She looked ugly in the marriage.
There, I said it.

I agree with everyone saying the Winterfell burning was very confusing. I knew they basically turned over Theon in exchange for the chance to flee, so I couldn't understand why Winterfell got destroyed.

I was wondering where the white walkers fit into all this. They showed up for the first time in EP1 and was never seen again. Hopefully they will be relevant to the story soon. That thing on the undead horse was awesome and creepy.

That was them on the horses.

Did you not see how this episode ended? Because that was them.

Yea, and I thought they would be very important in S1 and S2 when they were the first thing in the show premiere. Just when I forgot about them they show up at the end of the episode. Winter is coming very soon I hope =)

that final scene was both awesome and also uhh wat? Why wouldn't they make Sam a zombie dude also. Sure, he's fat but there are hundreds if not thousands marching bye; I'm sure he could do something as an undead fat dude.

Doreah no...gonna miss seeing her sexy ass.

Well, she got what was coming to her. Figures she was in on betraying Dany since she was nowhere to be seen when that massacre happened. The Dany plotline for this season ended perfectly imo. She gets her dragons back, and she'll have enough goods to be able to buy a ship.

I thought it looked so cool how she cradles two of the dragons as the third sits on her shoulder. And they're starting to breathe fire even more strongly now. I can just imagine the flames they'll emit when they're fully grown. :0

Poor Tyrion, he was instrumental in the defense of King's Landing and what does he get: he's "relieved" of being the King's Hand and loses access to Bronn and any other muscle he had. His scene with Shae was sweet though.

I was also a bit confused with the burning of Winterfell. They had me going with Theon's speech and suddenly "boom", knocked on the head. lol Maybe the Islanders burned Winterfell down and left it all on Theon? Surely they handed Theon over to Robb's men in exchange for freedom? Poor Maester Lewynn. :/

Jon's story also took an interesting turn. And I said holy hell at the army of White Walkers heading towards the wall! The leader on his dead horse looked great.

Christ, it's going to be a loonngg wait till next season...

I don't think he lost access to Bronn, unless I missed something. It's just that Bronn is a regular salesword now, he no longer has command of the city watch.

Maybe you're right. I have to watch the show again, there's so much to take in.

Bronn being "normal" again means they can do whatever they want with him. At best, he'll be a bodyguard again, but it's odd that he hasn't come to see him yet.

Tyrion was King's Hand in Tywin's absence; ergo Tyrion is back to being disrespected by his family
Ohh right, I remember now. It was the later half of last season when Tywin asked Tyrion to go to King's Landing in his absence. It's been a while since I watched season one. Regardless, poor Tyrion.

I don't quite understand how Tywin is any closer to actually being the Hand given the situation with Robb.

However, I suppose it was an emergency situation that prompted him to have Tyrion do it.

Dat ending. The episode set up a lot for season 3. I now need to forget about this show for the next however long months until it comes back.

Khalessi is cold-blooded.

Finally got to see the white walkers again. Seeing that thing in episode one was one of the reasons I kept watching the show, not realizing it would take two full seasons to actually get a good look at them.

So question:

Why was the vault for Xaros empty? I thought he was the richest man in Qarth? *raises finger*

He's a liar. The whole city itself is a bunch of lies. Just power-trippers proclaiming they have the greatest city on Earth.

Fantastic episode and a great way to close the season. I am reading the books now (halfway through Book 2), but I will hold off reading the third book before Season 3 debuts. The series is too good to spoil myself.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Man, last week I thought Stannis Baratheon was captured during the battle... this week was like wtf.

The entire scene I'm wondering about a possible doppelgänger... I guess he wasn't captured? They handled that quite poorly.

Hmm... it seems like they're trying to imply she kills him, or cuts out his tongue, or something. Bet you she just gags him.

I stand corrected, and it was awesome.

This episode was kind of a letdown, but I guess it couldn't be otherwise after the sheer awesomeness of Blackwater. Disappointed in what happened to Tyrion even though I figured that'd happen. Glad at least Varys gives him cred. Dany was pretty badass. Nice to see Khal Drogo again, if briefly.

Add me to the chorus that doesn't get what happened with Winterfell. Seemed like a situation where Bran and co should've been safe. WTF.

Plus, oh shit, white walkers!

He wasn't captured, his men dragged him away from the battle

If his story about challenging people to open the vault is true, he conned a lot of people out of their money.

Yea, I don't understand why Bran couldn't stay at Winterfell, especially with 500 Stark men outside.

The good this season:

Tyrion, almost all the stories revolving around King's Landing felt like they got their due. Most of if felt cinematic, most fleshed out, most real. Good stuff there. Arya's arc is magnificent, and the characters around here are so great. Looking forward to more.

The eh this season:

Khaleesi and Jon Snow stories felt like they could've taken half a season on a normal show. The introduction of the white walkers was awesome and a good tease, even though it s kind of ridiculous that s1 ended with them looking beyond the wall to find out was going on, and then having the season end once we even begin to have an idea. Khaleesi had many dope heartfelt moments, but the vanquishing of that dude came kind of quick. Dude severely underestimated the situation, to the point of being dumb as hell. Could full grown dragons even fit in that room? I dunno, stupid question, but its not like the show was concerned enough to ask even that. It was a good turn, but executed eh-ly. Glad we're moving on here.

Theon stuff was great this episode and felt like it had a lot dedicated to it this season, but could've used a little more. 10 episodes wasn't enough, I guess. And Bronn with the dreams, jeez. I feel bad for book readers who had to keep waiting for that stuff to amount to very much.

And the Jaimie Lannister stuff....just not gonna have a resolution at all this season, eh? Alright then. And Robb getting married felt like it happened more because they needed something to end his story for the season on, as opposed to nothing. Fairly rushed, although the girl is nice.

Show has many great moments, but coming together with the pacing with all the parts fitting together and ramping up equally is still an issue. The last two eps were far less predictable than a lot of the season that came before it, hopefully the momentum keeps rolling into s3 now. The show is still hovering around a low 8/10 for me on the whole, some plots more exceptional than others. I hope not too many characters are introduced next season and we can really get some of the other plots going.

Fantastic.

I've got a feeling that Khalessi has the trump card now. She has three dragons at her side. They will only continue to get stronger and bigger. Only Stannis and Melisandre will be there to challenge her to the thrown.

And OMFG, WHITE WALKER'S finally revealed in their true glory.

I actually think that Khaleesi will team up with Melisandre and Stannis due to the whole fire and dragons thing. It just makes sense!

HOLY SHIT! What an ep! My brain is fried..I was really expecting more for Tyrion and instead he gets shafted... Fuck the Lannisters!

I'm glad this ep showed us what Khaleesi can do! She was just starting to become an annoying chick who thinks she has power. So good to see her ruthlessly fuck shit up! Was brilliant and not what I was expecting at all.

So many unanswered questions though :( WTF happened at Winterfell? Was Littlefinger being sincere with Sansa about sending her home?

I really didn't like Robb getting married like that. What was the hurry?

They slept together. Would be in bad taste if others found out Robb married a "broken" woman. Also, if she did fall pregnant people would be able to piece things together if they married later.

Time to put myself in a coma for a few months...

fuck it I'm reading the books

Doesn't make sense. Stannis wants the throne, Khaleesi wants the throne. Neither of them will give it up. I'm starting to believe Khaleesi will be the only victor and those who bend their knee will be spared.

p.s.

Fuck the Lannisters.
Fuck the King
Fuck the (new) Kings Hand.

I don't get the Winterfell burning. Was it really Theon's men or the bastard son or whoever that Robb sent?

Why am I under the impression that it's the latter lol.

Holy fuck, those White Walkers looked amazing. Straight out of a big budget feature film.

And the assassin face changing? WHAT THE HELL

I really wish she had gone with him, her fucking a badass assassin would have been great.

Whose to say those men serve the Starks? They might even be the ones who torched Winterfell and slew its inhabitants; in which case, Maester Luwin's advice would make more sense.

Yeah I'm confused about that as well. Maybe it was actually Yara coming to take Theon home?

Poor Theon :( Why didn't he just heed the advice and join the wall? I would've loved to see that actually.

lol it would fucking sucked for him. Escapes certain death in order to confront certain death again xD

Though I've read and enjoyed this thread, but never posted until now, this'll have to be my first and last post. I can't resist the books for another year! I almost succumbed after last season but I'm not strong enough to resist yet again. My daughter is plowing through the books now and I just *know* I'm going to get spoiled at some point, so I might as well enjoy the books.

At least on the wall he has a chance :p

Don't know how those Whitewalkers plan on getting across the wall. I'm guessing they're freakishly supernatural and will just climb?

Westeros is fucked.

Based on his comment about needing sons and daughters, and his undying and unrequited love for Catelyn, I think Littlefinger will attempt to persuade Sansa to marry him.

Jeeze, that makes perfect sense with all his "you remind me of your mother" crap. So gross thinking about that :x

Hopefully the Hound hasn't left yet and can still escort Sansa home (but to what home :S)

The fact that she has the coin... *bounces excitedly*

I'm kinda sad to see that particular face go away though... I enjoyed looking at him.

^ Fair enough.

I'd expect that actor to be back. Changing his face is the only explainable way for him to be running around Harrenhal killing all those people and being so calm about it.

Anyone cry at the Dany & Drogo scene?

No? Just me?

;~;

Agree that the first half was weak but the end definitely delivered. I really hope Jon does something in S3, I wanted so bad for him to be a fav of mine but he hasn't shined at all yet. >_<

But really? "And if this is a dream... I will kill the man that tries to wake me." #dead & #tearrsssss. I'm a sucker for this stuff :(
