I found an awesome looking ship last night. The guy wants 1.7M, so I went down to farm all of the gold and rare resources I hadn't seen earlier, but I started running into drop pod after drop pod.

I spent most of my money. It's a good thing I can get most of it back through uploads and discoveries. I went through about 6 planets last night.

This ship better be worth it.

Guys, don't redeem the ps4 code in the box if you're not 100% sure you want all items.
I have redeemed it and I needed everything except the (low-tier) multi-tool included.. well, now the games bugs me every now and then because I have items yet to be redeemed. Selecting the multi-tool and then refusing it does nothing, it still is "unredeemed". Damn!
I'm waiting to find another one in order to accept the basic one and then switch it right away, but I've been out of luck for 3-4 systems: no new multi-tools at all.

On the brighter side, I've found a space station where i can sell plutonium at 90% more than the galactic average! :D Gonna mine the hell out of planets and build up a little stash for a new starship.

Was just told by a friend about upgrades being next to eachother in the inventory in order for it to work properly. Is this true?

I dont remember this ever being explained in the game and it just makes the inventory management even more annoying now.

No, it just makes them more effective. To what extent I have not tested. It's why multi-tools and spaceships have unique shaped inventories.

So far im 0 for 2 in space battles....I'm finding it near impossible. Can someone offer combat tips? I find I just end up spinning around trying to acquire a target.

Some require it, some don't You find the explanation in the upgrade description. I believe even the ones that don't require it give a bonus for being next to the thing your upgrading.

Pretty sure it just gives them a bit extra bonus, but they work without being next to each other.

Do people think an FOV slider is possible on PS4, one of the main things id like.

That's the same one that lists the percentage while exploring and categorying a planet right? Clicking on it doesn't do anything on the planet and it just says 100% complete.

Something may be bugged then, works fine for me and it's how the exploit is used too.

You're definitely still on that planet when you try right? Not sure it works if you return to the planet later and try. And holding X?

Lol, I know. But it would be nice to not have to kill them :p

Yes.. I spent some 30 minutes trying to scan the first Birds I found. I climb mountains and try different angles but no dice. The first animal I killed was the bird I shot down in frustration. Found out then that I could scan corpses :D

None of them require it. It just gives a bonus when connected to each other.

Six planets visited and I have not found a single crashed ship.

Is it really just luck or should I look out for anything?

I have gotten two I think. Both I found by selecting transmission from those searching thingiemajiggs that you use bypass chip on.

Edit: or it could be as wallach says. Im not sure now.

Keep an eye out for observatory style shelters. A lot of them have terminals that receive distress beacons, that you have to solve a very simple number pattern to successfully track. Pretty much all of them lead to crashed ships.

You can also use the scanners that require bypass chips and have them search for Transmissions, as Birathen mentioned above.

Did that as well. Found more beacons because of that, which in turn got me towards some strange ruins, but never once a crashed ship.

Oh, I see. Did not knew that.

I mean, you just played 12 hours in three to four days.... That's a lot.

I don't have much time to play during my work days so I binge game on my days off. TLOU, Doom, Uncharted 4 were all beat in one playthrough the first time. Unless it's a racing game I don't break it up much.
Personally, I would wait for patches. I feel like this was a labor of love and the devs will put some effort into improving things for the community.
I think I will, I'd lose about 20 bucks trading it in for another game. And private sale is too much of a hassle.

Mostly luck, but I think it'll help if you search for transmissions from those red signal beam pods. Observatories can lead you to them too.

I just netted 38 dollars on Amazon direct sale after shipping and Amazon insures the sale. It sold in 5 minutes. Bought for 47.99, so 10 bucks for this experience was totally worth it.

I think I'm happy watching Youtube videos if people discover more secrets, I finished my path, and am so happy with my journey.

Purty.

The good news is there's a FOV slider, and hopefully it will have decent range. I don't wan't to stop playing every 1/2 hour because of nausea.

Well it goes to a 100 at least so that's good enough for me in most cases.

However is CA an option? Cant see it in the SS.

CA is god awful in this game.

That's what I'm thinking. I am doing it on the planet. I've restarted, but I haven't left yet. I might go back soon to try again. I could have possibly broken it as well, since I did the exploit for another planet, but it let me do it while I wasn't on said planet. So I'm still getting progression on the % for each planet, but a good chunk of them are listed as 100% when I'm not on them.

Really hope I didn't break it since I don't think I have a way to go back that far without completely restarting my game.

If this game still doesn't gel with me over the weekend, I will sell it. I understand the appeal but I think it is too repetitive for my liking.

Hit my 20th warp today, ended up on a planet just covered in gold deposits. Going to stay here a while and rack up the units so I can hopefully get a ship with more storage space before I move on.

looked up to see how in the world to get to the center.... found this which I didn't know.

No Man’s Sky Patch 1.03 also increased the distance to center and players now start at 175,000 light years away.

So for those who don’t want to travel that much, staying at patch 1.0 might be a better idea since the center is only 40,000 light years away from their starting point in that.
Also that
After the black hole is marked, players should focus on upgrading their No Man’s Sky Hyperdrive so they can warp 300 light years instead of the default 100. Another upgrade can further increase the warp capability but it isn’t really necessary.

After the Hyperdrive has been upgraded, players need to use the Black Hole to travel. This will move them 2000 light years closer to the center of the galaxy.

Essentially I have only moved |-|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| that much if not less.

I've found that crashed ships are more trouble than they are worth. The game seems to only spawn crashed ships with 1 more cargo space than your existing ship, and you need to refill/repair so much on it you might as well just save up and buy a real ship.

Hey Kaching!

Ok well these blueprints that need like 10 gravitron balls are a little cumbersome then...oh well.
Hiya, Gash :)

I've come across a couple of worlds where they're just lying around 3 or 4 within easy walking distance. Have you encountered any planets like that?

Still, that's a lot inventory space to have to put aside for a resource that doesn't stack at all.

That's basically been my experience as well. I just ended up sitting in a space station landing bay and window shopping the arrivals for 10-15 minutes.

So is that aggressive sentinel planet with all the grav balls something everyone encounters in the beginning? So much money to be made there though.

Go backwards (only works in space though). You can go backwards in space by pressing the brake button (works like GTA in that respect). Let them pass and then fly backwards and they will always be in front of you (keep in mind that makes it easy for them to shoot you but make sure you have plenty of titanium or some other shield recharging item and recharge your shield when they bring it down or better if you can keep an eye on it and before they bring it down.

I've won all of my space battles but one doing that (and that one had four guys after me and it may have been before I used that tactic).

Sadly in planet atmosphere the way I've found kinda abuses game mechanics (the fact it won't let you get close to ground). Usually they can get closer to ground so I just point myself down and start shooting at them and the game will keep me higher than them.

Good idea. Still thinking about it...
