indentation does not mean there is something that should be added on to it. hell, gamecube has a whole serial port, something MEANT to be connected to, thats not used at all.
And id say this would most likely be just thier typical seasonal announcement for products upcoming in japan. they always do it, people always hype it, and usually a game or two new is shown, and thats about it.

Those bumps are there so the top screen doesn't fall apart. They are the mechanism by which the front and back are held together. Notice there are no screws on the top flap.

Anyway, reading the Yuiter news, I was under the impression that 15 games are being released by Nintendo for the GC, DS and GBA in February-March and that this meeting is to explain what those titles are to retailers and press. The latest issue of Famitsu details Nintendo's Q1 releases as:

GC
Feb 24: Starfox Assault
Mar 17: Donkey Konga 3

GBA
Feb: Play-yan Media player
Mar 10: 1000 year Family

DS
Jan 27: Catch! Touch! Yoshi
Feb 24: Another Code
Mar 24: Touch! Kirby's Magic Brush
Mar 31: Yakuman DS

...but that's only 8, so either there is unannounced stuff, 3rd party stuff, or some Q1 dates on stuff without dates currently.

I doubt there will be any new hardware announced and if there is, it wont be anything like Revolution, although that would be a nice surprise, unless Revolution will have two screens or something.

I think we will know more about Starfox and they might also reveal Zelda GC's title. Im also guessing they will reveal a load of software, but remember, 2 games for Nintendo is a lot so dont expect too much:P

What are you talking about? On the black bottom of the system, to the right of where the GBA cartridge goes.
