NO Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on Switch 2 at launch!

Wasn't there some rumor leading up to the S2 reveal that Nintendo was pretty stingy who got devkits?

Something like 3rd parties would not even get a DK until like June of this year?

Cdpr made a cp2077 port in a few weeks.

Stuff like this should be fined with like 20% of yearly revenue.

Yeah I have no idea when Acti received their DK and with the wording no BO7 on Switch 2 at launch wonder how far behind it will be

Even if its a pure shit port I would think Acti would love that Switch 2 revenue

They didn't port cp2077 in a few weeks; the build they showed off back in June was a few weeks old which is where all that confusion came from.

I think I read that someone from CDPR had said they were working on the NS2 port since last year.

I don't know. I was not expecting COD this year honestly. Or not the same COD as ps5/Xbox. That seemed unlikely. Maybe MS didn't get the dev kits as quickly as we all assumed.

We will see if NS2 gets an older port that could have been worked on for a bit. Like Modern Warfare or some other version.

I also wonder if MS/Nintendo struck a deal for certain "OTHER Games" in an annual substitute for COD. For example…if the big November game is a scaled down version of Halo MCC. Personally, i consider that a substitute for COD.

There is such an easy fix to this, it baffles me. Nintendo, who needs very minimal third-party games to begin with, doesn't do it.

When it comes to these big games(COD/GTA/BF)if they don't hit day and date, the publisher, loses their license, to publish on Nintendo platforms, or some other kind of punitive measure.

No COD? No minecraft.

NO BF6? No Sims.

The platform is absolutely massive, and regardless of what people here think, all these companies sell a ton of software on Nintendo platforms.

When you got leverage, use it.

I agree with this except for BF6. Which i find unlikely. No COD, No Sims, and especially Minecraft. (I know mojang takes it time with ports to new consoles, but i am surprised Mojang didn't have a dev kit).

Edit: maybe there is an older COD coming, or maybe this new COD is just running behind because of dev kits.

Again though, if we got Halo trilogy instead. I would consider that a good alternative for 2025.

I wonder if it could be related to a space problem, you would need to buy an sd express of at least 512 which is around 100 bucks just to be able to install the game.

…Because COD was a mainstay staple on Nintendo platforms before MS bought Activision?

That's one surefire way to lose billions in revenue.
Some of you people crack me up.

Blame Nintendo for releasing yet another subpar console with two-gen old tech after this commitment was made.

Let's not pretend Microsoft gave a shit what the next Switch would be. They were handing out deals left and right. Whatever it took to convince regulators to let the deal go through. It was all typical Microsoft bullshit.

It's odd because Blops 7 is still getting a PS4/Xbox One version. So if anything this game should be easy to get running relative to future titles. I mean if anything it will get harder after this.

Makes me wonder if Microsoft is rethinking what supporting Switch 2 for 10 years actually means. Maybe that just port Warzone and support that for 10 years? Porting older cods instead? Cloud version?
Supposedly Nintendo is mandating things like DLSS , and apparently you have to implement Nvidia's proprietary software through the NVN2 api; so, there is no "port to switch" button.

Nobody plays COD titles on the Switch so there wouldnt be any revenue.

Weird comment. Switch 2 represents another platform to sell a decent amount of copies of their games, including COD. There's a legal commitment in place, and COD is fully multiplatform.

I fully expect a port of BLOPS7 post launch.

because there were no COD games released on the Switch.

you guys missed the fine print.

"to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players.........who also own the other consoles and can play it there."

Nothing weird about it. Microsoft pledged COD on Nintendo "the same day as Xbox" and now they are not doing what they pledged.

It's a new console, launching with limited devkits delivered not that long before launch. Nintendo themselves know when they delivered their kits to third party studios.

The fact that the likes of Square Enix didn't didn't have a single AAA RPG available for the Switch 2's launch should tell you how rocky the initial process has been.

I'd expect most 3rd parties to be day and date from next year.

This shit is why I come to neogaf lmaooo. I busted out laughing reading this and have chuckled for the last couple of minutes lol.

because there were no COD games released on the Switch.

Because there was never a succesful COD game on any Nintnedo console which is why they never bothered with it. If they never jumped in on Switch 1 and offer at least ONE COD game, why would they ever bother with Switch 2 which definately wont reach the same sales numbers. Also its a competitive twitch shooter, playing it on Switch at 30fps at best, low resolution, you would just get anhiliated. I cant wait to be a good COD player on a Nintendo console - said no one ever.

I find it strange the comments about MS not having dev kits when other companies like EA or 2K are releasing games already on Switch 2.
We are getting a dumb bonfire game for dads to complain about life to each others, but fucking Activision wasn't given devkits?

Yeah, nobody believes that.

Maybe it will come eventually but let's not forget the staggering amount of games that will not come to switch 2 just like the last several cycles. Unless 3rd party games don't matter in the isolated world in Nintendo fans.

One of the reasons Nintendo will continue to get lapped in terms of the gigantic amount of games they are missing.

Most Switch 2 owners on here also have other platformers so probably don't really care.

The world isn't scheduled to end in 10 years time and there's no definitive start date in that agreement, so…

Should they have delayed/canceled COD's release this year until they had a Switch 2 port ready?
