The most game breaking bugs for me so far are getting upgrade blueprints and then them not appearing in the menu and not being able to clear a waypoint on the star map. Really really frustrating.

Final undiscovered planet on my 3rd system.
Skyscrapers made of Emeril
Awwww yeeeeeah

Really the only bug I'm encountering is sometimes when launching from planet surface, I get instantly catapulted into the stratosphere...

This seems to happen to pretty much everyone.

Had to restart my first playthrough because of this. Redeeming the preorder ship early really fucks you over.

I got off the Atlas path, just because I didn't realize what that was. Can I get back on it to continue the story? (Warped twice since I first left it)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one, I thought it was a new ship upgrade that did this.

So I found this sweet planet which is absolutely filled by those large gold stack things (the language is set in Dutch so I have no idea what it is in English). Except when I laser beam the part of it which is in the soil, I receive no gold :( Is this a bug?
It is not a bug.
When you use L2 then L3 to scan, a grid will appear. It shows all the units that will be counted when you dig.
The leftover under the soil usually is not in the grid, and is just cosmetic.

My game seems to be fucked. It's crashing every time I attempt to warp. Think that's it for me. I'm done.

Have you tried landing on a planet, making a few discoveries and then warping? That helped with my warp crashes.

Has anyone come across a planet that has already been discovered by another player?

The second system I jumped to was already discovered by someone else. This was within 30 minutes of the PC launch and it really blew my mind.

I wish you could swoop around the landscapes a bit more. Actually quite annoying when first entering a planet it feels like you have a cushion stopping you getting down low quickly

Is there a way to remove this waypoint/icon of a little red house, it's the abandoned building marker. It will go away if I go visit it, but I'm currently on another planet in the system and this thing is annoying, it's always in my field of view pointing towards this dumb abandoned building I don't really care about at the moment.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen the No Man's Sky Data Mining thread (Spoilers warning I guess).

This is fucking hilarious because it was found on the NMS disc:

Loving this game so far. On the atlas path, had about 12 jumps. Just got my first new ship (sad to leave the old one)

Anyone know how you rename a ship?

As a side note, I've just found a black hole. If I jump through what's the general thoughts on picking back up the atlas path? Or should I just leave the black hole well alone if I want to continue with atlas?

I don't know if it works this way, and it probably doesn't, but what would be cool is if as you get closer to the center of the galaxy there are actually fewer and fewer star systems you can warp to which will allow you to see more systems that others have already been to.

Seriously this game handles mountain, bodies of water, and erosion generation on a next level. They should if nothing else license out this terrain generation tech
Sean Murray a while back said the terrain is generated from different wave patterns - sine waves and whatnot - from that they textured them. He also said that's what he sees when exploring is all the algorithms commingling upon each other...quite fascinating to say the least

Are you trying to warp immediately after leaving a space station? That was causing me to crash every time I warped. Once I boosted away until I was in the middle of the asteroids I was able to warp without problem.

I got a terrible second ship and am now slowly upping my slot count because of that. At 21 now. However i got a nice multitool at one of the outposts early on. After some nice finds at outposts and some random gifts I am at 21 slots for my tool. My previous one was fully kitted for mining and was a super cooled ore destroyer.

I saw some talk in the bitchy NMS thread about different "kinds" of solar systems. Something about them being designated by letters (on the galaxy map) like "G" systems and "Y" systems. Is this a thing?

Yup. You need different warp reactors to reach them though. Following the Atlas path will only bring you to G systems.

I did go to a couple B system planets yesterday.

Got to mine stuff like Calium and some other material. They were labeled with a purple color so they seemed rare.

Okay, I think I'm deep into the game but feel like I must have missed something. MAJOR SPOILERS below, can someone who has finished the game tell me if I screwed up?

I went down the Atlus path, and collected the 10 shards. After that, I went to another atlus station and turned in the 10 shards. It indicated my mission was complete, but nothing happened. I left there, and shortly later came across a black hole (first one I had seen in the game since I focused on the Atuls path). I went through it, and I'm guessing it put me closer to the center. I've now passed probably 50 systems with no end in sight. So... does this thing just keep going and going after you turn in the 10 shards? Did I mess up by going in that black hole? Anyone come across this and know if I'm just supposed to pass another 100 systems or something?

The game keeps crashing on me every 5 warps or so, so I'm calling it quits for now. I just have no clue if the end is in sight or if it will just keep going like this for another 20 hours. I like the game, but I might be done.

Edit: Just looked up some YouTube videos... sounds like I'm no where close to the end. I think I'm done. It was entertaining for a while, but I think I'd go mad doing this for 20 more hours.

So do planets ever have biomes, or is every square kilometer on the planet similar?
Unfortunately it's starting to look like it - been to countless planets with a single biome - on a second note - I wish there was a way to distinguish poles and equatorial regions

It feels like there are areas where specific things are more or less common. Like, I've been on a planet and haven't seen a drop pod in ages, then you fly a while and suddenly there's a drop pod every 30 seconds. Same with resource clusters and bases.

But everything else appears to be the same for a single planet.

I warped to a couple of k class systems and it is the same dull regurgitation. But at least I got to feed some iron to a lizard coyote with wings. That was the highlight of the trip.

At any rate, I believe that I have pretty much seen what all No Man's Sky has to offer and I had some fun for the first 20 hours. But that is about all I can stand of it for now. I'll be moving on to play something else that does not feel like a mindless chore.

Found a really barren planet that has a lot of water. And along the shores are a lot of escape pods. JOY!

Where to find copper?

My galaxy is dry. I've tried to buy it from the ship vendors, trade posts and space port. Nada, zip, nothing. Can't repair those shield in my new ship.

absolutely loving the game, I spent 16 hours on the first day, and been playing it daily for multiple hours since, I accepted the guidance but not following it and freely roaming the galaxy now, every time I decide to continue with 'story' I find an interesting planet with lots of minerals or lots of animals, for now I'm following
the atlas path I thought it leads to the atlaspass but instead I got the balls,
, best moment for me when I looked down to a trench and found this weird plant and I kept thinking is that a face I'm seeing or I'm imagining stuff,
I kept zooming and yeah that looks like a face,
I turned back and...
I did't notice the face earlier...

Thanks, I'll try again another day. I've played a lot over the last couple of days so I could do with some time out.

I've found two ruins/monuments I can't interact with on different planets. They both looked the same, quite tall with flat stairs on both sides and a hole/tunnel in the middle. Didn't find any way to interact with them (unless I somehow missed the obvious). Anyone else knows what they are?

Edit: they also looked different than the Korvax and Vy'Keen monoliths and ruins. Haven't seen any Gex ruins yet though, so don't know what they look like.

Portals from the trailers.

Yeah you probably missed where to go. Sometimes its underneath or else where keep walk around you eventually find the interactive point

Copper is a fairly rare resource in my experience. In asteroid fields, it can sometimes be found as big oblong brown boulders. On planets that are not dead or barren, it can be found as floating eggs above the surface. These can easily be spotted while cruising around the planet in your ship, so that's the easiest way IMO.

My first thought was this for some reason. Probably because I'm imagining his voice with them.

On an unrelated note, stupid question. Do upgrades stack? The multi tool I bought early on that is much better than the starter has both Beam Intensifier Sigma and Theta (+1/+3) already installed.

Also, how do you get more grenades? The plasma launcher add on still says 100% energy but I ran out of grenades.

Yeah, they do. But I think they have to be next to each other in the upgrade grid. At least when I put them next to each other their outline turned blue.
