LOL okay I guess it's not so bad then :O I'll probably come back here leter! Can you afford this?
No?
Keep farming![]()
Damn, that's niceHad the same experience. Made almost 10 million units in an hourbought a nice new ship. You may want to check if you got any ship or multi tool updates that require vortex cubes to make - I had a few.
Found a monolith with a great name today...

On an unrelated note, finding the last species on a planet is taking a toll. It's all I need to do and can move on after, but I'm struggling to find it.
Yeah, they seem a bit less common but I've run into a few.On a related money-earning note, for the first time I've found a standalone trading terminal on a planet in the middle of nowhere.
On the map it shows as "terminal". That has made it so much easier to trade in a sea of ouposts where I would get lost between a myriad of icons.
Now I just load up on gold (my planet's most abundant and expensive element) both on the suit and in the ship, fly a minute there, sell, then fly back to the next set of outposts.
I don't know how frequent those terminals are, but this is the first and only one I've seen, and with its own icon.
mine was a second set of birds
Well, if you have Sentinel aggro on the surface then you'll alert the Sentinel Starships in space too. It's pretty annoying lol.
Sigma, Tau, Theta... which is best? Is it always the same for different upgrades?
What is the point of Shield Shards?
I think the one thing I'm disappointed about this game is ship customization.
I don't think Sean said anything to make me think this, but I was expecting the upgrading your ship stuff to be able to like... make your ship "yours". Maybe customize the colors, rename it, upgrade the storage. I mean I know that I shouldn't expect tiny ships to be able to have 48 slots, but I REALLY love my current ship and it bums me out so much that I can't even give it a single slot more without having to get an entirely new ship by repair or purchase.
It would be nice if in a future update they broke the ships into classes, (trading, gunships, exploring) and gave each type a max inventory upgrade number. So like a gunship or smuggler's ship would be small and sleek, not much storage, maybe 20-25 slots max, explorer ships would be mid-sized with storage capacities in the 30s, and trading ships would be large and bulky with up to 48 slots possible.
I don't know where I got it in my head but I was expecting us to be able to literally build the ships. Find a cockpit part you like and swap it out, find cool wings and use them, change the paint, that kind of thing. I don't know if something like that would be too complex or break the game, but I'm not too disappointed. Just really wish we could upgrade inventory space without having to completely throw away our ships.
Is this sequence for everyone? (first planet, after 1st warp).
You have to go to a facility where you learn about crafting Warp Cells.
The door is locked so you need to shoot open the door.
The Sentiels get pissed and come after you
Happen to anyone else?
The order is Sigma, Tau, Theta, and Omega.
Another way to check to see the numbers Generally Tau level upgrades have a +2 effect, and Theta will have a +3. I have only ever came across one Omega tier add-on.
So I have no idea if there is a level beyond Omega.
Also Shield Shards can be used as substitute for wasting Zinc for recharging your Suit and Ship Protection.
Zinc is some rarer than the Shield Shards, especially since the Shield Shard recipe only requires 50 Iron which can be found everywhere.
I've only ever found + %98 trade bonuses at the terminal in space stations. It's usually one or two minerals. I think I saw gold once but I can't be sure.Does the price of gold ever go up substantially? I found a deposit giving me 2000 total. I can't seem to find a merchant willing to give me more than +3% on the base price.
This is exactly me right now. My first 6-8 hours I managed to find 2 amazing looking planets full of grass and trees. and 30 hours in I haven't found one quite like them since. Really annoying me now.
So I'm renaming everything I discover like this:
(PSN is Articate)
"Articus <PartOfFirstNameThatOriginallyWas> (!)[ElementsOnPlanet]#[type]"
! Means there's green objects, those you can pick up and aggro sentinels, so like the last planet I was on:
Articus Kazu EmTi#b
Then I know I can get Emeril and Titanium there (Zinc and Platinum is part of flora, so just check that). Works for systems too. Then it's about what the big asteroids carry. Now I know where I can get what. b means it was boring![]()
Meanwhile I've just left the newly christened Kasterborous system where I named every planet and species after ones from Doctor Who...
Different strokes lol.
The harder one's are usually the flying animals or the one's in bodies of water. Hold L2 in open area's. You can usually spot a small red dot indicating that an animal is walking around that you have not scanned.
Thank you both for the advice. Most likely a bird. They are a pain, really tough to scan. People usually just shoot them then scan their carcass.
If not a bird, maybe a cave dwelling creature.

my latest planet is filled with huge giant emeril cocks and little orb things that go for $25k a piece. I'm going to stay here for a few days and make millions
I've given up naming flora and fauna unless something really interesting pops up, but I'll always name the system and planets with something descriptive about their physical characteristics, ie. Land type and sky color. I'm searching for my Earth. I've found tropical planets but I'm still looking for one with blue skies. Closest I've come is a weird green/blue gradient.Meanwhile I've just left the newly christened Kasterborous system where I named every planet and species after ones from Doctor Who...

Are we to believe this is due to the magical randomness of procedural generation? Honestly, I doubt it. I think Sean Murray deliberately made it possible to have these by including all the needed elements. I believe he loves cracking jokes like that "OH WAIT I changed my mind" tweet when the game was about to be released on Steam yesterday.
God damn it. The game says 'Unoccupied building found - rare upgrade available.'
It's on another planet so I drop everything and spend minutes getting all the way across the system to over there - sounds exciting because I'm running out of things to learn. When I get there... it's something I already knew. I wish they would fix the RNG on that stuff. Makes it really hard to care about going anywhere when 90% of the time you already have whatever reward the game deals out.
The only thing I need now is money. I know 200 words, almost all the damn schematics and yet have a ship with 20 slots and only 500k units.

Can you delete objective markers that you aren't interested in? I'm being pointed towards random nonsense that I don't care about and it's cluttering my UI.
Originally there were supposed to be ship classes, the ability to name your ship and wear and tear if you kept it for a while. As it stands now the only difference is slots.
Sorry to bother, yet again.
But what do the shield shards do. ?
Manbearpig :0every time people post something negative about NMS, a lambcow gets its wings. @_@
