No Man's Sky |OT| Hello Worlds.

I've spend all sunday farming crap to cumulate enough cash to buy a big ship. and as many here already mentioned only mediocre shit seems to be landing in all the ports (warped 3 times even, hoping to have some variety).

and as many mentioned before, I've seen big ships land when I didn't have the cash. therefore here's my theory: back then I kept my expensive ore on the ship, but after I died a couple of times in space, I keep everything in my fully upgraded exosuit. what I want to try now is, to put some special gems on my ship, which would attract more expensive cruiser to appear?

hope this'll work. not gonna spend 8 hours waiting for that one ship and I won't just buy one that has only 4 more slots either.

I am still stuck with the base ship after 20 hours. I don't want to spend 2 million on a ship, and I cannot find good shipwrecks on planets. The best so far was a ship with +1 slot.

I saw this little gem last night

With 30 slots!

... For a cool 10.2 million credits.

Grown man wanted to cry, with his paltry 1.8 on hand. :(

You can get a 26 slot for 2 mill. Seems crazy to spend 10 for a 30 slot.

I found a planet that had aliens trying to give me multi-tools like they were going out of style. It got to the point that I had my 20 slot just right and didn't even want the 22-slots they were trying to give me for free.

Yep. Every building I'm going in has a multitool on the wall, and an NPC that will give me a multitool. Shit I just spent 2 hours upgrading my 18 slot stop offering me 20 slot tools!

Yea. But they will always be like +1 or -1, so you just keep finding crashed ships and upgrading and eventually you'll be at max slots without having to spend a single credit.

All of you rich bastards make me sick! lol I've had the worst luck with resources and planets. I'm over 40+ jumps/systems in and idk how many damn planets but i'm at 20 suit upgrades and whatever that preorder ship is lol. Only 2 mil credits. Might just wait until a big patch hits. Burned out a little :/

I'm around 12 hours in and just warped to my first new system.

So far I'm having a real blast. The game is exactly how I expected it to be and for me that just fine.

One thing that's kinda bugging me is pinning a formula. I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. I feel I'm just being really stupid but I'm not getting a prompt (I believe it's triangle on PS4) to pin it. AAAAGGGHHH! It would make life much easier for myself if I can get it to actually work.

Can anyone tell me or link me to a place that explains which upgrades go in order.

I'm not sure if it's Sigma > Tau or maybe some other order?

The pinning system is bad. I want to pin stuff for easier access, but that's not what it does. All it means is you'll get on-screen updates of what you need. Even that doesn't work well, though.

Are you not upgrading your suit at space stations?

they cant be serious with that.
no even a fucking atlas v2 or v3 key? nothing?this really pisses me off, i didnt expect something huge to happen, just...something. man, i wasted so much time for this bullshit.

I'm sorry man :(

Nothing you do has any story payoff :(

Yeah, weirdly the best story moments I got came from the Monoliths and
the Nada/Polo dialogue
. Those two sources keep delivering on great story content even when the actual 'gameplay narrative' gives you fucking nothing.

My favourite was the really meta
dialogue with Nada, where she points out that all the repeated minerals and planet-types and patterns throughout the galaxy are illogical and that a guiding hand must have created it all.
So meta. Blew my mind. Similar thing to what Elon Musk has been saying IRL.

I'd be happy with that TBH. I'm not even getting a button prompt to enable it.

Anyone have a video/guide which shows someone actually pinning one? I've seen it done a few times on streams but can't remember where.

uhhh what

I believe you need an Atlas Pass V1 to do so.

well that takes me to my previous question, how do you get an atlas pass? does it come with the story (don't spoil)

I'm loving this game, and every time i come on GAF and see people complaining about it, for some reason i kind of have negative thoughts too.

I have only been playing it about 6 hours and i can already see the pattern of what to do, if something doesn't ever break that pattern up, it's going to get old quick.

Any idea when the next patch will be? i read that they're bringing in base building? that should be awesome

Don't know when the next patch will be here or what it will be bringing, but I already found a recipe for "aronium". The description said something about being a great alloy for the construction of planetside outposts and stuff.

Speaking of all the money making schemes, my best one is the space station in my second system, named "Rainbows and honey" due to this scheme alone: The station has Dynamic Resonators as a premium product, buying them at 56k per piece. And all the ships visiting the station are selling them at 33k with some ships selling as many as 4. Two of the more infrequent visitors are also bying the resonators at the same premium price, so I don't even always have to go to the office to sell 'em. Onerous task, but far more profitable vs spent time than anything else I've seen so far.

I should keep a look out for that.

Found my first V'keen(?) system! First outpost I stopped at the one there gave me 22 slot multi tool. Thanks buddy.

There is also a moon here with grav balls around but it's extremely toxic and has frenzied sentials so it is too much hassle to farm them.

One day I will get rich and upgrade my 22 slot ship :(

Anyone else get a chuckle of the space popo system....its pretty much like GTA with the star system....

I mean come on your supposed to exploring a vast universe and the space popo is there to ruin the fun.

I made good money with crafting the bypass chips and selling them. they only need plutonium and iron.

There`s an issue with this class of ship. the cockpits tend to be high enough that most of the time when you get out you fall far enough to lose nearly a quarter of your shields

Push that kind of capitalist ingenuity in the real world and you'll go far.

Just take it easy on the dismount, space jockey. Pump your jet pack on the way down

My previous ship was of a similar class and had trouble landing on anything even slightly off level without looking like it was about to topple

yeah, man, you just know it's some deep shit when even elon musk mentions it :) ...

Might as well save for a 48 slot at that point. I think they are around 50 mil.

The ships available seem to come in tiers with stuff at the extreme range almost never appearing. So now I have a 37 slot I'll start seeing a lot of 43-48 slots wheras before I bought the 37 slot seeing a 43-48 was a rare occurrence.

It`s really weird seeing these huge ships and sometimes they have 11 slots though :)

It's not an issue though. I`ll buy a 43 slot ship. Add in my warp drive upgrades and move on. Next time I find a perfect planet to farm I'll stop and get the 48 slot. With the 37 slot and my 38 slot suit I'm making 1.2mil per run of sac venom from this planet that's a 4 second pulse jump away from the station.

I've noticed that pirates will only jump me if I'm carrying rare minerals like gold or emeril. If I'm carrying sac venom I never get attacked (Except by sentinels)

I have like 4.5M. Currently a 22 slot ship, ready to upgrade --- from there I probably won't upgrade unless I find a ship. Hoping I find a ship first.

Not that thorough.. could you elaborate on the ways to get them? I feel like I'm missing half of the game as I cant use any of my dozen or so multi-tool upgrades.. :/

When you use a beacon for shelter, it can direct you to compounds that have aliens. Sometimes, there will be a multitool there.

Is my game glitched if I got an Atlas pass V1 from an alien?

Jumped to my third system last night, got an Atlas monolith on the radar. Landed, interacted, it basically told me to fuck off because I'd told the red ball to fuck off when I started the game. Fnaaaar.

I finally bought myself a new ship, waited in a space station for ages dithering and ended up losing the one I wanted (I was sat on the bonnet so it wouldn't leave, as soon as I jumped off to check another one that came in, it flew off) - flew down to the planet and the exact same ship was there but 100k cheaper. Its only an 18 slot ship, cost me 300,000k but it looks nicer than the starting lump.

I've been mining Emeril, found a planet with lots of massive towers of it, so I'm up to almost 2 million credits now. I'm still looking for a better ship, so I'm just gathering money at the moment.

My multitool is awesome though, think its 14 slots and looks a lot like the needler gun from Halo. So I've got it upgraded as I like it now, might hold onto it for the foreseeable. Suit currently at 18 slots I think.

Still really enjoying the game, the hours just disappear. Just one more planet, one more trade. 3 hours goes by.

You know what I absolutely hate about this game? The fact that I'm on this beatiful water planet with few islands scattered around and no fauna... Yet I just got startled by some loud whale-like noises coming from God knows where. I searched everywhere, nothing.

Who thought that having random animal noises regardless of whether a planet has animals or not was a good idea?

Which reminds me of another problem, I was on a planet with non-existent flora... I read this while I make my way out of the bushes lol

Enjoying the game a lot, but some of these design choices are a bit, for the lack of a better word, shit.
